I work at a call center, and we use different webapps to fill out tickets. One I've used for a long time allows dynamically updating forms with javascript. I have a whole bunch of bookmarked javascript injections like:
javascript:if((top.detail.findObj('X31').value="Inquiry")!="");
That code will fill out most everything in that ticket, leaving me to fill in the details. I have one of those for all of the most common tickets, and can create and finish a ticket in less than 30 seconds when it takes others 3-4 minutes.
I recently switched to a different system and I'm having trouble with my code. The system we use doesn't allow me to see the source... I'm not sure how to explain it. It loads everything in a frame. In chrome I can right click then inspect element and get the ID but it the above javascript doesn't work. Examples:

I'm trying to access the function-scooped variable "matched" and set it's value to "true". The problem is that it seems like the variable is existing as a local variable inside the lambda function, even if it's not declared inside the lambda function itself. So, the change "matched = true;" does not effect the variable that I declared.

I'm using a text area to display textual updates to a user from the server. I'm inserting the text at the bottom of the textarea and need to set the scrollbar to the bottom of the textarea after every update. The problem is that the onChange event only fires if the user actually changes something in the text area, not if it is changed by an ajax update.Does anyone know of a way to detect if there has been an update to a textarea that was NOT triggered by a user?

I'm reasonably familiar with PHP (I use a lot of it to do simple things). But when the button is clicked, nothing will call the showCaption() function again, and I can't figure out how to call that function as the images advance. I have tried a lot of things with a lot of weird results, one being the tne next caption will display in a blank browser window, without the Webpage! I'm not sure why that happens, but I have a clue.
Is there an easier way to do what I want to do? I only want to show a few lines of text that will describe each image. Seems simple enough to me, but I'm just too new to make it work.

I am trying to change my cursor to a help cursor for a webapp I'm helping to develop. It partially works, except when an element has a CLASS attribute. For example:

Inside every TD tag I want to format data using CSS3, like using box-radius and/or text-shadow. The problem is that I see only the record data inside the tag without no formatting! why?
