Auto Scrolling - To The Right Automatically 1 Item At A Time
Jan 19, 2011
I'm not sure exactly what this type of thing is referred to but I'm trying to implement something which is similar to the scrolling logos on this page:- [URL] I need it to function just like that i.e. :-
- scroll to the right automatically 1 item at a time
- when it reaches the end scroll all the way to the left
- When the user hovers over the slider itself or the arrow buttons all effects stop temporarily until they hover elsewhere
- In my code I only want clicking either of the arrows to move the slider left or right by 1 item rather than 4
- when it is at the far left the left arrow disppears temporarily
- when it is at the far right the right arrow disppears temporarily
Does anyone know of the coding he used to get his pages to load like they do (auto scrolling right) I would like to do this with a site I'm building but vertical.
I know that iframes can be set to have scroll bars automatically apear when needed or put them there permanantly. However, I would like to have a Javascript slider on the topmost page scroll the iframe. It was possible to make a link on the topmost page change the content of the iframe by putting the iframe name in the link's target. Is this possible with a slider? I ask this because some of the content inside the iframe is on external pages so obviously we can't add the scroll bar there.
I have a unsorted list that is set to to 260px tall. (just big enough to show 4 lots of information) and then 4 more lots of information. I have it so that it can scroll but I was wondering. Is there away I can make it auto scroll when the selection hits the 4 item? the manual scroll is fine but would like it so if the auto selection scrolls to the 5th item it then auto scrolls the items to show the new ones?
I use xmlhttpreq object to add data to the current html file. It will add to a specifiy place, like after a tag or before a tag And if it adds too many data after that tag, the whole page will become big and need to scroll down to see the latest added data how to let it scroll down automatically without any annoying scrolling down?
One way I can use is to use a anchor which is at the bottom of that page and after i put my data into the textbox and click the link( which is linked to proper file to process the data but also point to the anchor) the page will show from the bottom. but the whole page will first jump up a little space then jump down.
On this page (just a demo) I can’t get IE6 to auto-select the first item in the dynamically-generated drop-down menus. Well, that isn’t entirely true. Sometimes it works properly, but never on the first try. When it fails, the error message it gives is:
"Cannot set the selected property. Unspecified error."
FF2, IE7, and OP9 all behave as expected. I have tried a variety of workarounds to no avail. I don't have an exhaustive list of everything I have tried, but it seems like I have tried a hundred ways of setting the "selected" attribute.
The page uses jQuery 1.1.2. Currently the page is using...
Is there a way to stop a carousel (created with jcarosellite 1.0.1) when it has ben set up with auto-scrolling? I need to be able to stop it and restart it when a button is pressed. If I can't can you please suggest me a plugin that have infinite scrolling, auto-scrolling and I can stop/restart?
I'm attaching my php test file but this is a JS problem. When I scroll down in the web page and the meta refresh hits, in Windows Safari and IE6/7/8 browsers, the web page re-positions back to the top. In Opera and FF the page refreshes but it stays where it is. Can someone look at my test script and see why it is not working in IE and Win Safari? My goal is to have the web page not re-position to the top on the auto refresh.
I've implemented many galleries using Cycle, bxSlider, Carousel, etc., but this is the first time I've been asked for the same functionality with vertically-scrolling thumbs. Has anyone seen anything that would fit the bill?
I'm looking for a script which will scroll the thumbs, and show the large version of the current thumb automatically. Clicking on a different thumb will override, and clicking on the arrows will scroll the thumbs, and possibly change the large image shown.
I don't have much by way of spec., so I'm assuming a lot about the way it should function, however I haven't found anything remotely close.
I have a mysql database with a bunch of quotations in it. I created a blog at http:[url]....At the top of the blog is an iframe window that directs to http:[url]....On that page it uses php to pull out a random quote from the database. The iframe window displays that quote onto the blog.It works great except that the height is not automatically resizing.Is there a way I can use javascript to do this instead? Here is some pseudo-code of what I'd like to be able to do: (p.s. I do not know javascript or much of anything so I am looking for people to tell me how to ACTUALLY do this)
var stringvariable = http://aro2220.com/blog/index.html;
I am recently installed auto thickbox in wordpress. Now what want is to auto load a external html page when someone visit my site for the first time. I have tried my best but failed.
Am using JQuery Autocomplete on my templete, but as i get the resultsthe Autocomplete only displays one item despite that the results thatare fetched have more that one item. It only shows the first item onthe list!Example:if i have a result list with ('python', 'pythonism', 'pythodus')and on the autocomplete i type 'pyt' it only displays 'python' on thedrop down!My autocomplete code:
What i am trying to do is allow a user to get a quote on how much an item would be if they wanted to sell it. all the data is being generated dynamically on the item and passed to this JavaScript correctly. The issue is when a user changes his mind and switches his options a few times the price goes out of wack and some times will actually be more then the original price. For example. If the item was in mint condition it would be 100 dollars. If it is " good condition" then it would loose lets say 20 percent, so it would be worth 80 dollars. Now each item has 3 sections of questions, what is the condition of the item, any "modifiers" like water damage or functional issues, and then third section is if its missing any parts or cables. All of this is being asked on 1 page, and when a user changes any of the options it should update the price on that page with out the user needing to press update. So condition goes, 100%, 70%, 40%, 20%. Modifiers are 50 percent of current price of item, so if it was "perfect (yes I know an item cant be perfect and have water damage but this is just an example) thus being 100 dollars, and has water damage, that would make it now worth 50 dollars, and has functional issues, now worth 25 dollars. If it was missing cables, it would loose lets say 5 dollars so now its worth 20 dollars. Thats an example on how i calculate the value of the items. So once again, the actual amount is being passed correctly to this script, but when you make to many changes its not happy.
var time = document.getElementById("time").innerHTML;
But making it
Code:
document.getElementById("k").innerHTML = l[time];
puts false into mine div, time changes alot and is in same format as array names.That function is repeated every 100 microseconds :
Code:
window.setTimeout(myFunction, 100);
Trying to do that in console tells me that doing it like : l[document.getElementById("time").innerHTML] gives me some value while using time variable just undefined, no matter it's same value Next problem I would want my text appear somehow like this when time is 3.0:
Quote:
ABCDFH
I can already guess that would be alot of code to make it interactive but any ideas, or leads where i should start, because that is my first time giving some more attention to JS.
I am trying to make a time/date function update automatically. when i view the page i get the right time, but i have to refresh the browser in order to update it. How can i do it to automatically update itself.
i want the clients time not the servers time.
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> var d=new Date(); var monthname=new Array("January","February","March","April","May","June","July","August","September","October","November","December");
If we are going to select a item from list box after selecting it, textbox will be enabled using java script. Suppose we didn't select any item means the textbox should be disabled.
I would like to be able to resize my current window to 1024x768 and center it at the same time. I know how to resize (window.resizeTo(1024,768)) but I don't know how to center the window. The only examples I can find are opening new windows such as this:[URL] I'm restricted in that I have to have the script on one page and I cannot open new windows e.g. open a new popup window and close the opener.
jQuery - Scrolling browser Window. I have two demos of scrolling page content with jQuery.
This one - [url] is scrolling the contents inside a container and it works as I wanted on Mac/PC
Code:
I need the same effect as above but I need to scroll the whole browser window.
I have a demo here - [url]
Code:
Problem here is on the Mac the transition are jumpy and it seems to flash the first yellow div before sliding up or down. Testing on a PC it will slide down but won't slide up. How can I get the whole browser window to slide up and down with a smooth transition.
the first function(start: function ..) displays an attribute (title) of the dragged item once the sorting starts. supposedly, the second function (stop: function ..) would display the same attribute but of the item replaced by the dragged item once the sorting stops.
I have tried a lot of things already, but none seems to work.
