I would like to disable back and forward button + Refresh button.
Please help in doing this. I want this because i am displaying data
from mysql database and on back and forward button complete logic get
failed.
Ive tried all codes that can be found on the net bout disabling the back button on browsers... But negative with OPERA browser...

I need some script to force the browser to reload/refresh when a page is reached from the back button.
EG You're on page A -> You click a link onto page B -> You Press Browser back to go onto Page A, it has old content that requires a reload.
Now, my page is currently php so I won't bother with my code here as I am looking for any solution (I have also posted in php forum).
Any JS solution that will trigger a reload on browser back is appreciated. I have tried a few ideas, most work in Chrome, IE always works, Firefox 4 and Opera 11 wont reload, simply fetching from cache I believe.

I have a large form that uses jquery's .change to rewrite html select forms, make some calculations, etc. It works great if I don't reload the page via a refresh or a back. If I click back or refresh it doesn't change some of my form's selections, but all of the jquery generated stuff doesn't recalculate. Is there a way I can trigger a re-evaluation? I tried

I am very inexperienced with javasciprt. I am designing a form in coldfusion, and want some dynamic action to take place. My users will be offered 2 selections via radio buttons. Depending on which radio button they select, they will get a few more radio buttons to choose from. I have been told that this can be handled in javascript. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a quiz application made in PHP. The quizzes have a time limit, and i display the time left using javascript in a textfield. I always initialize the timer on document load. I also have a page navigation that switch between pages, and i maintain the time value from the last page.
Now the problem is that if the user clicks on back button of the browser and after on forward, the timer gets reinitialized with the start time, and in this way he can cheat.
Can you please tell me how can i disable all navigation on my page?
I'm trying to find a javascript/DOM navigation tree to use in a
web-based content management system, to allow navigation of > 10,000
folders/files.
The javascript (non-DOM) tree we currently use is running too slowly
as it cannot dynamically load in nodes when users select a node to
expand. This is critical for us. The top level of the tree hirarchy
only has 20 or so nodes, but each node might contain up to 1,000
nodes.
So what we need is for the tree to process and display the first tier
(20 nodes) and then only process sub-nodes if the expand icon is
clicked.
Does anyone know whether such a tree exists?
It needs to be compatible with all modern browsers (IE 5+, Netscape
6+, Opera 7+, Konqueror 2+, Safari etc). I've looked at several
different examples, but none of them (AFAIK) appear to be fully
compatible with the above list of browsers.
Is there a way to request a server script through javascript without
having the browser navigate to another page? Similar to the effects
of calling the server.execute method in ASP. Is anyone familiar with
a method to accomplish this?

I tried to use a CSS version (Suckerfish) and it worked ok but it destroyed the formatting I had. I would really like to implement this kind of dropdown on my main navigation so users don't have to click and wait for a page to load. If possible, I'd like very few lines of code. That's why the CSS option was good... there was very little javascript.

Like that, my aspx button inside the dialog (inside the div) doesn't work... it doesn't do a post back. I click and nothing happens (no JS errors). If I comment out the line $("#dialogProd").dialog({ width: '400', position: 'right' });
Then it works normaly as expected (obviously the dialog doesn't show, and I see the DIV as a regular div).
Is there anytihing wrong with the code? some way to prevent this? I had the same code in older version of jQuery and did not have a problem.
i have a jsp page in which there is a table. the number of rows is variable and depends on a pre-defined query.every row has 2 editable textboxes which are initially disabled. i need to activate these textboxes according to the radio button which corresponds to the particular row in question.

The problem with it is, it's in an iframe and works as sort of an advertising area. So on the mainpage where the iframe has been placed, whenever someone uses the back button, it just keep going back in the iframe and choosing random pages. The back button doesn't work on the mainpage and instead is used in the actual iframe.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the iframe or the script, and I don't think I have the mental capacity to figure it out so I'd really value some help! Oh, and apparently the problem doesn't occur when using Firefox. Code:
