My webcraft pages has 2 frames one for menu and another to load the cooresponding page selected in the menu. When clicking a link in the menu some page are taking long time to load in the right frame. So i wud like to show page is loading message till the page is loaded in the frame. I tried with some methods but its not working. Am not sure whats going wrong.
1. Every time your page loads a "init()" function will load.
2. Define a div named "loading" right after <body> section.
3. Place this javascript code right after you define the div.
I used the above method also but not working. Is it because am loading it in a Frame? If so what i have to do to show the message.
This thing is being seen on many websites...! while page is loading.. user see a page loading Icon until the page loads..! i dont knw wht exactly it is called.? some links or script so that i can us e it for my page..!
The problem is my visitors see the page is loading data from skysa.com if they're using a firefox browser for instance. And theres no way to change the status bar text in firefox using javascript as far as I know.Is there ANY way to change or mask this status bar message. Can I have sth else loading continuously in order to keep the status bar busy and mask any other information? Or can I have this bar loaded from a different page on my server that is mirroring the code?
I'm looking for a solution where I can show hidden parts of a page when a person submits a successful captcha. Of course, the parts of the page that are hidden shouldn't be available for viewing via code. Is this possible to do? Are there any scripts available that enable me to do this without reloading the whole page or loading a new one?
I'm working on a chat box. Everything works fine with the chat contents in a separate frame except when it reloads. I'm using the <meta> reload and I don't like how obvious the refresh is. Could someone tell me how I can refresh the frame without having the status bar and tabs showing it loading.
If you see this site: [URL]. You will see the button +info. By clicking there, I show or hide a <div> using the below js function:
<script language="javascript"> function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("toggleText"); if(ele.style.display == "block") { ele.style.display = "none"; } else { ele.style.display = "block"; window.scrollTo(100,300) }} </script>
The problem I have here, is that each time the "next" or "prev" buttons are pressed (< or >) reload the page, and I want to reload the URL but with last status for the ele.style.display. I don't know if I am clear enough, but for instance, I open the website home, then click in +info, it shows the hidden div, then click in next button ">", I want that +info is opened if previously it was opened.
For a site I will be working on, It will require people to upload large files. We don't want the users to think that nothing is happening, so we would like to be able to show a progress meter of the progress of the upload.
The file will be submitted through a normal form on a page (or any other way possible through the browser). Is there a javascript progress bar I could use for this purpose?
when i click a#showhide link, the 'p#optbox' is shown.now my problem is, when i click again 'p#optbox' should hide.how to check the show hide status of an eliment using ? i did not find a good jquery conditional statement thing when google
I have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.
I have a lot of javascript functions that request information from an iframe hidden on the page. I see other sites do this, but their browser does not do the loading action (like the processing circle in Firefox). When I do it on my site, each browser shows the loading icon, as if a page was loading. Is it possible to not have this?

That is a sample link. Go down right side of page where you see three buttons: Trailers Featurettes Clips.Those return iframe information to work.
I'm currently putting together a website. On one of my pages, I get "Error on page" in the status bar when viewing it in Internet Explorer. I don't get this message in Firefox. I have an external javascript (code below) for tooltips on the webpage. I did not write the script, I merely changed one or two things. When I double click the status bar to see what the message is, it says:'tt.timer' is null or not an object. Line: 70Char: 3 I'm new to javascript, and so I'm not sure of what I need to alter.
var tooltip=function(){ var id = 'tt'; var top = 3;
I am trying to call submit.php with ajax but nothing was happening. when I narrowed it down I found that http.status=500.everything i have read about this says that this is a server error but I can put other website in the same folder on the same server and it works fine.this is the ajax call
i have a login area (user/pass text boxes). when the user submits the form, the page is reloaded with with a global php variable "loggedIn" set to true. i also store the username and password in the page in a hidden form -- so that it can be passed to other pages on the site through standard navigation (maintaining the "loggedIn" status). however, is there any way to save this information if the user hits refresh?
as it stands, whenever the user hits refresh, the user/pass data is lost, and loggedIn is set to false. can this be worked around without using cookies?
I have created a party-events website. Which displays a lot of dates of events. As you might understand this page takes some time to load. Therefor I want some of loading image to be displayed while the page is loading. Anybody has an idea how to pull this of? I don't know how.
In detail: People come to my website. They click on "events" and a loading.gif pops up and and makes the background darker. After the page has completely loaded the loading image disappears and the website shows.
Preloading images has got to be JS 101. However, it does not seem to be working. Here is the function that I am using. I added the alerts to make sure it is working and all the right alerts show up, yet when I do my mouseover, it still takes about a second (only the first time) to load the image (thumbnail).
loadims(max, letter) {//loads information images if (document.images) { max++; alert(max); for(i=1; i < max; i++) { rslt = new Image(); imgn = 'm/' + letter + i + '.jpg' rslt.src = imgn alert(imgn); } loaded = true; }}
I recently set up a JQuery script to show and hide a specific DIV on my site. Everything is working correctly except when the page is loading, the DIV is fully expanded and hides as it's supposed to a few seconds later. Ideally, I would like this DIV to remain hidden until the user actually clicks on it. This seems to be a performance issue, but honestly I am a JavaScript novice so I really don't know where to go from here.
The page in questions is here. And the specific areas that use this script are the "Change Log" and "Readme" boxes.
I have a button on my site, which when clicked calls an ajax function. What I want to do though, is append a loading graphic for just 2 seconds inside the button such that it looks as if the website is 'busy' saving when the button is clicked. This is obviously just for user feedback as the 'save' is done instantly - it's just for user feedback to make the user confident that the save button has worked. To do this, I'm trying to append a loading image to the save button, delay for 2 seconds, then remove the image, but it doesn't seem to work.
I have this HTML:
<p><a href="#" title="" class="save">Save</a></p> And this jQuery: $ (
I have an iframe and I want to display a loading animation to the user until the iframe is fully loaded, this is want I did:
1. I start the iframe with style:display:none 2. I have a div that wraps the iframe 3. When the iframe is fully loaded a method is called from the iframe 'removeDivs', I change the div to be invisble with style:display:none and I set the iframe to be visible with stle:display:"" 4. The problem: Because the div wraps the iframe, after changing the style of the iframe its stay invisible, the property I set doesn't affect.
I am having a little problem trying to show a loader (An animated GIF) while some request to a database happens. I have a page where the user selects a YEAR and when they select it with AJAX I perform a request to a database to get all the values for that specific year.
The problem is that there is a lot of information (4000+ records) that I need to query and show in a table (Actually I didn't use a table I use DIVs that look like a table), and when the user selects the year the webpage freezes for about 5 seconds and then it loads all of the data.
Is there a way to sort of show an image loader gif while the data is being gotten? I tried putting the loader image in the DIV container while no year is selected and then once the request is done, I substitute the DIV container's contents (The image loader) for the data from the database.
My goal is to load the JS for a specific element before displaying that element. I integrated a third part script, and it works well. I set the timer here:
The JS is in my heading as <script type="text/javascript" src="countdownpro.js"></script>
About mid-body I have: <span id="countdown1">2010-07-20 00:00:00 GMT+00:00</span> which allows for the setting of a target date to countdown to.
When the page first loads it shows the above long format target time, until the js/meta tags kick in to modify it to just show the actual countdown as 00:00:00.
I have attached countdownpro.js to this post. I tried shifting the function CD_Init() to the top of the script, and also appended it inline with the .html. I tried setting the big external script to "defer", but neither arrangement worked. I also tried placing the src file right at the top.
i want to make a iframe page that loading a page from other site. I have try "jQuery iFrame Sizing" to set auto height in iframe... but it is failed.
This is my code : ------------- on Head <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/iframe.js"></script> on Body
I'm designing a web page, Having a banner on top, then a search option following it.There is a menu item list below it on to the left.And the content of the links of those menu item should get loaded in the center of the page.And a footer having some copyright info.All these are in div tags. The problem is when i click on any menu item it should be loaded in the center div tag.Ive tried using Iframes but there is a scrollbar coming only in that area of center div tag.I don't wan't this to happen.Based on the size of the html page to be loaded the div tag size should increase, and so the whole page.Have tried using Ajax but not working.
