I have two swf files that I use as headers on our website; one for day, one for night. I am looking for a script that will change these files depending on the time of day the user hits the site based on their computer clock.
So, something like this:
Basically I created a script which changes image banner on site depending on which day it is, and what period of time it is.
Script goes like this:

Now, WHAT I NEED NOW is instead o using images (1.jpg, 2.jpg...) I want to use Flash (1.swf, 2.swf...).So is it possible to modify this script and make it work with Flash?
I am in need of changing the class of a number of divs for a specific loop in one of my clients' pages. My javascript skills and knowledge, however, are direly lacking, and I see myself in the unfortunate position of trying to take on more than I can handle.

I have a flash navigation in the header, and I want to make calls to javaScript (protoype and scriptaculous effects) through this is navigation.

When "BRAC" is pressed, the flash div should shrink, and the text below the flash should change.
Basically, I don't know if it is possible to use Flash and prototype.js

Interfaces. It is more like a web based xml content editor. I have seen
a few javascript based text editors but not much flash based ones. I
dont have much experience on neither of the technologies so I have to
spent some time to develop my skills on them (your suggestions are
wellcome:) my questions are:
1. Is JavaScript and the today's internet users's enveronment
(browser-speed-security) mature enough to run a heavy javascript based
web application ?
2. I have the "sceptic feeling" that with Javascript, programmers have
very little control on runtime environment or javascript behaviours,
errors are not so predictable on client site. (Still I see lots of
websites with javascript and a yellow Error sign on my browsers left
bottom corner). Is it still quite complicated task to make the
javascript run properly on most of the users site (say 90%) without
complicated browser/version/DOM tricks and customisation?
3. Is Flash a better option for a interactive UI application? If so why
is it still just an "animation" technology?
4. Is it possible (and easy) to mix the Flash with other technologies

I do pretty much all the computer related tasks, which includes computer system repair, audio/video editing, cd/dvd printing and duplication, document format and creation, etc etc. But when it comes to HTML (or other codes) I know very little. But we needed a website, so I use Homestead hosting and the Homestead (offline) Site Builder program.
Anyway, inside the sight builder program, they have the option to insert HTML Snippets. Which I use for various objects, off site tools, and other. But now I need to do something for which I have not been able to find a "premade" html code object, that can perform the task desired. I have searched and searched google and went through many sites, including this one. I have tried to take some codes which I thought I could alter to make it perform, but they just wouldn't work for what I needed them to do.
I need a code that will automate a "specific text message" to change daily, and to schedule a "different specific text message" to appear each day. I need to be able to schedule each days "texts" at the very least 31 days in advance. In other words, I need to make an array (I think that's what it is called) for the entire month:
Day 1 "today's text 1"
Day 2 "today's text 2"
Day 3 "today's text 3"

If were possible to make an "array" that would go six months out (or more) that would be very helpful! But the longest that I have seen is one month at a time, so that may be as long as they go, but I'm not sure.On top of all of this, I need these changes to be performed at a specific time of the day. I would like them to be preformed at sunset everyday, but I don't think there is anyway to direct the code to look at like [URL] sunset times or such. So if I can at least choose a specific hour, like 8:00 pm, that will work, I will just have to adjust this every once in a while.
However, I don't want it to change just at 8:00pm in my timezone. I need it to change at 8:00pm according to the website viewers timezone. Is there a way to make the code "look" at the users computer and "get their time" and use that to adjust what text is displayed? In other words, I live in Indiana USA. If someone in Australia looked up the webpage on the 15th day of the month, but it was 9:00pm Their Time. The text I need to be displayed should be for "Day 16" from the array.

Basically, I want to be able to change the bolded part from a drop down menu. Like, the user would select a certain item in the drop down menu and it would change the bolded part to a different link (the one corresponding to the drop down menu selection).

On the right hand side you'll see a module called Tinker. Basically its a set javascript button that will change either the background color or the font color of the site. I'm trying to add a button that changes the header font color

What I've made so far is a page header image with 4 buttons to the side of that, which when clicked will change to a diff image (sprite image, triggered by some javascript I found on the net to change the class of the buttons so that the image changes - and it looks toggled). This works fine and if a 'toggled' button is clicked again then it will delete the class the javascript adds and 'untoggle' it. The final aim of this is when this page is first loaded then none of these buttons are toggled and a default image in the header is shown.
But when one is selected then I want the header image to change to one that is associated with the button that is pressed - I was able to achieve this with an onmouseclick action on the button to change the header image, but if the user then clicked the button again (untoggled it), how would I then be able to change the header image back to the default one? Could this be achieved by some javascript that changed the class of the header image to the one associated with the button pressed, and then if its pressed again then it clears the header image class?

I have developed a very nice javascript-based navigation structure. My
customer wants to have a flash film on his very first site which
already has to have this navigation.
And now the effect: Whenever the flash film is running, the navigation
submenus are not displayed ABOVE this flash film, but BEHIND it.
As far as I have tried, there is no way to influence this behaviour
with the "z-index" and different values.
Is there any other way to make the navigation submenu seen or - in
other words - is there a way to put the flash film "a layer back"?
I'm attempting to have Javascript / jQuery play a flash player automatically based on the inbound/back link. The objective is to only play it automatically for people coming from a certain link. Is this possible with Javascript / jQuery?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use javascript on my business website to show the visitor what time it is in Hawaii.The question I have is whether the time that is displayed on the visitor's screen would be affected by Daylight Savings Time (unlike most of the country, Hawaii doesn't have DST)? I am assuming the time shown on the visitor's screen is adjusted based on GMT and not the time it is in their local time zone. Unforunately I do not understand javascript well enough to know for sure this is true.If it isn't true (and the time shown is based on the visitor's local time zone) then I need to change something before DST begins in March.

01.00 -> 01.59 = text1
02.00 -> 02.59 = text2
etc etc.. It must be all 24 hours of the day. I've been googling since 3 hours back now, and I don't think I can find anything relative to this, as it looks right now.
I am looking for a script that changes an image based on time. The ideal script would work something like this.
Image A displays from 12:00 - 2:59
Image B displays from 3:00 - 5:59
etc etc...
Does anyone know where I can find a script like this or vary similar to display certain things at certain times?
I'm working on a site for our radio station and want it to load a banner where you can see who the DJ is that is on. I saw code on here yesterday (actually it was from March, but I just found it yesterday and can't today) to do it, it showed two images at different times but I couldn't get it to work and don't know enough about java to add more time slots.

I need a progress bar that counts down and shows the time inside the bar as it is counting down. it doesn't have to be fancy it just has to work. what i'm doing now is a periodic update using ajax and then changing the size of a bar in css. it works but it is not ideal. does anyone know where i can find a tutorial for creating a countdown bar? it can be jQuery or just javascript i'm getting half decent at both.

I need a code that when a button or image is clicked then a div's width and height are changed. I've managed to get a few codes that does this, but the real problem is that, the contents of the div is an embedded flash file and i thought that by setting the flash width and height to 100% then the flash would fit to the new size of the div, but it just didn't work. I have a javascript controlling the display of a DIV that I did a while back that needs a bit more tweaking to add function to hide the DIV on specific holidays. As it is now, by default, the DIV is being hidden unless it is M-F between 8:00AM-6:00PM:

Im assuming that I would just add more else if statements, but not really sure the cleanest way to assign specific dates using this format.
make a site with image wich would change based on seconds and minutes of an hour.
Image (size about 500x280) should change every second (or at least every 5 sec).
Example: If I enter the site at 15:00.07, first image i would see would be Image 0007 which changes after a second to 0008 and so on.
If entering the site 17:59.59 Image would number 3600 and next would be 0001.
