JQuery :: Use One Input Text Field To Drive Two Hidden Input Text Fields?
Jul 16, 2011I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change

I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.

This works great except when I hide() the div that wraps this input box. My overall goal is to have the input (and surrounding div) hidden via hide(), and then update this input box when a select is changed.

JQuery :: Autocomplete -changing Value Of Hidden Input
Jan 30, 2009I'm using Jrn's autocomplete jQuery plugin and I'm having trouble changing the value of my hidden input.
The first part works fine - it searches the array and I can select any of the results. However, I'm trying to grab the "id" key value from the array and use it as the value of my hidden input.
Here's my test page.
(I'm using a "GET" form, so submit the form and you'll see that the "account" value submits as empty)

Basically, select "Account Five" from the auto-complete, and it should change the value of my hidden input to "0005".
Seems like it should be a relatively simple solution, but I'm still fairly new to JS and jQuery.
Loading Chart Inside A Hidden <div>?
Aug 3, 2009I am using Flot its a graphing tool.I insert my flot graphing code into my main page which i do not want to show unless the user clicks a show graph button.The code is inserted into my hidden div like so:

When the user clicks the "show graphs" link it changes the property of "mydiv1" to display='Block'.This is where the problems start.
Everything in the <Div> now appears except the chart. If i load the chart on its own it works fine and if i load the chart into a <div> that has its display properties starting off as 'Block' its also fine. The problem only occurs when i change the display property after the page is loaded.
IE7 Loading Hidden Stylesheet Images?
Oct 11, 2009I have a page with a bunch of divs set to display:none with 70kb background images. As buttons are clicked the divs are displayed. The background images are specified in an external stylesheet, pc firefox, mac ff, mac safari and every real browser ignors them until the div is set to display:block, awesome. IE7 still loads every single image when loading the site, is there a way around this? Its about 40 images so obv this is effecting load time.

Jan 19, 2010In a form, I have multiple checkboxes which represent products whose values are the product prices and names are the product names. When a user clicks submit the next page processes it for cart/purchase purposes.
I need to pass the names of each checkbox to the next page as an array, and it seemed the best way to accomplish this would be to have a hidden input which automatically generates that array in the page then gets passed to the next (via POST) so the application can manipulate the data.
My server-side language is PHP on Codeigniter.

Defer Loading Of Images In A Hidden Div Until Div Is Made Visiible?
Apr 29, 2009I am working on a page that has a lot of hidden DIVs on it.I have it so if I mouse over the links on the left, the div and its contents appear. This all works but there are a lot of images in the DIVs and I don't want them to load until a DIV is made visible.How can I keep the browser from loading these images until the DIV housing them is made visible?right now, the page takes a long time to load because it is loading all the images in DIVS that have not been shown and might not get shown if a user does not select that content.

All I'm trying to do is populate value with either 'available', 'not available', 'working' or 'not set'... however, it is worth noting that each cell may have a different value, e.g. 1 cell might be working while the other is not available... so i need to pass the values of all the cells.

The possible values are text, email and URL.I've tried all kinds of "ways" (inline and in function in a variety of ways,) but nothing.
