I have a modal box, which pop ups during error. This modal box is based on prototype. I use Esc key to remove the pop ups. Unfortunately, I have been sending multiple AJAX request at the same time when pop ups appear. If the user may click the Esc key for multiple times, the browser also cancels it AJAX responses. I am trying this Esc key event to remove only the pop ups but not canceling the AJAX responses.
and I would like that box to open with an image (loading image) when the ajax is doing its thing.. and close the box after it finishes.. as you can see I have tried to do it but it doesnt seem to work.. (i tried it without $FUNCTION(){ } thing in the else statement so I tried adding function call..)
I am a visual designer that can usually install pre written code without to much difficulty. And, indeed I have installed FancyBox
I am working with a dynamically generated page written in ColdFusion. Three divs on the page contain FancyBox links that open editing screens. Once editing is complete and the user closes the FancyBox modal the changes need to be reflected on the parent page.
Right, so I was able to find a solution that refreshes the entire page
to refresh the entire parent page. But, that causes a browser prompt that is confusing to users and a bit of over kill as I really only need the information edited to refresh.
How, oh how can I get just a single div to refresh "onClosed" as apposed to the entire page?
Here I am opening a div tag inside a modal dialog. There is a form submit button. When I click the submit button the modal dialog closes and the page refreshes automatically.
I want to trap the window.close() event when the user clicks on the close button of the browser using javascript. Can anyone shed light on this problem ?
I am new to Jquery and am having trouble. I want a button on a modal form to open up another modal form but for some reason it isn't happening. The code below is basically the code from the jquery user interface demo, slightly modified. can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? if your kind enough to take a look at my problem make sure you change the src's where the JQuery files are!
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
As per the rather long subject, I would like to (well, my boss would like me to...) on a popup have one button to close and another to close but then redirect to another page.
Suppose,closing the browser through Browser Close Button(Top Right Corner cross(x) button), i have to execute some ASP script , for that, in body onUnLoad Event calling a fucntion called CloseWin(e,frm), it is working in Internet Explorer successfully , But in FireFox not working. how to solve this problem. or any other way to get the co-ordinates of browser close button( code for both IE and Firefox).
code follows
function CloseWin(e,frm) { //frm required for my program var bButtonClicked = false;
I'd like to know if there's a way to invoke a modal window, that is a window that make impossible for the parent to get the focus, and returns back to the opener a value.
My goal is to make an anchor that opens another (little) win with a representation of the remote content in a personal directory on the server. Once you click on a file, it makes the parent window display its name into a form.
If I did not want to generate this filesytem representation, maybe a simple "prompt" could satisfy my request... but I need something more, so I'd like to extend this concept customizing the return-value-text-field!!
I'm a newbie in mozilla web development. I've been developping apps for IE and Netscape for years though. After searching the internet (groups google etc..), I found a way to pop a modal window using a XUL page.
Here is my question: despite seing examples of how to return a value to the caller window, I have been unable to make this work. Is there anyone who would have a TESTED very simple example on poping a modal window that would receive one argument and would return a result?
I want to use this to pop a calendar page and return the date chosen. I have the code for the calendar, but I need the mechanism to get the date back. This window has to be modal by requirement.
i have a one main window from that window i am opening one modal window using showmodaldialog(m.jp...).
in that modal window i have a form. when i click save button in the form, the for has to submit and the modal window has to close. and the parent window have to refresh itself. Code:
How to get code of modal box in jquery having gridview of data.one of the data is to be selected and that goes in the textbox of main webpage which isimplemented in asp.net
I have a modal that I am trying to set up and I want it only to display if there is not a cookie set. How can I check to see if a cookie is set before hand and then how would i add in the ability for the cookie to be set if the .close element is clicked.here is my modal script.I took a bunch of them and pieced them together and then added in my own code.
Code:
$(document).ready(function() { $('#page').hide(); var id = $('#dialog');[code]......
Here is what I am doing:Someone clicks 'add buyer' link on my pageIn a modal box, I load the form to add a buyer. The form is loaded via ajax and then fills the div containerwhen someone clicks the 'submit' button, it should then look at the value of the fields and post to a scriptCurrently I can't get jQuery to see node within the loaded AJAX.
ive been strugglng all day to centre a DIV with javascript in the centre of my page. Ive created a modal popup and id like it to stay in the screen even if the page has been scrolled down. And no matter what i try i cant get it to actually hit the centre of the screen. I should add that im totally new to javascript but decided i cant avoid learning javascript forever so here are my pathetic efforts..
function ShowPopup(hoveritem, thepopup, theimage) { popVar = document.getElementById(thepopup);
[code]....
Ive tried loads of other things too, whats commented out has been my last effort. Im doing other things too in the function in case you wondered.
- I have a button on my Flash site that opens an HTML page in a popup window. In Flash, I open the new window using Actiosnscript 2.0:
- Within the popup window are links to other HTML pages. They all open in the same window. I've been using the following to create the links in Dreamweaver:
- On each page, I have a "Return to Main Menu" button that should close the popup window. To do this, I have been using:
- The problem is that it works differently in each browser, and I can't even get it to consistently close the window in most browsers:
Internet Explorer = popup message appears, asking "Are you sure you want to close this window?" or something similar; window closes after clicking "Yes."
Safari = Only closes if I'm on the original HTML page. If I click on any of the other links (note that these all open in the same window), those pages' "Return to Main Menu" buttons cease to work. However, if I keep clicking "Back" until I get to the original page, it closes.
Opera = Button actually works for each page.
Firefox & Chrome = Does not close the window at all.
I looked into it and saw that others have used a window.opener to solve similar issues. But, since my popup window is opened using Flash/AS2, I need to find a way around it.
I've tried preceding "window.close()" with "window.opener=null" (i.e. -onClick="window.opener=null; window.close()"), but I don't think I'm doing it right because it still doesn't work.
I've also seen others use codes that involve functions and variables, but it is beyond my current coding knowledge to implement this. Like I said, I'm sort of new at this.
I have a javascript, calendar.js which i use to enable my client to select the date. This calendar pops up on the click of a gif image. But the problem is that this poped up window is not modal in nature(i do not want the user to go the parent page unless he selects some date in the calendar popup).
In the javascript calendar.js he has used window.open() function to pop up the window. i just want to know whether we have any attribute which when set to yes will make the window behave modal in nature.(just like resizable="yes",toolbar="yes", do we have modal="yes" ?)
i checked modal="yes" and it does not make the window behave modal in nature. Am i using the wrong attribute name?(modal="yes").
Do we have such attribute. If not what are my other options.
I know that we can use window.showModalDialog(), but i need to modify the window.open() function to make the window behave modally. Is it possible to do so?
There are so many plugins for modal dialogs that I don't know which one should I use and/or which one is the best... I mean, if there was only one plugin of this type including all the features from all the modal plugins, that would be cool. Which one do you think it's the best and why? Care to state the pros and cons of each plugin (or the ones you know/have already tested)?
