I have two pages, page A include "btnOK" button page B include "logon" button and iframe . After I clciked Page B "logon" button , I want to trigger javascript to search Page A button(object) in iframe object and click it,but got the error below as "//Error - Got object error even in the same site html" In short, I want to click Page A OK button by Page B javascript but not work.My target browser is IE, could you please advise me how can I complete this code?
Page B Code:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" >

I am trying to get the event to attach to the button but it doesn't want to work the way I was thinking it should I keep getting the error Error: this.altme is not a function Source File: http://trainrec.localhost/jstest.php Line: 22
I have an iframe that includes a button: <input type="button" value="close this window" onclick="window.close();" >
I would like to detect the iframe close event from the parent window, I was using this code but I did something wrong because the temp function is fired every time the parent page loads:
function temp(){ alert('the iframe was closed'); } function setup(){ var myIFrame = document.getElementById("iframe1"); if (myIFrame.addEventListener) { myIFrame.addEventListener('onclose', temp(), false); }else if (myIFrame.attachEvent) { myIFrame.attachEvent ('onclose',temp); }else{ myIFrame.onclose=temp(); } } window.onload=setup;
I have an object that has a click event I'm trying to trigger. However in the click event I have the following if statement:
if(event.button != 0){return true;}
This if statement allows right clicks to go through and activate but it also prevents me from triggering the event. Any ideas on how to prevent this? If I remove the if statement from the first click function everything works as intended.Here's my example code based off of the trigger event examples:
However, when using Firefox, version 3.6, the following error messages are displayed in the Firebug console when links "Page 3" and "Page 4" are clicked:
I am trying to add an onclick event to a dynamically generated element. This happens in an iframe, but the element is being added to the parent document, and I need to associate the onclick event with a function in the parent document. When I add it from the iframe and then click on the image, I get an error saying the function does not exist.
var img = parent.document.createElement('img'); img.onclick = function() { doSomething() }; parentDiv.appendChild(img); //parentDiv is an element in the parent document
I also tried: img.setAttribute('onclick', 'doSomething(this);'); This worked great in Firefox, but not in IE.
I have a page that includes an iframe, i want to execute a script after the whole page is loaded and also after the iframe content is loaded too, which event i should use?
Inline scripting makes this easy but I'm getting Typeof MissMatch error when I use Unobtrusive script and I think it's because of the diffrence between DOM and DHTML.
INLINE:
HTML Code:
Unobtrusive attach event listner/external js.
Code:
This writen in the js of the index.html containing the IFRAME 'display' runs once imediatley on load then imediatley after throws 'typeof mismatch' error.
what happens when you have an onclick event and an error occurs in it:
In an <a> element: onclick="zoomFullExtent(); return false;"
I know that there is an error happening in zoomFullExtent. I didn't define my own error handler, so the default one is used.(My browser is Firefox 1.0).
I notice that when this error happens, the browser makes a request to the server.
I thought that if an error happened in zoomFullExtent, the default error handler would catch it, and then zoomFullExtent would return normally. But that doesn't seem to happen. Instead the whole onclick script returns or is aborted? And it seems to return true so that the request is made. Is there a page where this program flow is explained?
I have PHP file called file1.php with an empty <div></div> in the middle. I've added a 'load' event listener so that on page load, it calls an AJAX function that calls file2.php. file2.php creates a table and loads it into the <div></div> in file1.php.
file2.php has <a> tags in it's <th> columns and I wish to trap when a user clicks on the column heading. The old way was to use the onclick() method but I'd rather use event listeners.
Here's my problem. I am getting "obj has no properties" when trying to add those listeners. I *think* it is because the code in file2.php isn't part of the original DOM tree for file1.php. So how can I use event listeners instead of onlclick()? I know I can add top the DOM by creating elements and appending them but that adds to the HTML code and my code is already in place via the AJAX call. What to do...? DO I just use the old passe onclick() method?
I am wondering how Back, Forward browser button works for iframes. Does it bring back/forward iframe or top window? I remember I had before a problem because I wanted to bring back iframe and not top window as it did. But today I tested my Facebook app and was surprised to see it works as I need which means it brings back/forward iframe window and not top. Is it possible that Facebook has some javascript code which does that or is this normall behaviour?
Talking about a js script which changes an iframe src through a "ref_to iframe.setAttribute("src", document_path);", I would like to launch a check() fct when this new document is loaded.
Of course, knowing, I don't want (and can't n some cases where document is generated by a cgi script) to edit every possible document which is potentially loadable in the iframe.
In fact, I've through about the idea to on fly add an "onload='check ()'" to every document, but don't know how to do that :-(
Maybe using attachEvent or something arounnd this : I don't know. Of course, I wish a solution working in the majors browsers.
Can I fire an event in the host page when a contained IFrame finishes loading? The page being loaded can come from anywhere (i.e. other sites), and I need to know how long it takes to load.
When the user clicks on a link within that frame, the frame posts back (2. site is being displayed)....from this time on the above mentioned call does not work anymore. The code is located outside, so it should not touch anything. The strange thing is, that it works for the first site, but not for sub sites?The structure looks like the following:
I'm loading an html page into an iframe from an onclick event. The procedure is to put a number into a textfield and then click a button that loads a separate file into the iframe. The number is used as a url parameter to grab certain info from mysql (locations.php?sku= the number ).On first click the page loads in the iframe with no info at all, then if I reload the page by way of the reload button in browser and then click the button a second time, it works. If I change the number and click the button nothing changes until I reload and click the button again. This is the code I'm working with---
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> url = document.regionbar.sku.value; function doClick() {[code]......
I have some jQuery making ajax requests that works just fine if the server returns a 200 but whenever it returns any error HTTP status none of the events fire. It's happening on more than one request to different servers but I'll just include one example for now:
The request gets made just fine, I can see the response in the net console in firebug and it returns the data I want with a 500 when I do not complete the form correctly. However, it does not fire either the error or the complete function when I get this status, and the ajaxResponse.responseText is undefined when it is logged to the screen. When the form is completed and the request is successfull the success function fires just fine.
