I am working on outlet pages of an online store.There are 4 products displayed on each row.On that store, products are displayed with images,product name, model no., price and buttons.For some products, the name is longer, for some price is longer.I am using <td> for displaying each information.The problem is - the height of the name's <td> and price's <td> are different for different products.I want a JS code which can detect the biggest height (for each row separately) from both the above td's separately and assign the maximum height to the corresponding 3 td's of that row.This should be done for each row separately.note : I an right now using this code - But it takes the height of both td's for 1st product only and assign it to all the products.
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
var ht1 = document.getElementById("name_td1").offsetHeight;
document.getElementById("name_td1").style.height = ht1;
I have a div that is absolutely positioned and stretch on all sides using top: 10px; left: 10px; bottom: 10px; right: 10px; When I try to get the height of the div, using $('#id').height(); I get 0 (zero). Is there a problem calculating the height of elements like this one, or am I missing something?
How can I retrieve the required height of a page to fit in my current browser window's width such that I don't need the vertical scrollbar to see the full contents of the page? In other words, I need the document's height.
Furthermore, I need to figure out how to do this in IE6 w/o switching to strict mode (so, the default IE6 mode = quirks).
I'm working on a script to pass the content height to some other element. The whole script is within the document ready function, but somehow Google Chrome thinks the content height is 0 (zero), because it's so fast. When I set a timeout it works correctly, but I don't really like this solution because of the delay.
var contentHeight = ($('body').height(); setTimeout(function() { var contentHeight = ($('body').height();
I found this useful script for setting equal column height for divs. But is doesn't account for the padding inside the divs. How to make it calculate the total height including the padding from the heighest column?
Could somebody please take a look at the lines of coding below and advise on how to complete it? It's a code to translate a piece of text, I kinda figured some of it out, The first part is to translate 'the cat sat on the mat' to 'thube cubat subat ubon thube mubat'. The second part is entering text and clicking a button to translate.
First part - translating cat on the mat: function isVowel(aCharacter) { return ((aCharacter == 'a') || (aCharacter == 'A')|| (aCharacter == 'e') || (aCharacter == 'E')|| (aCharacter == 'i') || (aCharacter == 'I')||
The content is coming from an Ajax request. The content gets used more than once on the page for other purposes which is why I don't simply change the iframe src--I have to do an ajax request regardless so I'm trying to avoid multiple calls.
After I load the content, I need modify the height of the iframe so it fits snuggly around the content.
Calculating the height isn't a problem with the exception that it's not always correct and I think it's because the calculation is happening before images have downloaded.
I don't seem to be able to rely on a `load` or `ready` event to delay the calculation. The load event is the only one that tiggers on a change of iframe content, but it doesn't see the new content.
I have a huge HTML page to be tranlasted with links every times in the right side of the page, and the content and but seems like a problem with javascript
it contains Javascript +PHP code, runs perfectly with Mozilla but say object requires in Internet explorer. the code is following
What I am trying to accomplish is I have a radio button "RequiredApprovalYesNo". When the selection is "Yes", I need fields "Approver" and "ApproverEmail" to be required upon submit. I also need to make sure that a selection is made with this radio button of either Yes or No.Here is my HTML code for these three fields and was wondering if someone could show me how to code this script or, give me an example of a Radio button selection resulting in additional fields being required or not.
As usual, this site works with every single browser known to man ...........except for any version of IE. I have tried using IE's devel tools to no avail ....though I'm a complete newb, so that isn't saying much. Code?Here's the section IE complains about:
function display(str) { var nodeList = xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("item");[code]....
**** UPDATE *****Well ...it looks like I can't have null values in any elements ( in the xml document ). How do you experts satisfy this requirement in an elegant fashion.Since there is no data for certain elements, I'm looking for a reasonable failover solution. Empty quotes?..... still experimenting. A script produces the xml file from a database so some elements do not have data for certain child elements.
I have created a basic Javascript function to check that all fields in the contact form that are required have information from the user. It works fine with input fields but not with textarea. Even when I dont insert message into textarea, the script allows to submit the form. I have given the name for textarea "userinput". Could anyone look at the code, and tell me what could possible be wrong with it?
function required() { user_message=document.contact_form.userinput.value;[code]......
I have a iframe element which currently has a small amount of javascript that handles the scrolltop and I am trying to add a variable to that which controls the height of the iframe based on the source height. I do not want to set the height of the iframe in CSS because if I use this same method for other iframes and the source height is not the same it will not work.The page with the iframe is here (click on the link on the top of the page to load the iframe):
[URL]
The page I want to load into the iframe is here:
[URL]
The javascript and html for the parent page is:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
[code]...
Again, what I need is for the iframe to get the document height from the page that will load into the iframe and then have the iframe height be that exact size. As you can see once you click on the link it is much shorter than the page I am using to load into the iframe.I do not know javascript enough to figure it out and have spent a couple days looking all over the internet and have yet to find something I can incorporate into the javascript I already have.
I have a DIV menu bar that I want to stretch 100% in height. It worked perfectly fine until I added the XHTML doctype. So I tried absolute positioning which worked but then my other divs started overlapping them.So I want to know if there is any javascript code to make my menu bar stretch vertically. The name of the div I want to stretch is the class "sidemenu".
I had to maintain older javascript code with some jQuery addons / plugins (I guess also old ones).
Today I found this:
I looked into the api documentation I found some days ago also ".height()"
As I understood that code like this: "jQuery.fn.height" will overwrite the current "height" methode in jQuery.
Is this right? And why the code in line 1 (see above).
I want to remove old javascript code, and also the code above. I found similar code snippets where all the jQuery function on this page [url] will be overridden. And also for "scrollLeft", "scrollTop", "offset".
The incode documentation in the old js-code says also something about "Plugins/Dimensions".
Can I remove the code, because it is old code for a jQuery version where the "height" is not implemented?
And then I have this code to determine the cell height.
So basically I need both my first and last cells to be able to have the mainbody cells height, but that code only works when placed in or after the cell being measured, in this case "mainbody", my question is this, is their a way to get the size of the mainbody cell before its done loading somehow?
I am working on a UI that, when you click on a menu option, a div opens and show three divs inside. These divs all have different heights. The heights are based on the divs content.The problem I'm having is... how do I measure what the divs height should be? IE, how do I grab the height for a div BEFORE it has had any style applied to it.
Trying to get the height of an element whose height is specified in the CSS.
So I am trying to animate the height of an item, where I have: <img id="myButton" src="myimage.jpg" /> <div id="myDiv" style="height:50px;overflow:hidden"> asdklf
[Code]....
However, it only registers as 50, even if the element is 500
I am in need of a JS script that matches the "li" height with the un-defined height of a absolute positioned block? Sort of like a matching columns script - is this possible? It's for IE6! Oh ya, and it's dynamic un-defined height. I only want it to match the height on hover. Here is a little test page I put together.[code]
how to adjust the iframe height by itself if my html height increases. My html code includes a facebook comment at the bottom of my page and the comment will show making it expand the height once users post comments. On the other hand, I'm using a CMS that have its own iframe. I've tried many solutions that can be found on the web but none works. It only can work if I don't put in CMS. Is it possible to adjust the iframe height using CMS or there is no way?
this is the script to adjust the height.summaryTable.style.display="block"; if(graphDiv!=null && summaryTable!=null){ graphDiv.style.height = document.body.clientHeight - summaryTable.clientHeight - 70;}

[Code]...

I am trying to write a script that will take a date of birth and another date and, if the person was over 75 years old on the createdDate, return "true" (otherwise return "false").
Unfortunately my code doesn't seem to return either 'true' or 'false'!
The code is:
var dateofBirth="30/10/1982"; var createdDate="01/12/2010"; var sd = dateofBirth.split('/'); var dob = new Date(sd[2],sd[1],sd[0]);
I want to create a link that a user can click which will create a popup telling the user their ip address. I have:
var ip = new java.net.InetAddress.getLocalHost().toString(); alert("Your IP address is: " + ip.substring(ip.indexOf("/")+1))
but this does not seem to work. It says the ip is 127.0.0.1. Strangely, this piece of code used to work but all of a sudden it doesn't for some unknown reason. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with the above code?
I have two date fields (check in, check out) and "number of days" field.
I want the script to calculate automatically the difference. For example: I have defaults dates, and I want the script to put the difference in "number of days" field. And if the user will change the date, the number of days will change automatically.
