Below is my script. This will let me click and drag an item on my site. I need the image to not only do this, but also snap to a specific location. There will be approx. 30 items that will be snapping to the same location.
<head><style type="text/css">
.drag{
position:relative;
cursor:hand;
z-index: 100;
}
</style><script type="text/javascript"> .....
dragobject.initialize()
</script>
</head>
<body>
<img src="test.gif"><br>
<img src="test2.gif"><br>
<b>"Hi there</b>
</body>
So I have an image, id="image", and I have coordinates and some other stuff feeding out of it into an array on a mouse click. Now what I want is for a small image to appear on the place where the mouse is clicked as well. I was told jQuery would be able to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any cross-browser method of determining whether a click event was triggered by a mouse left click or the keyboard's 'enter' key? I was expecting event.button, or event.which to be able to do this, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Checking event.clientX == 0 && event.clientY == 0 works in FF, but not in IE.

I'm trying to cancel out a mouse click event on a specific div so that it does nothing, (although there is a link to a pdf in the div that needs to work). this div's container div is an overlay has a jQuery function assigned to it that fades it out, but it fades out itself and this contaned div, (the one that i want to cancel the mouse click event), how can i do this?!?

View 1 Replies View Relatedin a table I want to have a specific click event (calling a function) for the first cell of each row and another function call e.g. for the third table cell.I assigned different class names to these cells and used this script:$("#tab_kat tr").find(".firstCell").bind("click", function() { ... });And the same for ".thirdCell".But is this possible without assigning class names to reduce the size of the code?Something like that:$("#tab_kat tr td.cells[1]").bind("click", function() { ... });

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've to simulate right mouse click with left mouse click only in a specified class.
I thought that I've to do something like this:
$('.my_class').click(function(){
$(this).trigger( /* right click */ );
});
I've to replace /* right click */ with the correct right click event but I didn't find it. I tried in that way:
$('.my_class').click(function(){
var event = jquery.Event('click');
event.which = 3;

I've been trying to have an image be placed during a mouse over or mouse click event. The closest to accomplishing this is having the image be replaced by the image I want to overlay.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am completely new to Javascript and html... but not to programming.
I'm trying to modify something that someone wrote and trying to keep it standardized... meaning they way the did it. Here is an example of what they did. code...
What I'd like to do is display a png image file in a similar fashion if possible... I'm not sure if it can be done use getElementById.
Actually, I'd like to do <div> instead of a table so that I can layer images. I've converted the table above to using <div>, but again, I can't figure out how to do this with an image file.
The main reason for doing this is because I'd like to use the setTimeout feature.
My CMS won't let me customize their HTML structure they didn't give me access to their templating system. But they'd let me access their Head section were I could add custom Javascript and CSS. Example this would be their template structure:
<body>
<div id="wrapper">
<div id="maincontent"> Maincontent </div>
<div id="left"> Left Contents </div>
[Code].....
The reason why the injections was structured like that is, I want the regular divs to be rounded. the Inject1, Inject2, Inject3 would be style in my external CSS. I think it would also be great if it was like a class that i can just be apply it to specific ids or class.
I have some simple rollover code here where I take the rel of an anchor and show the corresponding html ID.
I would like to set the location of the appearance of the tooltip using jquery. So, basically I want to secure the mouse location and append it to the CSS.
How do I do this?
I am in the process of developing a website. I would like to use some images. The image should zoom on mouse over and mouse click i.e the image should zoom to h:100*W:100 on mouse over and on mouse click it should be zoomed to h:1000*w:1000. Also I would like to change the mouse over image and mouse click image before zooming.

document.write to display the thumbnails in one division while showing text

All I've seen so far is that document.write('does this') and that's it.
Nobody expands on this and explains what else you can do with it.
It's like they're more interested in showing you the ads than the
information you need.
If my understanding is correct

I am curious if it is possible to use jQuery to simulate a rollover event after a page has loaded entirely.
Essentially, if you had a navigation menu with dropdown lists, could you make the lists drop down in order, one after another, each for 5 seconds, after the page has finished loading entirely?
I would like to create a plugin that I can put before a click event on a button. The click event should occur if the user's time on the page hasn't expired. The plugin should check the user's time, and then stop the click event if the time has expired. With the plugin, I'm essentially putting two click events on the same button, as I need to check the expiration when the button is clicked. The plugin is working on my test page, but I'm afraid that this is contingent on an arbitrary ordering of the click events by jQuery. If I have my click event chained after my plugin, can I be assured that the plugin would always stop the click event if the time is expired? Or could jQuery execute the click event before the time gets checked?
(function( $ ){
$.fn.checkExpiration = function(
$this = $(this);
return this.each(function(){3
