For example, if a user selects "shirt," then a set of text fields will auto-populate with the budget figures for a "shirt." I am not familiar with JavaScript. Would anyone be willing to explain the first steps in the project described above? Is there a way I could adapt previously-used scripts and insert my own information?

What I am looking to do is auto-populate a number of forms based on what a user chooses as a starting date.
For example:
If a user enters 12/12/2009 I want the other fields to automatically populate with the next 2 weeks (12/13/2009, 12/14/2009, 12/15/2009 etc.)
Anyone have a useful script that I can use given that these fields are formatted as dates?
The idea is to save time by only having to fill in the first date in the timesheet.
I want to have an input text on the top of the page that when I type in a series of numbers and hit submit, it populates the rest of the form.

It's for a travel agency and the idea behind it is there is a "booking page" that is basically an html form with a bunch of hidden values (like the destination airport code, the origin airport code, etc). The only thing a potential customer has to do is use a selection list and pick the dates available for that travel sale and hti submit. However, there's a new promotion coming out next week where if you book to travel for certain dates, you can use a promo code to save $100 on your vacation. What I would like to know is if there is anyway I can use javascript so that if a person selects the promotional dates, it auto-populates the promotional code text field.

This is having the following glitches. First off, obviously I don't know how to add numerical values. It's just placing them side by side as if they're text. Second, the last entry, "iBook G4 1 GHz 13"" is coming up as undefined. So looks like I've got some syntax errors.
I have a dropdown (picklist) on the page, and when the user selects one of the company names in the list the onChange event fires and kicks in some AJAX to get the company's details from the database. The details are just the various locations of each company.
The way I am doing it now I have a simple div on the page below the picklist and I am using PHP to draw out the entire HTML, including the values sought from the database, and then just using innerHTML on the div to dump the info in there.
So I have PHP which concats text like:
"<input type="text" name="city" value="$city">"
"<input type="text" name="state" value="$state">"
and then the JS innerHTML's it into the div.
But it strikes me this is not really an efficient way to do this. Should I just have the PHP form an XML doc and then use that to populate the form fields?
If so how do I use the DOM to create text fields on the page, and then populate them with the info returned from the DB?
I'm only new to Jquery and Ajax for that matter, understand JavaScript but don't work with it everyday. I have a function from Jcarousel that is populating a div with images (talking to a .txt file which contains the url), JavaScript then writes out the image.

For example my text boxes are named 1 to 9, if the user enters text in the first five boxes I want the text area to auto fill with 'you have selected boxes 1 to 5' if the user selects all nine it will say 'you have selected 1 to 9', therefore, the user must complete the text boxes in order. I have it working with an onchange event but i have a button on the form to also auto fill the text boxes and it does not work if this is clicked

I currently have multiple combos ofimage with a description text below it.I want to lay them out inrowsand inline. So if the width of page is not enough the next one should startbeginning of next row. Each image and text is currently house by a div with float left and a set width, but if you look at the attached screenshot (1.jpg), The Oracle - eBusiness Suite gets stuck because of the differentsheight due to text size and if I set a height too, then some of the text gets covered up (2.jpg). I was thinking if I can maybe use J Query to automatically adjust height to divs on the same rowto fit the biggest text size on that row?Evenjust changing all divs to that heightbe would be ok if it'seasier.

is there a code I can get that will automatically input UK into a textbox after someone has typed init.
For example someone types in their postcode NW2 2NH and after clicking out of the box or clicking submit, UK is added to the end (with a space inbetween the postcode and UK).

I have a registration form for classes. Each class has a fee. I have a
drop down box whereby the user chooses his class. There is a textbox with
the associated fee. I would like to auto populate the fee textbox depending
on what class the user chooses. In the email, the value of the drop down
box has to be the name of the class and the value of the fee text box has to

Doing a:

selects the INPUT element itself, not the text inside of it.

I have an HTC (Thanks to Beetle) that auto fills a field as a user key strokes letters into a text box. Except for one thing everything works great. The one thing is if a use types somethin in that is found, accepts it (tabs out of the field) the goes back to the first letter and trys to change the case (upper to lower or vise versa) it gets an error "invalid argument". I cannot seem to figure out why it would error. Below I have all of the code HTML and HTC should be easy Code:

The dropdown gets populated fine but the text field does not autopopulate onChange. I'm not too fluent with JS but have a good analytical mind and from what I can see, the logic seems right.

I want to display the date 19/06/2007 in this format.I want to validate the number entered in the textbox i.e for first digit of date it should not accept more than 3 (accept only 0,1,2,3). When the text length reaches 3 & 5 ie after date & month, by default this function should return slash ( / ) - this is to avoid typing / from keyboard.
