JQuery :: Cannot Get A Success Message To Display After Form Is Sent (after Validation)

A website I'm designing vgdesign.net/thc has a form in the footer. It functions how I want right now (to my knowledge) except for the fact that after a user submits a form and it passes validation, I want a message to be displayed that says "Thank You". I have a class created for this in my stylesheet but I don't know how to trigger it when the form is sent successfully. Essentially, I would like the result to look like this:
If the form doesn't pass validation, I want it to not display until the users fix the errors in the validation pop ups and resubmit. The php script that sends the form contents to the specified email is at the top of my index.php page. The validation tool I'm using is called jquery inline form validations (found here: [URL] How can I have that success message pop up when the form was successfully submitted?

I am making a call to a php file which right at this minute has no validation, all validation is been done by the jquery form plugin. the validation (xss prevention soon to be implemented) in the thanks fails I want to stop the processing of the form i.e. stop the return of success.

I have some simple in put forms laid out as

on screen it looks like

the validation works, but the error message appears between the label and the input i would like it to appear beside/after the input, how can i accomplish this?

I am trying to display validation error messages when form validation fails. Currently it does display the error messages but then disappears straight away. How can I stop the page from refreshing when validation fails? I have return false in my code when validation fails but still having same problem. I've got a form for adding a person to a textfile. The form is made with html and i submit it to a perl-file, where i read out the input and write it in a textfile. After writing the file i want to make a redirect to an overview page with each user and there i want to have a success-message ("user successfully added").
How do i make this success-message on the overview-page after the redirect from perl? I know, i could just redirect to the overview-page with a parameter (overview.html?success=true) and then if the parameter is set, display a success-message. but if i handle it with a parameter then the success-message does not hide after a page-refresh.i've seen a lot of web-applications where the success-message is displayd but hides after a page-refresh..ps: here is an example of an application where they have it programmed like i want it:[URL]

I have created several validations to my forms in the web site.If a particular field is empty then a message box displayed "Please enter name/address/contact number etc.At the same time if I added data successfully to the database there is a message box displaying and saying " Data has been added successfully to the database".But the icon displayed of the message boxes are similar in both these situations.(When something not entered and successfully entered)I want to know how can the icon of the message box can be changed?It should be appeared differently for a successful data entry.....

I need to invoke a method when a field validation is either successful or unsuccessful. I have managed to get the function to run if the field validation fails by using the following:

But how do I invoke a method specific to a field that triggers when the field validates successfully? I need to invoke showBigGreenTick(fieldname) for the fields that are validOn another note, I find it very strange the the documentation is so poor regarding this validation. To even find out that there was a "messages" option for validate was found on another website.

i.e. I want to enable/disable a particular set of controls depending on the state of validation.

I'm looking for different JS form validation techniques. I've seen quite a few but nothing that really stands out. I'm particularly interested in finding design techniques...ie: how and where are the errors displayed inside a form? I realize that I can't count on JS for validation, but I'm trying to add an assistive technology to make a web form feel more like a web application. I'd love to see your favorite way of displaying form errors via JS. I've got a few of my own but if you've ever tried to do this you know it's a difficult problem to handle the general case.

I want to do a form validation and it should return a message like "should not be empty" when the user leaves the field blank..

Now I want to know how can i display alert message to the user saying that the particular label name should not be empty..
For eg.. here I want to display alert as "Did you find this article useful? field should not be empty".... (Assuming this is mandatory)
I have so many fields like this in my form(checkbox, radio buttons, etc...) and i want to display alert with label name...

When using .ajax, and when before I receive any data back from the server, I would like to call a function that could display some type of 'thinking' icon. In looking a the documentation I see there is a 'success', for when after receiving data back successfully, and an 'error', for obviously when something bad happens and need to error gracefully. I do not see something like a 'beforeSuccess' function that would allow me to specify, for example, to overlay a 'thinking icon' on top of a <div> after request is sent to the server and before I get any data back. I would assume this is a pretty standard necessity in ajax applications, and probably missing something here. How exactly is this done using the .ajax methods?

I am trying to remove a validation message from the screen when a user checks a checkbox. I do require that the user enter a last name in a text box before they click the submit button. If they dont, the validation message appears. I am trying to hide or clear that validation message when they select a check box on the page. I've written my own custom validation method using addMethod which works great. But what I'd like to do is change the error message depending on which part of the validation it fails on.
I've tried defining & using a var for the message but the message never changes, a very simple cut-down example:

I have a classified listing application (php) that shows an alert message on the main page to let the user know if there was an error, if the listing was entered, if a required field was left blank, etc.
the simple jquery code is:
$('#alert').fadeIn("slow");
setTimeout(function() {
$("#alert").fadeOut(3000);
}, 4000);
the alert msg. displays whenever the page is loaded. However, if someone navigates with the forward or back buttons in the browser, or reloads the page, the alert message displays again.
I am pulling my hair out for a solution that shows the alert only once and then does not show an alert again until a new message is generated.

I have a form which submits data to a php file, which than sends a pdf file containing the inputted data via php headers. So after the submit, you still see the page with the form on and get a pdf-download now I want to see if the pdf download-window came up and if so, redirect the user to another page (instead of the page where the form is on), but the window to download the pdf should be still there so the user is still able to download the file.
