Ok here is the problem I am running the cycle plugin on a webiste I am currently working on. It works in IE9 with and without compatability modeBUT in FF and Chrome no joy!!! The place where my slideshow is supposed to be is blank white. See Site [URL] Not sure what the heck is going on anymore. I had a lot of problems with this site but i fixed 90% of them by reworking my css.

I'm using the cycle plug-in with an existing nav bar (2 buttons). It functions correctly -- but for some reason -- I can't get the corresponding nav button to change CSS class and show as highlighted.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI inherited Javascript and jQuery for a sliding belt (carousel) module. Basically, left and right navigation arrows would appear to the sides of the belt if there were more slides to show.
The jQuery and Javascript code was originally a singleton, so I decided to convert it into a jQuery plug-in in case the belt HTML markup was instantiated more than once. We have a CMS, so multiple belt modules theoretically could be placed on the same template.
Below is test page with two belts on the same page and the associated Javascript jQuery.
My problem is that when you click on the arrows or the slides, I found that the second belt works fine but not the first one. The first one does not show a left arrow when you page to the right. Likewise, the first belt gets mixed up going to the left. Somehow, only the second belt works as expected.
What I would like to do is when I attach my plug-in to a DIV, I want each belt to operate independently of each other (i.e keep its own local variables, functions, etc.).
I am not sure what I am missing here. what I am doing wrong? (You should be able to copy and paste the code into jsFiddle to see how it currently works.)

In Firefox 3.6.8 on OSX 6.4 the main image displays at 6px wide and 18px high if I clear the cache and load the page fresh. Once the images are cached, subsequent page loads show the images at their correct size. I would need to include a 'load' event trigger. However, since I am not that familiar with javascript or jquery programming, I couldn't manage to program this solution and tested.
I have tried various things to get this to work in IE, and I'm not sure why it won't work. The shuffle effect works, but not properly. It works in all the other browsers just fine. The problem is that it stop working of Firefox after about two hours. I used it on the main page and leave it working and afterabouttwo hours the picture stop moving and there is only one pictureshown.

This makes the slide that slides out fade as expected, but the slide that slides in doesn't fade. It is suddenly made visible before sliding in. So it ignores the opacity that I set on line 9.
I'm trying to do a goto thing with the cycle plugin. I've succeeded with the same thing before. The only thing that happens now is that it goes to the first index/restarts.
$('#id').cycle(n); always gets me the first slide. I've checked that the n value is a number/integer. The only thing I can come up with is some kind of conflict.I'm also using jcarousel but when I deactivate that it's the same problem.
