I have a javascript menu based off of unordered lists that only shows the subnav links when you click on the main nav links. is there a way to keep any subnav items open after you click on a link and are transferred to a new page? Code:
If anyone can help me find a free resource for creating a verticle slide tree menu system that allows the use of images for the navigation I would really appreciate it. I have found many scripts that allow background images but NONE that have rollover images for the links. Code:
I need to create a simple dropdown menu. I've got the main nav working, I just need to get the subnav to appear. Currently, if you hover over an item in the nav, the image will change from black & red to red & black. What I need to do now is have a subnav appear (I have another image - 1000px wide- that I'm planning to use as a background image) below it with the appropriate subnav items on it. I'm guessing I need to have some javascript in here, but I really don't know where to begin. Here's a link to the page in progress: [URL]
Basically i need the menu to be collapsed to the first level initially. So only the User, Admin and Company User links are visible.
When these 1st level menu items are clicked the 2nd level sub menus need to be displayed when navigated to the 1st level index page and so on for the third level menus.
I need to be able to remember the location as well so the menu stays open on the correct page.
The annoying thing is that if i was allowed to do this in Coldfusion this would only take me a little while but i don't know much JavaScript therefore am a bit stuck. I am not allowed to use libraries either such as JQuery, MooTools
Another challenge is to style the 'active' link locations.
When you are at the first level the class of the anchor needs to be selected_bg.
When in a sub of said first level the class of that selected anchor needs to be selected_bg and the first level needs to change to selected.
For the third level both the above stays the same but then the third level takes the class of selectorThird when active.
I have some wordpress code which generates a menu with links to the pages created in the admin area.
[Code]...
The id of active is on the currently selected menu item. In the above code the home page. How can I get the subnav to show only if the main menu item which contains a subnav is active? The rest of the time I want the subnav hidden. I have found the effect I want on another site [URK]. If you select advanced treatments a sub menu appears. If you select say jobs then the subnav for advanced treatments disappears.
I'm currently moddifying a simple menu tree script, into a way of showing more info, when clicking a headline. It is beginning to work allmost a i want i to, but when i use my own stylesheet, the area of the menutree is shown as a table.
I desperately need to create a tree menu to function similar to http://support.novell.com (grey menu on the left). I am working on the largest web project of my career and the programming is a little over my head to a relatively new designer...so any help or suggestions would be great. I tried their code to see if I could make it do anything but nothing helps....I'd love any help and would certainly give you proper credit. If you want, you can email me at: wentworth499@msn.com
Note: Does anyone know how it's done in Dw...or some way to copy code and paste in to DW to test it to see if it works...everything I've tried will not work in DW.
Ok guys l generated some dhtml drop down menu using Sotthink DHTML menu 8.Now l am editing it in my Netbeans but cant change the height of the seperator .
Ok so I'm using FxMenu 4.1.1 on my website at the moment. I figured that I wanted to keep the menu static so it wouldnt ahve to reload everytime someone clicked on page. I made a 3-framed framset with a header, center, and a footer. The center consists of the menu and an iframe. The pages that load from clicked on the menu items load in the iframe. Here's my problem: if I load a flash movie or whatever in the iframe it overlaps the menu. Code:
The rollover menu's roll out nicely, but they don't go back in unless you put your mouse over another menu item. Is there another onmouse* combination I should be using? My javascript:
Because i'm a javascript newbie, i decided to use a application (allwebmenus) to create a tree menu. But I wasn't able to find a option in the program to change 2 frames with 1 click. This is the situationI've got 2 frames (maincontent & logo) and 2 documents (opschoning.html & herinstalleren.html).At the moment the menu is working fine. When clicking on "- opschonen" ,opschoning.html is nicely loaded in the maincontentframe. But i would like to see that at the same moment herinstalleren.html gets loaded in the logoframe.I've been trying hard, but couldn't find the solution for the problem.

This is my first post here. I'm not well versed in JavaScript, so I'm not sure how to do all the following things: (1) set up a horizontal menu with (2) + and - images as bullet points, such that clicking on the bullet points (3) changes + to - and vice versa while (4) a single-level drop down menu makes text disappear and appear.
It should look like this: --------------------------------------------- [+] Option A [+] Option B
I used the script from this website to create an expanding and collapsing sitemap bar at the bottom of my page. What I can't find is a solution to the menu expanding up over the content instead of expanding downwards.
Entire Code Sample:[URL]I can get this code to work no problem if I create a second iFrame ("iNav") just to load the DHTML menu into. EX:
Code:
var FirstLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where first level appears var SecLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where sub levels appear var DocTargetFrame='icontent'; // Frame where target documents appear
However I would like to avoid this as I really just want the single iFrame on my page and then dynamically load content into the iFrame via the DHTML menu.
This is really only for anyone who has the book and has mastered the concepts of the rollover drop down menus from Chapter 7 in Stuart Langridge's DHTML Utopia book.
Does anyone know what the key is to getting the first menu list to appear inline, rather than as a block, while leaving everything else working as it does already?
Anyone trying out the javascript drop down menus from the Sitepoint Javascript Anthology book might have noticed that in IE7 the sub menus are misaligned, they are offset to far to the right.
Has anyone else come across this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? It has unfortunately broken several of my menus, though if you just try the demo menus from the book in IE7 they also suffer the same problem.
i need a DHTML drop down menu sample with framesets used or the cross-frame..i dont have any dropdown menu creator because they are just a trial verion..
I have created a jquery accordion menu for a brilliant CMS called 'Concrete5' and all works lovely BUT I now would like the menu to stay open if a menu item is selected within the drop list.I have manged to create the following.....
var pathname = window.location.pathname; var selecteda = $(".nav-selected a").attr("href"); // alert (selecteda)
[code]....
..but it doesn't seem to work.I'm not a JQuery GOD like most of you on here but I am trying my hardest The accordion menu I am trying to get this to happen on is Accordion Menu.
The purpose of the code is to slideToggle open one of two hidden sub-nav bars when either of two different menu items are clicked upon - instead of a drop down menu. What doesn't work is the hiding of the div that is not required, if it is already open. Viewing in firebug shows that the appropriate classes are being applied - I suspect the reason is that slideToggle has been somehow set and cannot be unset via another object - but perhaps that is not it at all?
$(document).ready(function() { //add .toggle function to appropriate li element $('#hozmenu li:nth-child(4)').toggle(function () { //set 4th menu links colour to be green whilst div is shown $('#hozmenu li:nth-child(4) a').css('color', '#95d890'); $('#toggle_nav_services').removeClass('toggle_show'); [Code]....
I am trying to use the Jquery selecmenu to skin dropdowns. There are extra UL LI getting formed with data "undefined" so dropdown is showing undefined in end.
I have a navigational element that is distinct from the rest of my navigation and is a graphical icon. Therefore, I'm not using the standard <li> elements to display it. I'm simply using an <img> tag. The <li> tag for that nav element is not being displayed. I do however want the subnav to display when you mouse over the image. You can view it here: [URL] Question: How would I activate the display of the subnav (and hide the current subnav) using an object outside of the navigational list? I know I need to somehow trigger superfish with a mouseover event
I wanted to create a small DHTML code that created a unordered list of input forms dependent on the number selected from the select dropdown menu. Problem is that it doesn't seem to want to generate the list. I think the variables are within the scope of the function too, and I didn't get an errors from the javascript console when using firebug. The script itself runs, I tested it when I used the old standby alert(); to see if the script was active. Here's the code:
