When it comes to JavaScript, I am implementing a couple of Coda sliders onto a site, and as far as I am aware, you can have two sliders on one page, but for me this isn't working.
The effect is using jQuery, and the page can be found here: [url]
The first slider works well, but the second doesn't load properly.
This is my first post to this forum. When a button in parent window is clicked multiple times, more than one popup window is opened. This problem is occurring in linux firefox and mozilla browsers. In windows the code is working fine. Is there any option in window.open() method to open a popup window once. s there any known issue regarding this case?. Need a workaround to fix this issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my site here [url], I am using the coda slider effect I found here [url]. And on the tab entitled "Home Groups", there is a link "Home Group 1", which links to a fancy zoom box that I got from here [url].
But when I click on the fancy zoom text it scrolls the container a little to the right, and on some older browsers it returns to the original first container that loaded from the start.
Any idea where the effects are conflicting? or what code I would have to amend to make it work more fluidly?
I have a hidden popup that I populate with content and it dynamically expands to the size of the content. I then show the popup. When a user clicks on another link, it populates the popup with longer or shorter content. When the content is SHORTER, it seems to show the background image that I'm using expanding to the height of the previous size of the popup. I've tried setting the height manually with JS, no luck. This only happens on IE6.

I installed the slider from the WPCoda theme into another theme I customized at airadis - com (Site Point won't let me insert an actual link). It works great except that in IE there is a white box down at the bottom left that I cannot find a way to get rid of.
What I know:It's a result of the script for the slider- if I take the script out the box goes away. If I take the content out of the container it remains, but if I take out the container (#page .scrollContainer .panel) from the HTML, it goes away. I've tried adjusting sizes every which way. The box size remains exactly the same. I did not touch the script, only the CSS.
In exchange for a solution, I would be glad to give someone some space at my PR6 site, randaclay - com - a text link for a month, a post promoting your services, etc - we'll work it out.
First, here's the URL of the site I'm working on: http:[url].....Each week, I'd like to be able to have that page load a different tab/panel onload according to who the opponent is that week. For example: this week I want the second tab, Alabama, to load first. I'm using one of the many iterations of the coda slider script (see coda-slider.js (http:[url].....). However, I can't seem to get it to cooperate. I found a solution for a similar coda slider, but it won't match with the one I'm using (because the naming conventions for the "panels" are not the same I assume). Here's what that solution was:

I'm having a problem trying to use a single DIV object for a popup menu
when I'm using embedded IFrames. All the IFrames have the same parent
document but I can't make the popup appear inside of each IFrame unless
I appendChild the popup DIV to each individual IFrame document body.
Should I be able to show the popup without having to reparent the popup
object? Are there any tricks to be aware of?
I've a problem I hava a page with different popup windows, when I hit a link the first one pops up and with the first open i would like to hit the second link in the parent page so the second links pops up a window in the first popup. The way I have it now is working but with each link the
size of the popup window should be different but that doesnt happen how can I solve that problem?

We have numerous prompts where we have a button for the user to click on that brings up a new prompt window where they type in a search name like, TIE, to search for all ties available to select from.
After typing the search name, the same window displays a list of selections to choose from. When they select the desired item and click the continue button, the window closes and we return the item number to the calling program.
What I would like to do is bring back more than one variable. For example, instead of just, 1234 in Fld1, I would like to return, 1234 into Fld1 and B into Fld2, where Fld2 will not be displayed but needed elsewhere.
For this made up example, these codes could stand for... 1234=Tie and B=Blue. We may use 1234 for all ties and have a second field to further define it.
The code I have always used in the past will just bring back the 1234, I am asking how to return the B also?

I dont know much about the functionality on what causes some popups to trigger a browsers blocker and some not to.
Situation: I have an account information page (where users can edit their account details) one of the fields the user can edit comes at a cost. For billing I am using a 3rd party billing portal (standard form action pointing to the service & value is passed via post variable)
-user hits submit (not on the 3rd party billing form, my fake ajax button)a service is selected that cost $1 (lets say)verification DB is updated (no page reload)value field is updated in the 3rd party billing form to reflect the additional service I then initiate the form submit on the 3rd party billing form into a popup window I do not want to user to leave the site, I want the $1 billing window to pop up, they take care of it then close the window returning back to the site. From a parent window, I open two child windows.In the second child, you complete some data, and then it closes the window. I'm trying to figure out how to find and close the first popup window at the same time (as that is used for reference but no action necessary on it).As near as I can tell window.open should let me set a handle that I can then reference later on to close that window (or am I misunderstanding that), but i cannot figure out how to reference that window.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to dynamically open a popup window but ie8 blocks it with the popup blocker. basically within a ajax fuction I have a confirm button and if the user clicks yes it opens a popup window. now I tried it with a javascript function but it got blocked, so I have tried it by creating a form with a button in it and instead of calling the popup function direct I call document.form.button.click and in the form my button has onclick"popup('<? echo url; ?>')" but this also is detected as a unwarranted popup and is blocked.
now I understand that the popup blocker works when a popup is called without user interaction, but allows popups on say button clicks. how can I get the popup to work

In my application i use window.showmodaldialog() to pop up a window. When i run it in IE pop up blocker wont blocks the window... But when run it in FireFox pop up blocker will blocks the pop up window.. is there any way to open a window with out blocking(avoiding ) by the pop up blocker?
