JQuery :: Remove Validation Message By Checking A Checkbox In It?

I am trying to remove a validation message from the screen when a user checks a checkbox. I do require that the user enter a last name in a text box before they click the submit button. If they dont, the validation message appears. I am trying to hide or clear that validation message when they select a check box on the page. The HTML for it is below but am wondering if you canremove the messagein JQuery.[code]...

The page I am working on will have a series of checkboxes. The boxes will be in the format of "parent" with one checkbox and then a "child" div with multiple checkboxes. The idea is being able to check a parent checkbox and have all the checkboxes in the preceding child div get checked as well.
Here is the layout:

<input type = 'checkbox'/> .....
This does not work. The checkboxes do not get checked.
I know that the selector is working because if I assign a function to them like this:
$(".parent_div INPUT[type='checkbox']").
change(
function(){
var child = $ ( this ).
parent().
next( ".child_div" ); $ ( child ).
children ().
change (
function (){
alert (
"changed"
); }); });
It will work, the function get"s assigned to each checkbox in the div. Why my boxes are not getting checked? On a side note I found this curious, if I try to access the checkboxes by specifying a selector type in the children method like this :
$( child ).
children ( "INPUT[type='checkbox']" )
or
$( child ).
children ( "input" )
It doesn't select the boxes. In case anyone mentions it I know that the child divs are not actually children of the parent divs, all these values are coming from a database and the names were chosen based on the database relationships.

I have a form that produces a few checkboxes via a server side script. Once on the page, the source looks like this...

...what I'm trying to do is pass through the value of the checkbox
ticked through to a function. This function will then, depending on
whether the box is ticked or not, untick the access# checkbox.
I can pass the number through to my function, but I'm having
difficulty trying to reference the actual checkbox from the script.
This is what I've got so far...

As you can see, I can reference the value of the object, but need to
be able to access the related access# object.

A website I'm designing vgdesign.net/thc has a form in the footer. It functions how I want right now (to my knowledge) except for the fact that after a user submits a form and it passes validation, I want a message to be displayed that says "Thank You". I have a class created for this in my stylesheet but I don't know how to trigger it when the form is sent successfully. Essentially, I would like the result to look like this:
If the form doesn't pass validation, I want it to not display until the users fix the errors in the validation pop ups and resubmit. The php script that sends the form contents to the specified email is at the top of my index.php page. The validation tool I'm using is called jquery inline form validations (found here: [URL] How can I have that success message pop up when the form was successfully submitted?

I have some simple in put forms laid out as

the validation works, but the error message appears between the label and the input i would like it to appear beside/after the input, how can i accomplish this?

I've written my own custom validation method using addMethod which works great. But what I'd like to do is change the error message depending on which part of the validation it fails on.

I made a registration form.I have used php,html as well as javascript in it.In the onclick event of submit button I've provided a call to a function written in javascript.Things are workin fine i.e validations are working properly and insertion of values to the database is also ok.
And the problem dat I have is, I want to check whether username and emailid provided is unique with respect to my site...that is no two users can't have same emailid or username.I'm able to retreive the entire emailid and username out of the database.But I don't know where should I place the code for checking the equality.I think that the code should be placed in the javascript validation function..but the code for retreiving values from db is in php.
I'm totally confused.I'm attaching here the registration page that I made...anyone out there please go through it and help me with a solution.

I have a javascript function which checks if the user has enteed certain text into an input or if they have entered any text at all before the submit button which submits the text is able to be activated. if you have a form with pre-checked radio or checkbox elements it is not possible to remove the checked states neither with
$('#id').attr('checked', false);
//or
$('#id').attr('checked', '');
nor with
$('#id').removeAttr('checked');
If the elements are not pre-checked but you check them with mouse click - it works as expected. Background: I have a search form which is prefilled based on previous selections and queries but I need a reset button to clear all checkboxes and fields.

I have a text input, "Pets" and a checkbox "noPetsHS"."Pets" is required except when "noPetsHS" is checked. My validation rule currently is - and does not work? Pets:{required: "#noPetsHS:checked=false", min:1}"Pets" is usually required, very few select the checkbox, but I don't want "Pets" required if they do.I can find no reference to Rules and testing for absence of check and then requiring the text input.

I have created several validations to my forms in the web site.If a particular field is empty then a message box displayed "Please enter name/address/contact number etc.At the same time if I added data successfully to the database there is a message box displaying and saying " Data has been added successfully to the database".But the icon displayed of the message boxes are similar in both these situations.(When something not entered and successfully entered)I want to know how can the icon of the message box can be changed?It should be appeared differently for a successful data entry.....
