JQuery :: Using Cycle With Load Works In Firefox But In IE
May 29, 2011
I am using $('.CycleContents').cycle which works quite fine in all browsers but if i load the contents before cycle by using load functionit works in firefox but in IE i need to refresh and then it works and doesn't work very first time.
I am working with MODx CMS. Following website: Carlindesign I integrated the cycle plugin on the home. It works but after the cycle is done the cycle call shows up instead of the next cycle.
i'v been using jquery cycle for my front page on my index page for my website and for most of the time it works on chrome and ie8, but on firefox it doesn't seem to work, it just displays all the images in a big list, not rotating them. Heres my site >>>>My Site It did work in the local view in dreamweaver cs5, but since i ftp'd it to justhost.com, it doesn't seem to work.
I'm using pager functionality to navigate a slideshow with thumbnails and next and previous images. In Firefox 3.6.8 on OSX 6.4 the main image displays at 6px wide and 18px high if I clear the cache and load the page fresh. Once the images are cached, subsequent page loads show the images at their correct size. I'm stumped.A secondary issue I'm having is that I'm displaying both vertical and horizontal images and would like to center them within their container, but haven't figured out how to apply the pager functionality once I wrap the images in a div to position them. Here's the site in development, and I've attached a screenshot of the sizing discrepancy (since it seems to be very specific to Firefox on OSX - Safari does not display the same issue)Attachments Screen shot 2010-09-06 at 2.53.10 AM.pngSize : 353.76 Download : 344
My code is very simple: a div conatining 5 images (always the same 5!) to swap using the fade effect. It works fine in IE but in Firefox (I have Firefox 8.0) the images are not being uploaded. I checked previous posts and some point out that instead of doing

I would need to include a 'load' event trigger. However, since I am not that familiar with javascript or jquery programming, I couldn't manage to program this solution and tested.
Ok here is the problem I am running the cycle plugin on a webiste I am currently working on. It works in IE9 with and without compatability modeBUT in FF and Chrome no joy!!! The place where my slideshow is supposed to be is blank white. See Site [URL] Not sure what the heck is going on anymore. I had a lot of problems with this site but i fixed 90% of them by reworking my css.
The problem is that it stop working of Firefox after about two hours. I used it on the main page and leave it working and afterabouttwo hours the picture stop moving and there is only one pictureshown.
I have yet to be able to do this successfully. I am using the Cycle Plugin to cycle through a series of images and corresponding caption. To show the images, I use:
Problem: The captions do not effectively cycle. What appears is the first caption from php the_excerpt but it does not change to the next php the_excerpt text. Can I solve this problem so I get the text from php the_excerpt to correspond to each image??
I want the slideshow to be in pause mode when the page loads. I can add a button to resume but can't figure out how to pause on load.I've tried several things. Here's the last attempt that didn't work.
I'm using JQuery Cycle for the first time and am needing to rotate 4 images ina bannercontainer div.The page in question is Here. identify required changes to ensure that this works correctly?
I have this cycle slideshow demo, zip. In Internet Explorer is all fine but in the Firefox hide the buttons. I tried to change and turn the divs but still was not right. Why happens this?
I have an issue with JQuery Cycle plugin that only appears in IE (version 8, but probably also others), and only appears the first time the page is loaded. Clearing the cache, clearing cookies, etc, does not allow the problem to be reproduced a second time.On first page load, the slideshow briefly flashes what look like 'broken image' icons, before loading images properly. The images then start to cycle, but with a small square appearing at top left corner, and the transition from slide to slide apparently being erratic, and going to blank slides.[code]
I've been building a site that will rely very heavily on ajax calls to save server load and to spice things up a bit. So, so far I've successfully made several different ajax calls in Firefox. I'm mainly using the following code
I have a select dropdown menu that I am trying to generate dynamically.
[Code]...
What I would like is if the Psychology option is selected then it would show the Psych Divisions and hide the Education Divisions and vise versa. Then from the divisions you can select the location and then term. Basically a dynamic dropdown that hides the selects until specifically called.
I am not really sure where to start with this as my function works perfect in IE 6. However when I select one of my categories and hit submit in Firefox or IE7 or 8 nothing happens. No error message. Just nothing. How can I get this working for firefox and IE7/8?
[CODE] <script language="JavaScript"> var categories=[]; var categorieslist=[];
Ok, So check out [URL].. The index jquery works fine on all three browsers (last I checked) Now go to [URL]..php or any other secondary page. The jquery has gone loopy and is not working! It seems my CSS partially works, my jquery does not work at all... totally lost on why my jquery is not activating.
I have scroll and pagination jQuerys for a website that I am developing for a company. The jQuery works fine on all browsers until I updated firefox to 3.6.3. On FF 3.6.3 the page loads fine but once the scroll or pagination is clicked on to change pages, the entire content shifts up 200px. I was unable to find any known bugs with FF and jQuery except for certain jQuery pages not being able to load but that seems to have been resolved. I am stumped with this problem and was hoping that maybe someone would know how to resolve this. I have tried using JavaScript to detect the browser and version to load a different css but that caused the page to load weird and jQuery fixed it after scroll or pagination was activated.
I was able to deduce that the problem must be with the two columns float left and right which are position relative, but still am unable to figure out why once the pagination or scroll is clicked the columns should shift... Let me know if more information is needed, such as page source. (I will do my best to disclose all relevant information to the extent permitted by the company).
