[URL ] The easiest way to show my problem is for you to view the slider in firefox and IE7. Clicking on the MORE DETAILS button slides down the tab..what i need to figure out though is why in Firefox there is a massive gap underneath and IE it appears fine..also the box appears smaller and in firefox the background image is getting clipped.
[Code]....
so im trying to get this to work [URL] and in fireworks, it works fine, but in safari, if i try to click from top to bottom, it doesnt work, but if i try to click from bottom to top, it works.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy script is throwing an error only in IE8. I'm using Mootools 1.3.The error thrown is: Object doesn't support this property/method.The IE8 debugger is telling me that the error is this (line in bold):
Code:
append: function(original){
for (var i = 1, l = arguments.length; i < l; i++){
var extended = arguments[i] || {};[code].....
The above code is around line 380 in the uncompressed version. It's part of Object.extend.Now I am suspecting this is happening when I do a each on an array like object. This is the code I'm suspecting is triggering this:
Code:
var self = this,
c = certManager.addedCerts,
e = window.expManager.workExp,[code]....
The first array (c) is populated with numbers only. The second one (e) is populated with objects that have a store/retrieve going on. Basicly what I am doing at this point in the script is submitting a form thru ajax. I'm transforming the objects into arrays and then encoding them with JSON.
I am having trouble accessing both the Class and the current element. How can I have access to both the current element and the Class?
// Class stuff above
fuction1 : function () {
myelements.addEvent('click', this.function2);

When I use mouse wheel in Firefox to scroll contents of the DIV, memory usage in Firefox goes through the roof. Code above is a fully working page, if anyone would like to see what's up, just load it up, and start moving your mouse wheel in the area with text. You don't actually have to scroll the text, just moving the wheel back and forth in that DIV will do. Memory usage will start going up quite fast, and after you stop moving the wheel, it will finally come down a bit after a short while. I've highlighted in red the line where mousewheel event is registered for Firefox. I'm not sure if it's really a problem, but since Opera and IE don't have any strange memory usage, and Firefox does, maybe I did something wrong. In everyday use it shouldn't matter [don't expect to have kilometers of content to scroll], but anyway, it is a bit unsettling.
On this page http://jimpix.co.uk/ecards/262-no-words.html
I get this Javascript error in IE6:
Line: 5
Character: 1
Code: 0
Error Message: Syntax error
URL: http://jimpix.co.uk/ecards/262-no-words.html
I'm using the DebugBar add in for IE (http:url....)The error message in DebugBar is this:
http://jimpix.co.uk/junk/error.png
And the view-source of the page is here: http://jimpix.co.uk/junk/source-code.png
I don't get the error in Firefox 3 or IE7.
I tried 2 smilar code.
first one :
In this code first 111 message is shown then the other is shown. everything is ok for me in this code.
Then i tried second code.
But in this code 111 message is not shown. What is the problem. my aim for this code, calling same event in one <script> tags. How can i do this?
I am using a 'suckertree horizontal menu'. I am trying to alter the javascript to provide a delay with ouseout (to hide the UL). I am having issues!
Here is the original code:
ultags[t].parentNode.onmouseout=function(){
this.getElementsByTagName("ul")[0].style.visibility="hidden"
}
Here is the code I am working with:
ultags[t].parentNode.onmouseout=function(){
setTimeout("this.getElementsByTagName("" + ul + "")[0].style.visibility="" + hidden + """, 1500);
}
I have a bunch of links that when you mouseover should bring up a window with extra information. The links look like
Code:
<a href="#" onMouseOver="popInfo(this)" onMouseOut="unpopInfo(this)">Link Text</a>
Here's the code for the tw functions, popInfo and unpopInfo:
Code:
function popInfo(x) {
var posx = 0;
var posy = 0;
if (!e) var e = window.event;
if (e.pageX || e.pageY)
{
posx = e.pageX;
posy = e.pageY;
}
else if (e.clientX || e.clientY)
{
posx = e.clientX + document.body.scrollLeft;
posy = e.clientY + document.body.scrollTop;
}
var infoBox = x.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[0];
infoBox.className = 'infoBoxHover'
infoBox.style.left = posx;
infoBox.style.top = posy;
}
function unpopInfo(x) {
var infoBox = x.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[0];
infoBox.className = 'infoBox'
}
This is working perfectly in IE and Opera but in firefox it's saying that window.event has no properties. I don't know much about javascript so I don't know where to start. Some help would be great.
I found this nice script to put anything next to my mouse. It works in Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari, burt it does not work in firefox. I think that the problem has something to do with "getElementById", but It could also be something else.

I put in a code, so that when you hover over a link, text appears at the bottom of the page. My code works fine in IE 8, but the text doesn't appear in Firefox. I ran Firebug, and it gave me a "detailsbox is not defined" error.

Is there any cross-browser method of determining whether a click event was triggered by a mouse left click or the keyboard's 'enter' key? I was expecting event.button, or event.which to be able to do this, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Checking event.clientX == 0 && event.clientY == 0 works in FF, but not in IE.

i have a simple div that has one line of text. the text is blue and underlined, so it looks like a link. i have an onclick() event for it to change element visibilities on my page. i would really like to change the mouse icon from an arrow to the hand pointer (the one you see when you hover over a hyperlink) when the mouse is over the div. i'm not sure if I need an API call for something like this or not. Hopefully there is a simpler way to do this than what i am doing. I tried experimenting with <a href> but i have no actual link to use, as i am not linking to anything.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a image (bkgImage) with mapped links, an area link calling:
onmouseover="Display('divPop');"
onmouseout="Hide1(event,'divPop');"
Display sets display for divPop to block, that's ok. Primarily divPop is display:none, and it has an image inside:
<div style="left:150px; top:60px;" id="divPop" class="tip"><img src="img/image.gif" id="divPopImage" OnMouseOut="Hide2(event,'divPop');"></div>
I have this script in the head:
function Hide1(e,element) {
//alert(e.relatedTarget.id);
if ((e.toElement.id || e.relatedTarget.id) != 'divPopImage') {
Hide(element);
} }
function Hide2(e,element) {
//alert(e.relatedTarget.id);
if ((e.toElement.id || e.relatedTarget.id) == 'bkgImage') {
Hide(element);
} }
Hide function just sets display back to none, that's ok also. The original idea was to prevent bubbling (and because the area link and divPop are overlapping, it flickered because of mouseout/mouseover conflict), and also to not hide the divPop if you left the area link and entered divPop....but I complicated it a little.
However, it now works as it should in IE, but not in Mozilla - divPop just stays open, when it should close, like in IE! If you uncommented the alerts in the functions you would see that the value of id goes thorugh - so mozilla "knows", where the mouse goes to... it just doesn't react afterwards.
