How To Show "Disclaimer" Page Once.
May 3, 2002
I am developing a small company information site. One of the pages "Financial Services", for example, has links to 6 - 8 info pages.
What I want to achieve here is to show a "Disclaimer" page before the viewer get to one of the info pages. Also, I wants to set it up so that the viewers only have to see the "Disclaimer" page the first time they link to info pages.
Is this kind of thing possible in JavaScript?

I run an adult social network. I'm trying to have a lightbox disclaimer popup once per user visit with an accept/decline button at the bottom. I don't want the user to be able to click out of the lightbox, scroll the window in the back ground, or get around the lightbox any other way... Currently, I paid someone to do this for me and this is the code they came up with. The problem is, all it does is show a white box in the middle of the page, no disclaimer, no content. Also, the webpage in the background is still scrollable...

I am looking for a way to show a picture on a page before the page loads.
for example. I already have a page but I want to show the visitors a image for 5 seconds before they can see the rest of the page.
Is this possible an if so how can I get it.
Maybe a script or a link where I can find it.

I have a frameset with nav on the left frame and pages on the right
frame. The users would like the destination Url to show up on the
address bar as they navigate to different portions of the site.
Since it is a framset, it always displays the root url. Is there a way
in javascript/html/dhtml to do this?

Newbie looking for the way have a dialog box and when a user goes to
this page they see *nothing*, Except for a dialog box pop, the box says:
"are you sure?" Yes/No. If user clicks yes they see the rest of the page
- (just some simple html). Else no, they might see a message that says

I don't have a lot of experience with javascript, so I've been looking for this problem for a few hour now. I can't seem to find a clear answer, I've got a webpage layout that is always in the middle of my screen, and is about 900px wide. The reason I cannot just let my browser automatically handle the horizontal scrollbar is because of the floating DIV on the right (overfow:auto makes the scrollbar visible at all times). That's why my overflow-x is now hidden with css. It's looks good like this on my screen, but of course this is not an ideal solution for people with a lower resolution. To be more clear, I've uploaded a small picture for example here: [URL] I think the problem could be solved with a simple javascript, that tells my browser something like if width < 900, then show the horizontal scrollbar. But since I'm an absolute javascript noob, I can't figure that out on my own.

I am running a simple show hide div script as follows:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function toggle_visibility(slideshow) {
var e = document.getElementById(slideshow);
if(e.style.display == 'block')
e.style.display = 'none';
else
e.style.display = 'block';
}
//-->
</script>
<a href="#" onclick="toggle_visibility('slideshow');">Show Gallery + </a>
<div id="slideshow" style="display:none">slideshow</div>
It works but the page reloads and returns the user to the top of the page not to the "shown" div. Any way to send them back to the shown div or stop the reload?

I am trying to use javascript to hide a div before the page loads. Unfortunately for a brief second I can see the div on the page before the java script hide it. Is there anyway to set the javascript to hide the div before the page completely loads?
<script type="text/javascript" src="prototype.lite.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="moo.fx.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="moo.fx.pack.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var forgotpass = document.getElementsByClassName('forgotpass');
window.onload = function() {
forgotpass = new fx.Combo('forgotpass', {height: true, opacity: true, duration: 500});
// Hide Div
forgotpass.hide();
}
</script>
P.S. I'm using the hide function within the moo.fx.js file found @ http://moofx.mad4milk.net/. If there is an easier way to di by just write the javascript out in the onload function please let me know.

My webcraft pages has 2 frames one for menu and another to load the cooresponding page selected in the menu. When clicking a link in the menu some page are taking long time to load in the right frame. So i wud like to show page is loading message till the page is loaded in the frame. I tried with some methods but its not working. Am not sure whats going wrong.
1. Every time your page loads a "init()" function will load.
2. Define a div named "loading" right after <body> section.
3. Place this javascript code right after you define the div.
I used the above method also but not working. Is it because am loading it in a Frame? If so what i have to do to show the message.

I have a page that is generated using php. Below, the pdf newsletter for each month is embedded directly into the page. What I want to do is have some javascript that when the link for a month is clicked, the embedded pdf expands below and when the user clicks on another month, that newsletter is hidden then the one they clicked on gets displayed; so only one newsletter is displayed at a time.
