I would like to clear a search input field on focusout(), without extra button for reset or something similar. I filter list when users type something in search field but when they click outside the form, search filed should be cleared.
I'm learning jquery from book Novice to Ninja and the Animated Navigation (site 64) is not working with jquery-1.5.1.min.js (it's workin fine with the old one - jquery-1.4.min.js but since there is new jquery avaliable i really don't want to use the old one). Here is the code...
Code JavaScript: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
I have a search form and added the "Clear All" Button functionality...but it clears the last part of the search form display preferences....how do I only clear the checkboxes at the top of the form only and not at the bottom of the form between the <DIV> tags? I have attached a copy of the JSP page.
I'm currently making a web application which needs to be fully compatible with iPad. The functions I've implemented so far work perfectly on Firefox, Internet Explorer and other browsers. However, the iPad itself responds a bit different. After a certain action, I want to put focus on a textfield with the help of Javascript. Again, this works perfectly with the normal browser, the iPad browser however seems to be blocking the focus. The reason I'm not posting any code is because it's basically irrelevant. All I do is:
Is there a reason why setting focus to a textbox input, also gives focus to a submit button on the page, to where if you click enter in the text box, the submit button will be clicked.
The default behaviour of focus() method is displaying the cursor at start of the char(In FF focusOffset is 0(zero) and anchorOffset is 0(zero)). I need to display the focus at end of char after calling focus() method.
I think the problem is cause by my lack of understanding of how the browser (firefox 3.6.3) handles focus.A simplified version of my problem is:I've defined the function
function two_focus() { document.getElementById("two").blur();
I am new to jquery, and love it so far, but I am more of a designer, not a developer. I am learning jquery to enhance my sites, and I am having a problem figuring out buttons.
I have them working in firefox and safari, but in IE links do not work.
Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
Is there a way to set the focus on a form field without using focus()? I use ajax to build the form and if I try to set the focus using focus() an error is generate because of the form hasn't been built by ajax. So, it would be nice if I could set the focus() as I built the form.
Is there any way to tell the difference between when this anchor is focused by a user (perhaps by tabbing to it) as opposed to when I programatically do it via anchor_node.focus()?
After a user successfully logs in, I'm hidng the login div, and displaying the 'loggedin' div. However, if someone clicks on logout, the username and password fields still have the login credentials in them. So, I need to clear those text boxes, along with the 'remember me' checkbox.
Here is my code:
I've tried single quotes, double quotes and other variations. Nothing is working.
However, that 'alert' does show the value in the username box.
Here is the code for the login, and loggedin divs and forms:
Just a noobish question here, is it ok to assign the same id, name, and class to each form object as long as they are unique per form object?
I.E. - id="signout" name="signout" class="signout"
I have a dropdown that selects which SET of form fields to complete. However, if i select SET 1 and fill them out, i can change to SET 2 and fill those out and well - and it COMBINES them. totalling 8 fields instead of 4 and 4.How do i clear the contents of the div's everytime the dropdown is changed, so the contents are reset? This has to be applied to many div's, so if someone can point me in the direction, and just make a basic template of how i would go about changing a single div from an onchange event, i cna just apply it to the rest of the DIV's i have.
I am using javascript to load and parse a big xml file (around 1 mb) save some values to an array and draw a picture using google Flot. Unfortunately, this causes the browser to crash! Is there a way to clear the memory of the browser?
I am fairly new to javascript and am having trouble clearing a text field. I am making a "vending machine simulator" as an exercise. I have a button that is the coin return, and should clear the balance display. e.g the machine shows a balance of $2 inserted, the coin return button should clear it to 0.
I believe I have done everything correctly but get NaN as the output (a text field named "box1"). I believe it has something to do with how the field is validated. It has number precision set to 2, which I would think would just become 0.00 or something. Anyways, here is my code code...
