If I copy a fairly large chunk of text from this website, like a sentence, then somehow they are able to include the website's URL as well in the copied text. How do they do this? I assume it uses JS to achieve this. [URL]
A while ago I queried how to count total characters in an output document and never really got anywhere. this query builds on from that. basically what I need to do is as follows.
- Using a basic input form, gather information. - Populate strDoc with the info. - When the button is clicked, the strDoc is populated and formatted and displayed in a popup window using:
What I'm trying to do is create a function that will count all characters in the strDoc (including spaces/LF/CR etc). If the total of the output doc is > 3800 characters, then the function will separate the doc into chunks no greater than 3800 characters and display each chunk in either a different window or a single window labled in order of chunk (ie. 1, 2 or 3).
This is way beyond me at this stage, but is critical to a project I'm working on at the moment.
I'm having a problem with copying text into the # code window. When I select the code that I want to copy, after opening the code window, I can only paste the code line by line instead of pasting the entire block of code. I can copy the entire block into word/notepad. Is there a technical issue preventing this from working?
I currently have some buttons representing letters and a textbox. When a button is clicked, its value is copied into the text box. I have an onkeyup event which means that every time a button is clicked, a function is called which searches some arrays using the current text box value.
However, the problem I am currently having is that the onkeyup event which calls the function works if I type the value in using my computer keyboard, but not when using the buttons (even though the buttons enter values into the textbox).
How I can make it so that when I press a button, the onkeyup event triggers and the function is called?
I want this to work like a tracking system where it gets the gps long and lat from the iphone and then adds it to a sql table (id, user_id, long, lat). I have the code to get the long and lat but how do i get the script to add them to a sql query from java? Also how can i get the script to refresh every 15 mins to overwrite the last long and lat?
The code below adds a text box, onclick. Each box has a label that includes myVar but I cannot figure out how to place the value of myVar in the text box.
I have a table on HTML page to which I am adding new rows on button click. As i need the user to enter the data in the table I have inserted textboxes in the cells of the table. how shall I assign the text box to the cells of the new row added.[code]
I have a web site written in html. I want to have a warning message in my web page saying they are not allowed to copy any of my data. Also, if they do copy, how can i tell who copied my data?
I am using counter to count characters in text area. Now the problem, if the number of characters calculated = 160 characters, then when I send the paragraph to my mobile phone, I get 162 characters, I got the reason, but can't find solution yet. Example: write normal paragraph in the text area without clicking on "enter button",when you are typing the paragraph, if the current word faced the end of the line, the whole word will be dropped to second line and so on, please see red star indicator. The text will be organized itself inside the textarea, but at each line if the word dropped down, I noticed 2 spaces will be added to the previous row.
I am looking for a javascript code for this idea under this messageI want to create a kind of shopping website so when you click on a image or text it will add some text to a textarea,, it will include the name of item and price of an item
I have a series of elements on the page that have been assigned anonymous functions as a user works with them. At a certain point I would like to take a element and all of its children and copy them from their current location and into a newly created element. Then remove original version and all its children.
I have done the above by using innerHTML to copy the element and its children to a temp variable.. problem is that I think my copy has lost all these anonymous function that was assigned to the original version. Has anyone ever faces the problem of trying to copy a series of elements and losing their anonymous assigned functions in the copied version? If so whats the work around on this?
why the iFrame resize code would stop working when I copy the code over to another page? It works fine here: [URL]... But when I copy the code over to another page (www.rjt-online.com/video.php) in it's entirity, and just change the urls, it stops working?
Is it possible to use javascript to trigger download of some text on the website? For example, if I have some text in a Div that I want the user to be able to download. Can the text be downloaded as a text file then?
I'm a AJAX newbie, I was wondering if I can use the .responseText method, to load the text from other website? For example, how can I download the data from "[URL]" and display the data in my own way? It seems that the .responseText/.responseXML does not work here...
and in this code, it works, the call is made and text is added. in the other code I don't get a change at all. Not even in the database that add.php manipulates.
like for example i have text areas named upload1 and upload2when I click or add input on upload1 a drop down list below upload2 will not change, but when I add input on upload2 the dropdown will select "parts"
I'm trying to sort a countdown clock for my website: [URL] My vision of it was a transparent background, Blue text and a simple Day : Hour : Minute : Second Layout. I found a free .js countdown clock at [URL] I havn't used .js much
I'm trying to code a feature for my website using DHTML where the person viewing the website can rotate between viewing the positive/negative points of the website being reviewed. This example was in the publication called Using HTML 4 by Lee Anne Phillips. Code:
I have a ajax program on a page on website A. And I need to let it talk to a program on website B. I tried to put website B into the url of the parameter but it doesn't work.It gives me a "[objet XMLHttpRequest]" error.here is the code on website A:
I do pretty much all the computer related tasks, which includes computer system repair, audio/video editing, cd/dvd printing and duplication, document format and creation, etc etc. But when it comes to HTML (or other codes) I know very little. But we needed a website, so I use Homestead hosting and the Homestead (offline) Site Builder program.
Anyway, inside the sight builder program, they have the option to insert HTML Snippets. Which I use for various objects, off site tools, and other. But now I need to do something for which I have not been able to find a "premade" html code object, that can perform the task desired. I have searched and searched google and went through many sites, including this one. I have tried to take some codes which I thought I could alter to make it perform, but they just wouldn't work for what I needed them to do.
I need a code that will automate a "specific text message" to change daily, and to schedule a "different specific text message" to appear each day. I need to be able to schedule each days "texts" at the very least 31 days in advance. In other words, I need to make an array (I think that's what it is called) for the entire month:
Day 1 "today's text 1" Day 2 "today's text 2" Day 3 "today's text 3"
[code]....
If were possible to make an "array" that would go six months out (or more) that would be very helpful! But the longest that I have seen is one month at a time, so that may be as long as they go, but I'm not sure.On top of all of this, I need these changes to be performed at a specific time of the day. I would like them to be preformed at sunset everyday, but I don't think there is anyway to direct the code to look at like [URL] sunset times or such. So if I can at least choose a specific hour, like 8:00 pm, that will work, I will just have to adjust this every once in a while.
However, I don't want it to change just at 8:00pm in my timezone. I need it to change at 8:00pm according to the website viewers timezone. Is there a way to make the code "look" at the users computer and "get their time" and use that to adjust what text is displayed? In other words, I live in Indiana USA. If someone in Australia looked up the webpage on the 15th day of the month, but it was 9:00pm Their Time. The text I need to be displayed should be for "Day 16" from the array.
I'm having a problem with .attr(). I will explain it whith code.I have this HTML code:
<p id="textoMarca0" onmouseover="muestraDialog('textoMarca0');"> this is an example paragraph </p>
[code]....
So now the onmouseover has again its value [the original one, copied by doing an alert($("#"+elem+i).attr('onmouseover')) when i disable the onmouseover event], but it doesn't work
