i have a website where i have on the left side a button menu and on the right side an accordion menu. how can i get it to work, that when a user clicks on a button in the left menu, the associated entry in the accordion menu will open?
I am looking to build as basic as possible, a form that has 3 select dropdowns that have predetermined options. The user will select the first option and based on that option the second will populate and based on that, the third one will give the last option. Now, when the last one is selected, i need a div or a paragraph displaying information to be displayed.So here's the framework.
Option 1 = fruit or vegitables of which fruit is selected is selected by the user Option 2 = Apples, Grapes, and pears of which apples is then selected Option 3 = Red, Green and Yellow of which Green is selected.
Once green is selected, I need a description about the green aple to be displayed.
I have a textbox on one of my forms that is used to accept a time from the user. I need to write this value to a database to trigger an event later on.
What I'd like to know is...
Are there any functions in javascript that can convert different time formats to a known format (24 hour clock)... 5pm -> 17:00 or 5:00 to 05:00, etc. ???
Assuming that I get the input into a 24 hour format, how can I create a full time/date variable with todays date and the users entered time?
Finally, if the entered time is earlier than the current time, how can I create the above date/time combination using tomorrows date?
I'm creating a menu using html, css and a javascript, I found a tutorial to follow online. What I am trying to achieve is when the mouse hovers over the menu items, each item will have a different colour background. the problem is that i can do this but it only works with one colour and not different colours.this is the html:
I'm trying to add .active class to a menu, based on the URI. It works with URL's like: /, /products, /about, /contact but not anymore when you go to /products/some-product.I know what's wrong, but I can't find a working solution. I've tried a regex, but that didn't work either...
The code:
$(function() { var path = location.pathname; if (path) {
I would like to have two columns, the left column showing all available items with an add button. The right column showing all of the added items, and then adding these together to provide an order total, but with the ability for users to add to the quantity or remove from their order.I have the add item to order bit working on, and the sub-total is working.I started to try to add on add/remove buttons to the right #your-order column but am getting stuck.Every time a user adds another item to their order, more buttons are added, and I can't get the "remove item" button working.The page is located here:URL...Should I paste the jQuery code I am using here?
I have a situation where a context menu is being added to the DOM dynamically when a user right clicks on a control on the page. The div that gets added does not have an id set but the div does have a unique class. WhatI need to do is intercept the addition of the div and add a hover affect to some child nodes. Specifically any children that are <a> nodes. So far this is whatI have for adding the hover affect, but i'm not sure where it needs to go or howI link it to the event raised whan a new element is added to the dom.
There is a missing part on my program, it is when you input less than or equal to 65 and greater than 100, a prompt will appear and say "Invalid Entry" and ask you to Input again an entry until you enter a valid entry. For example on Prelim Grade, I input 50, a prompt must appear to say "Invalid Entry" and ask me to input again another entry. Another is how will I terminate the program? When I input an invalid or a valid entry, it is continuing to ask me to input again an entry.Here is my code
modifying an existing function which controls the highlighted states of a multi level js accordion menu. I have had to use javascript due to certain css elements not working in safari browsers.My problem is due to the multi level aspect as when a sub link is clicked, the parent link above it then deselects. I need the parent link to stay active when its sub links are clicked and only deselects when a link outside of that list is clicked upon.I understand the theory of adding a conditional statement but simply don't know how to apply it correctly within the functionHere is the existing function which tells a link to be active or selected:var Lst;
function CngClass(obj){ if (Lst) Lst.className='.topnav'; obj.className='selected';
I have a verticle dropdown menu, which works nicely. The problem is when the window is resized the menu and submenu stay's in it's fixed position, this means that user has to scroll down the page to access bottom links of large submenus. Is there a way to make the menu's shift up depending on the elements in them and the size of window or even have a scroll bar.
I recently started on a tree-folder display and used the Yahoo treeview control. Again it works very well and I am happy with the results. However, after seeing the treeview folder structure, my client asked if it would possible to add a right mouse click context menu to allow users to modify the folder tree -- add new folders, upload files, rename folders, delete folders, etc.
Updating the tree with the new elements is simple enough, but my attempts to implement the context menu have failed miserably. I have studied the Yahoo documentation and I can identify the name of nodes and the label of the element clicked on. But I can't figure out how to add the right-click code to the nodes the YUI Treeview generates.
I have successfully used various right-click Javascript scripts in the past -- but in those cases I was adding the function to an actual HTML element. The YUI elements are generated by the script, and I am at a loss as how to add the code to the generated node elements.
The application is part of a corporate intranet, and will only be used with Internet Explorer 6.0+ on Windows. The new context menu would completely replace the standard Windows context menu.
I am tempted to hack the YUI Treeview script to see if I can add a right click function similar to the Expand, Collapse and Clicked node functions, but I suspect that there is probably a simpler and easier way to do it.
I want to make a vertical superfish menu, which should be shown after hovering over some button... when moving the mouse out from the menu again, the whole menu should disappear. (so a bit like the windows start menu) The first part works (showing the menu after hovering over the button), but I don't know where to add which code to hide the complete menu again, when the mouse leaves the menu...
have a scenario where I show a drop-down-with-few-items in a JSP page, to the user. The length of few options in the drop down is greater than that of the drop down's, hence our requirement is to show the hovered (not selected) option as tooltip for user's convenience. I cannot use the title attribute option as its not compatible with my web browser
I wrote my first script, which was designed for innerHTML, and tann I found a website which showed me a few things. It showed me how to use two links per harder, one shown, one hidden, and they just swap out. The final outcome allows ot to do almost any and everything I want ot to.
I've set the menu to only allow one menu opened at a time. Thus, it is prudent to add an expand all link. I've searched all through the web and have found nothing.

i have a site www.yusinglighting.com.i use javascript entry this site that could open another window,now i want to entry this site that onload a div in current window in the internet, i found many popup div of programs that need "click" like jquery floatbox plug.
I've done a fair amount of PHP development, but am new to Jquery. What I'd like to do is develop a tablet web app that uses custom image buttons for numeric-only data entry to populate form text boxes. Basically, when an image button (0 - 9) is tapped by the user, then the text box having the focus gets that corresponding digit added. There will also be a "back" button to erase, and a "send" button to process the form. It looks like this should be possible to do using Jquery or Jquery UI, but again I'm a newbie with Jquery and am not sure how to proceed.
In a registration form middleName field is optional. When the users enters his/her middleName, then it should validate that field. I have used the following code to achieve the above scenario, but it is not working.
$("#middleName").rules("add", {checkName: true, required: false, messages: {checkName: "Please enter a valid middle name"} }); jQuery.validator.addMethod("checkName", function(value, element) { var regExp = new RegExp(/^[a-zA-Z0-9s|,|.|-|']+$/); return regExp.test(value); }, "Please enter a valid name." ); How to achieve the above scenario.
On my website I have a lot of entries which are similar to blog-entries. Every single entry has about 500 signs and if there are more than there is supposed to be a button "read further"(atm there is no button but later it will be). If the user click this button, the remaining text of the entry is supposed to slide down. My problem is now that I don't know how to slide down just one article. Every article looks like this:
But how to slide down only the "slide_text" which belongs to the clicked article. If I use: $('article').click(function() { $('.slide_text').slideToggle(200); }); Every singe "slide_text" of all the entries appears. But this is not, what I want. Is there a way to toggle just the child-slide_text of one entry? Or do I have to give every entry an id to define which entry is supposed to toggle?
