Input Name Then Submit Then That Name Will Show Up On Other Pages?
Aug 26, 2010
I have a welcome page, where there is a text field and submit button.The user types in their name and press submit which will open up a window to Page 1 and so on.
Now whenever it opens up pages, it will use the name that was inputted on the welcome page.
eg.
Page 1 = Hello, <inputted name>, how are you today.
Page 2 = So, <inputted name>, what are your plans for today?
Page 3 = <inputted name>, would you like to go to the movies?
I'd like to create a quick and dirty validation method for a form. It's not meant to be very secure.
The way I picture it working is this - there is an input field that asks for a password. If the user types in the password correctly, the "submit" div tag will change from "none" to "block". , which will display the submit button. I just am not familiar with JS enough to know if that's possible.
I have a problem on my wordpress blog that is integregated with a 3rd party shopping system. What I'm finding is that the Image Slide Show will not show up on the product page but will show up on other pages. obviously there is some conflict but I don't know where.Example: here is the product listing page while in the header the slide show seems to work fine.Now here is the page if you select one of the t-shirts but as you will see the image slide show in the Header vanishes?
I'm new to javascript and am failing at something quite basic. I'm trying to route users to a specific page based on what they input in a text field. I need to list some zipcodes (in the javascript?) and if they enter a valid zipcode, they are directed to one page and if it's not on the list they will go to another. Please could someone let me know what's wrong with the code?
This is a function to hide and show div Code: function ToggleMaktoba (titleImg){ // the id of the content element from the id of the title element var contentID = titleImg.id.replace (/title/, "content"); var contentDiv = document.getElementById (contentID); if (contentDiv.style.display == "none") { titleImg.src = "images/collapse.gif"; contentDiv.style.display = "block"; } else { titleImg.src = "images/expand.gif"; contentDiv.style.display = "none"; } return false; }
The problem that I have is that this div is viewed on every page on the site, so if I hide it I want it to stay hidden even when navigating threw pages. If I choose to hide it, it stays hidden, and if I chose to show it, it stays shown.
I have some wordpress code which generates a menu with links to the pages created in the admin area.
[Code]...
The id of active is on the currently selected menu item. In the above code the home page. How can I get the subnav to show only if the main menu item which contains a subnav is active? The rest of the time I want the subnav hidden. I have found the effect I want on another site [URK]. If you select advanced treatments a sub menu appears. If you select say jobs then the subnav for advanced treatments disappears.
have added a javascript button to my website that allows me to submit information with out refreshing the page, this works perfectly in Mozilla, however in IE the button doesn't display and in the bottom right hand corner of the browser is the little yellow triangle with the word done with errors.
What I'm making is like a slow chat to communicate with faraway friends. I want to disable only an input with the id "name" after the user submits a form. I also want to store the input in a cookie for later. (So if the user logs in again the input is disabled with the "name" in it.)
I was stuck at the disabling. The problem is that every time the user clicks on submit, the page refreshes and the disable switched off. Isn't there a simple way to fix this?
So far, the Javascript is:
Code: function disable(){ document.getElementById('name').disabled=true; }
I'm trying to do the standard show/hide DIV, but the system I'm trying to use it in is basically this: My site has an application form submit area, and I've got a page where I can view a table with all applicants' details. One of the table fields is just a link to "view full message" (which is a text area field from the form), what I want to do is have this link display in a DIV elsewhere on the page. It needs to change according to which table row is selected.
Normally, a button like <input type="image"is also a submit button. Is there any way to override that so that it has an onclick event but does not submit the form?
For what I'm trying to do, I cannot use an <imgelement with onclick. I have to use a form element (and I'd rather have an image than a button)
I am trying to take a form input field and take what was entered and grab the first 8 character of what was entered and then submit that to a form instead of what was entered.
I've been trying to figure out with a search box I've added how it can submit by pressing the 'enter' key rather than just clicking a 'submit' button beside a form. I've tried onkeypress but as soon as you press one button the field submits. I've also seen you can do with keycode==13 but I'm not sure how to add it into my code.
How To show Div After Click (tell friend) link and hide div after onsubmit form ? (Using Jquery or java script) Example : TELL FRIENDS CLICK LINK <div id="formhide"></div> (default is hidden). After Click Show Loading Message and show form for send data to any email . so if Form is valid Show loading message and message Success ! so hide dive ( to default).
I have the date picker working grand on an input field, what I need to do is submit the value to two different input fields in two different formats, so a textbox and a hidden field, the textbox has the long format which is what I'm currently using bu tI need the hidden field to have the value like '2011-02-01'.
I have a html form with three input text box. one of the three is disabled by the help of this postmy question on jquery forum.no I want that if any of two of the input box is empty submition button will be disabled if allenteredthen submit button will be enabled.
It seems like it should be simple, but I don't see what I'm missing. Right now, the search button displays directly under my input field. I've gone through the CSS, but can't figure out where my code is forcing the button onto its own line. What am I missing? How can I bring it up to the same line?
<script language = "Javascript"> function echeck(str) { var at="@" var dot="." var lat=str.indexOf(at) var lstr=str.length var ldot=str.indexOf(dot) if (str.indexOf(at)==-1){ alert("Invalid Email") return false } ..... The form submits even if no input is provided. The database get updated with blank values.
I have one document that resides in an iFrame, and it contains anywhere from 1 to 4 forms, depending. There is a dynamic content area that will display between zero and three forms, each named uniquely, associated with files that exist in a database. Regardless of the number of forms associated with a file, at the bottom of the document is one last form named NewDoc - this last form is used for uploading a new file into the database, or replacing a file.With one exception, this is working flawlessly.The user is supposed to choose a file for upload, use a SELECT input to say what document type it is, then click on the submit button.
What is actually happening, however, has me confuzzed. When the submit button is clicked the first time, the value of the input="file" element becomes blank and nothing happens. If a file is chosen, again, and the submit button clicked, it uploads with no problem and the database does what it's supposed to. But if I refresh the document and try, again, same thing - the file disappears from the form element and the form does not submit.First, the forms (all three, just in case):
URl...The idea is a like button, like on fb, in a form which updates a db field I can use to display the number of likes, and my goal is to disable the like button for the rest of the session, or a day, or whatever. This script disables it onclick, the problem is I can't figure out how to get it to submit the form as well.I have found it does submit if the input type is 'submit', but then it doesn't call the disable function. I tried writing another function to submit the form but no go.[code]
var el = document.createElement("iframe"); el.setAttribute('id', 'ifrm'); document.body.appendChild(el); el.setAttribute('height', 250);
[Code].....
And am putting it between <script type="text/javascript"> and </script> tags in the <body> section of my site. But, it only works in certain areas of the page.
