I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to use jQuery to do the following. I have a form with several checkboxes. If one particular checkbox is checked, I'd like a required dropdown field to appear. Is this something fairly straightforward to do with jQuery?
<script>

function s(){}
function test(){

I'm trying to make it so when the user checks a checkbox, the value for the checkbox will be entered into the text field.
Here is my code:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

I don't know what to put for the form action so I'm not sure if it's working correctly or not.
I'm wondering if a script exists that will convert a text field value to a checked checkedbox in an html form? I don't have access to the database, and want to use a simple script on the form to take care of this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay first off let me say I am very new at Javascript and I am still learning. I have been using adobe Pro to create a form for my company and I am trying to add some javascript to help perform a function.I have a checkbox and i am running javascript right now that does the followingthis.getField('test 4545').value=("series 1");when the box is check it produces the text "series 1" in the text field i created called "test 4545". I also have a text input field called "test 3434" that you can input any text you would like My question is what script can I put in that will do the following.When the check box is checked it produces test field "test 4545" to be the text that was already entered in text field "test 3434"
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a credit card field that is only mandatory if they select a credit card as a payment type.
If they select Gift Certificate, then I set the card to not be mandatory:
$('#creditcard').removeClass('required').removeClass('creditcard');
validationRules.rules.CardNumber.required = false;
however the validation still fails on the creditcard field. If I enter this in to Firefox's console:
$("#OForm").validate().element("#creditcard");
it returns false.
To make matters more confusing, this validation only fails on my form when I am passing a particular parameter in the URL string. I've scoured my code and cannot figure out why that parameter would have any impact whatsoever on this matter.
I'm trying to do autotab from a textfield to a checkbox . but it is not working . Here is my code

Basically it's a layout creator, mostly, with a few customization options. Basically as you can see from the HTML below, there is a checkbox with the id "network" and a text input field with the id "username". Code:
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wrote a small piece of javascript a while ago to add some text to a text box and mark it as read only if a check box was checked. If the checkbox was unchecked, the text would be removed and the field writable.
It was working great until I accadently deleted the file and had to start over from an old backup that didn't have the new functionality.. Now I have it so if you check the box, it puts the correct text, and marks the field read only, hoverer now I can't uncheck the checkbox.
Here is what I have this far:
HTML:
I need to do a clientside check of a form to see if a "required" multiselect list and a checkbox have been left blank or not. To clarify, the user is required to select either one or more options from the multiselect list, the checkbox, or a combination of both.
What they can't do is leave both of them blank. Both the multiselect and the checkbox pass values to a PHPList script on the server as if they were one multiselect with the name "attribute17[]".
***Disclaimer - I am a total javascript noob and am piecing together examples from several days (and long nights) of googling.***
I'm dealing with a very long subscribe form, and so far I've been successful with figuring out the code to validate emails, select dropdowns, and checkboxes. This combination multiselect and checkbox is the last piece of the form that is giving me trouble. Hopefully somebody here has a solution.
For simplicity I've reduced the javascript and the form down to just the part I'm still having trouble with. Here is a piece of the javascript that I'm trying to use:
Code:
<script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript">
function checkform() {
if(document.subscribeform.elements["attribute17[]"].value == "")
{
alert("Please select your Primary Work Locations");

I try to create the following:
2 buttons next to each other, on a webpage
button 1 makes (onClick) text 1 appear just beneath the button
button 2 makes (onClick) text 2 appear just beneath the button
in each of the texts at the end there's a third button to make the text
dissappear again
IS THIS POSSIBLE? HOW?
i have a group of textbox and i have to validate them on button click.First validation is required field validation i.e., it iscompulsoryto provide input and, Second validation is range validation .e.g., textbox can only contain numeric values between 0-9. I'm currently setting up a site which will have a contact form and I'm using the validation plugin.
Currently the 'This field is required' message shows up after the form's input fields. What I want to do is have the message show up after the name label of the field.
I have been practicing using canvas to make designs. My current code below will load the word the user inputs and makes it bounce around the canvas as well as a text spinner. However, whenever the user inputs a second word, the bounce below stops to start a new one and the text spinner messes up. so when the user inputs another word, that it either reloads a new textspinner or adds another one, as well as just add the word to the canvas without stopped the old one.

I am attempting to use the errorContainer, errorLabelContainer model to display all validation errors. I have a field that is not required, but if there is data in it, it must be a number between 100 and 65535. If I enter an invalid number and change focus, the errorContainer appears along with the error message. If I empty the field, the error message goes away, however the errorContainer is still visible with the it's global error message. Is there a way to get the container to hide also?

I have a text field (field1) already displayed on the HTML page. However, there's a link where you can add additional text fields to the page as well. When the link is clicked, the second text field is added successfully (field2), and when the link is clicked again, the third text field (field3) is added successfully. However, the third field does not add itself to the page, and the text for anything greater than a third field also isn't displayed after. This obviously means that my "fields" variable is not working right
<script language="javascript">
fields = 1;
function addMore() {
if (fields = 1) {
document.getElementById('addedMore').innerHTML = "<input type='text' name='field2' size='25' /> <span>Field 2.</span>";

The Farbtastic color picker is an elegant solution to the color-picking problem, but its usefulness is prohibitive in those situations where there is not enough screen real-estate. Because it is large, these are many. Since I want to use it in such a situation, I started working towards a solution.
The designed solution involved in clicking on something small, such as Click to Activate, and having the rest of the page become faded-out, while the color-picker appears superimposed over other parts of the page.
That solution is implemented up to a point. In the code posted:
- The trigger appears as part of the original DOM.,
- Clicking the trigger makes the page text fade, the color-picker appear, and the trigger changes to something like Click to Deactivate,
- Upon clicking, it does disappear, and the page text resumes it original appearance..
After this point, one might work towards making it more modular and more easily usable as is farbtastic itself.
It requires a var to hold state, and other things. Ideally, it could be combined with the original to offer a wider range of usage patterns. I have no doubt that the code can vastly be improved, since I am relatively new to jquery, although not to computing.
The code is posted below, in the hope that it proves useful to others, The only change made to the farbtastic.js code itself is to add "id='fbc' " to the outermost <div which is added internally. This change is not shown because it would involve posting all of farbtastic.js for this one change. The section of text used to illustrate presumed page content is from the NSIS Users Manual, and has no significance beyond being some text. The div named 'overlay' was employed to allow shifting the whole thing around as a unit relative to the trigger but might be eliminated were that not needed, since everything else works without it, Note also that the input#color from the original farbtastic has been replaced by 'repeater' which is a <div, but seems to work ok to get the color info.
I am brand new to JavaScript and cannot easliy locate JavaScript code to require value in a text box if a specific radio button is selected and validate when user submits the form. Below, if a user chooses the "other" radio button, they must fill in the "othertext" box.
<input name="choice" type="radio" value="one" />

I am trying to create a javascript form validation that will make a text field be required only if a previous text field is populated. If the first text field is blank, then the second field can be blank as well.
