The function executes the alert and if the user selects "OK" it completes successfully. However, if the user chooses to back out of the process when the alert fires by closing the alert, the function does not get canceled, it completes the delete of the comment. What do I need to do to make sure the user can successfully cancel this process when the warring is delivered?

Jul 23, 2005I Have a text box in a jsp that is pre populated. The text box should accept only numbers and it should be greater than a minimum value (this value depends on the user settings). If the user enters a value less than the minimum value, i should pop up an alert saying that the value

Mar 24, 2010I've been trying to do something and it's killing me because I can't figure out how to do it properly. I have an input box. I'm validating as the user types. Basically deleting forbidden characters as they type. I'm doing it with the onkeyup event. Problem is this looks kinda crappy because the character they type appears briefly and then get's deleted. I want to know how can I cancel the event that writes on the input box so that instead of deleting the character myself, I just cancel the event. I have no idea if the input box or the window is the one responsible for doing this.

Now, the event listener does capture the event, but I want to cancel the onchange event within the select box. Is that possible?

Jun 15, 2010building a tree using UL,LI tags as below. Issue seems with cancelling event bubbling. trying to cancel dragenter event to avoid dragenter firing for root LI. dragenter on image cancels bubbling. But dragenter on the child text bubbles and fires for Root. Whole purpose is to identify LI where its dropped. Edit: Noticed this is working as expected in IE6 and not working with IE8.

Dec 7, 2009Doing web page with ASP/VB.NET. Have text boxes for UI on page. Two command buttons - Submit (for db update) and Cancel. I need the Cancel button to prompt the user to verify cancellation. Need OK/Cancel buttons on alert. If user selects Cancel-no action. If user selects OK then I want the text boxes cleared of user text input and focus returned to first text box. I think this may be the code but do not know how to apply it.

Aug 11, 2009What I have got is a form that a user has to fill out and submit (when validated all variables are stored in a session and emailed after multiple forms are completed), currently I have radio buttons, text boxes and a combo box/ drop down list (for location). All parts are working fine and validating fine. My problem is to do with the combo box//ddl. I have successfully validated the ddl so the user must select a location onsubmit and it is added to session and passed fine.At the moment the ddl only has cities or towns in it however as I would like to include different states and possibly different countries I need a code that validates the state first and then only gives the cities/towns that are in that state (otherwise my ddl would be to large). I can do this with links however I can't seem to do it in a form.

I am now working on making the selection of that combo box populate another combo box with items from another table. I can hard the sql code for the 2nd combo box so that when I select an option it populates more text boxes, but want the contents of the 2nd combo box to dynamically change depending on the selection of the 1st box. I would like this to do it without refreshing the page after each 1st combo box selection.
The 2nd box does not populate with the below code as I guess the variable isn't populated, I can put '1' in and it selects products with that prodid, but as explained above i'd like it to read the prodid from the 1st combo box.

JQuery :: Change Event Only Fires Once
Sep 9, 2010I have a series of checkboxes on a page and the goal is to run an ajax post each time one of the checkboxes is checked. When the page loads, the first time I click each of the checkboxes everything goes as planned. After I receive the response from my ajax php function and all related events fire, I click the checkbox again and nothing happens. The event listener seems to have stopped functioning.

I'm working on a jQuery UI slider, and I wrote a function for the animation that happens when you start sliding. I would also like this same function to fire for the "change" event, but I can't seem to get it to work.
