Ajax :: Inserting Dynamic Code Into Pagination Script
Feb 3, 2010
how to do ajax pagination.The problem is that my situation is different that his and I cant get MYSQL code to work with this script.URL..On the second page he explains how to pull your data to paginate from a database.well I cant get mine to work.[code]Any ideas on where to put that code into that pagination script correctly?
I implemented on my custom cms ajax pagination for my content. In that content ofcourse there are some images inside and after adding ajax pagination lightbox pop up effect doesn't work. I suppose that the problem is in javascript method in head block of my page which is following
HTML Code: <script src="ajax_req.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script>htmlData('pagination2.php', 'page=1')</script> and I call lightbox scripit
The pagination itself WORKS FINE. However, I'm trying to use a tooltip script on an image hover, and though it works fine if the page is properly cached, it does NOT work as I go from page to page, using the pagination numbers to navigate. Oddly, if I click on the picture itself, the tooltip works. You can see what's going on here [URL] when you roll over the top three images they do not initially utilize the tooltip script. However, if you click the image, it begins to show the larger image. Here is the javascript code associated with the PAGINATION, thought I really don't know where the problem resides:
I have a JSON structure in API.When I call the API in my code it returns as the same JSON .I have to print this JSON result as table with pagination in Javascript. The table should be dynamic with previous and next buttons and the table should populate the results according to the JSON and each page should have 20 entries and then the remaining entries should go on the next page and I should be able to go back and forth in the table using previous and next respectively.tell me the exact code of how to start with getting JSON from the API and then write the JSON data in the form of dynamic table with pagination.
i'm trying to insert a dynamic js file which contains multiple functions in it (for the example : function x, function y)and it seems that my google chrome doesn't really like it so muchis there anyway you know i can bypass it and make it work and both web browserscode examples:
// this is where the js file supposed to go <script id="ScriptFile"> </script>
I'm trying to insert a dynamic js file which contains multiple functions in it (for the example : function x, function y) and it seems that my google chrome doesn't really like it so much. Is there anyway you know I can bypass it and make it work and both web browsers.
Code examples: // this is where the js file supposed to go <script id="ScriptFile"> </script> //1.js contains function x and function y document.getElementById('ScriptFile').src = "/Mysite/js/1.js"
Later on I need to preform some actions with function x & y. Couple more issues I need to explain first there are number of js files (1,2,3 .... n ). Which all contain the same functions but with same data so i cant register them hard-coded. If I type the function x into the "ScriptFile" block, it does work.. its not the function problem. Same goes if i include it as source in the "ScriptFile" block (<script id="ScriptFile" src="/Mysite/js/1.js") this only gives me an error while using chrome, works perfectly fine under explorer the error says it cant find function x.
I found the following code on a web site. It creates a small frame inside a web page. The code is too advanced for me to understand. It does the job for me. What I would like to do is insert a small table in the frame. I don't know at what point and how to add the HTML code. I would also like to add a link to a CSS file.
function move_box(an, box) { var cleft = 0; var ctop = 0; var obj = an;
I'm trying to create a dynamic form, and for the most part it's working out fine.I'm using javascript with onclick and onchange on checkboxes and select boxes to change the form as the user makes selections.However, there's a few issues I'm running into that are giving me problems.
One is that when the user reloads the page, all of the javascript inserted or removed form elements are reset, but the choices on the checkboxes and select boxes aren't, which looks very strange to the user. How can I avoid this? I'm currently including scripts tags in the body of the html, but this is pretty messy and hard to manage. Is there a better way? Second is that I'd like to be able to insert javascript function declarations into text that is dynamically inserted by javascript.However, when I do so, the browser does not recognize the functions. The reason I'd like to do so is that I am using Ruby on Rails, and would like to be able to keep the scripts in the partials to which they relate. I have to use inline javascript, because the scripts are having element ids inserted based on Ruby variables. Is this a lost cause, or is there a technique that enables dynamically inserted javascript to be loaded?
Lastly, my dynamic form's javascript shows or hides portions based on what it encounters while loading. The main reason is that I want to show the whole form for users without javascript, and then hide advanced or obscure details unless they are activated with a checkbox on the form for users with javascript. However, this is creating a jarring pop-in effect, where on first load, the pre-javascript formatted page is shown for a split second, and then the javascript kicks in and fixes everything and the page visibly jumps and changes. Is there a way to avoid this to create a more polished effect?
So im working on a case where I need to make a random ad pop up every time I refresh that web page. I've got all the steps down except to where I need to insert a command to write the text to the document.
*Insert a command to write the following text to the Web document:
where URL is the value of the rLink variable, n is the value of the rNumber variable, and description is the value of the rAD variable.
what I have so far (all steps completed) is
<script type="text/javascript"> var rNumber= randInt(5);// generate a random integer from 1 to 5. var rAd= adDescription(rNumber);// description of the random ad.
I'm somewhat experienced in coding but I'm not the best. I've been trying to figure this out forever and I'm beat. I am trying to insert a thickbox popup. I am trying to use a Iframed popup code. This one as follows:
I have a question about ajax, php si mysql.. In mysql i have a table playlists and here is the code for php:
<?php $playlist_result = mysql_query("SELECT *, COUNT(playlist_id) AS NumOccurrences FROM playlists WHERE created_by=$user_id GROUP BY playlist_id HAVING ( COUNT(playlist_id) > 0 ) ORDER BY date DESC"); $playlist_result_count=mysql_num_rows($playlist_result); $i=0; if($playlist_result_count > 0) { [Code]...
It`s working fine but in mysql is inserted the id of the last created playlist, not the one that I clicked. What am I doing wrong?
This is what i need to do: I have a single <DIV> </DIV> for rendering dynamic HTML content. it already has a scrollbar in it when it overflows with text. I want to be able to prevent the user from selecting text on the DIV, and at the same time, when they click on the DIV and drag the mouse up or down , the HTML document will be scrolled proportionally to the dragging.
I am trying to use Accordion Content script v1.7 from DynamicDrive.com on some pages. I have set up a test page to show the error messages. I have changed the doctype of the page several times, including the exact one they use on the sample/instruction page on DD, but no luck. It is also throwing an error of undefined var ddaccordion, which is defined in ddaccordion.js, which is the JS file that goes with sample page , which is located in the same directory.
I've been trying to get this to work, but it will not load my test.html website into my div named Content, I also downloaded the demo found here :[URL]But I cant get that to work either, what am I doing wrong?
Here is my code. :
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I am trying to get a content of a php page(Dynamic) with the help of Ajax by sending Get request to the server page.Like the script should fetch the content of server page (Can be changeable with time )into a certain div tag that i will define. I dont wanna use prototype.js to make the script little bit faster.
how to use $.ajax for the first time and I have a question specific to how I need to implement ajax.
I have a table that is dynamically built in php from a database. The user can click on an "Edit" link that is in each line/row in the table. When they do, a UI dialog pops up with the information from the line the user clicked on. When the user clicks the Submit button in the dialog box, $.ajax will send the info to a server-side script that will process the edited data.
I haven't yet implemented the above yet, but I have a pretty good grip on how to do what I have described above.
how to refresh the table to reflect the changes the user made in the dialog. This is AJAX, so I shouldn't have to reload the whole page - I'd imagine at the most the whole table. How do I do this?
My question is why isn't this working? that it's probablybecauseit's been loaded dynamically andif ($('#load').length) is not checking dynamic content - but how would Iamendthe if statement to also check dynamic content?
I am creating a dialog using jQuery, and want to populate it with dynamic data. The data in question is properly formatted XML (parsed using jQuery). The call I make looks something like this:
function getXML() { var $link = $(this); var $dialog = $('<div></div>') .load('xml_results_formatted_jquery.php' + ' #dialogcontent')
[Code]....
If I preview the xml_results_formatted_jquery.php file, I see the data so I know the webservice is being queried correctly. However, when I call my function above, the dialog box created has no text in it (apart from the text already present in the dialogcontent DIV). The bit that shows the results of the XML parse is empty.
creating --Dynamic dependent cascading select using Ajax.It should not use asp .net, I need to add the code in a text field to generate this kind of cascading customized field.eg. initially we need to populate a select list from database. Then, on selecting an option the next select list needs to get populated with corresponding values, then again on selecting..the third list needs to get populated --this should happen dynamically(with no page refresh).
I would like to build an HTML page that has four content areas. The first with 3 links that when clicked chage what is shown in the other 3 - and so changing the default content in these sections. The content for these sections will be contained in seperate HTML files sitting on the same server.
I understand this can be done without refreshing the page and believe JavaScript and Ajax is the best method to do this. Any advice?
I'm sure some wizard will tell me this is a classic example of "piece of cake"; in which case I bow and promise to listen In case I've struck granite rock, feel free to throw questions my way and I'll tell you if I've tried it or not.
I have a file, main.php (I know this is the JS-forum, bear with me). It outputs HTML and inline Javascript functions. When the user clicks on a graphical "tab", that tab is activated, and an ajax call is made to fetch.php with some specific parameters. Once the ajax request has completed, a given innerHTML container on the now active tab is filled with the stuff that fetch.php outputs.
So far so good.
The problem is that the stuff that fetch.php outputs is partial pure HTML and partial inline javascript. And this is where it gets tricky. If I declare an inline javascript function in the returned data, Firefox (and I suspect MSIE) refuses to understand that the function is there. It simply doesn't exist (!).
Using the Web Developer add-on for Firefox, there's an option to look at "Source code" and "Generated source code". The output from these two differ in that when I view the "Generated source code", I see the dynamically inserted javascript/HTML from fetch.php, whereas viewing "just" the source doesn't.
What did I do wrong? How do I get the browser to find/accept/activate the javascript code/functions that were inserted dynamically? I cannot put them in a .js file and include it, since they need to be dynamically created, and I cannot use eval() since that executes javascript "as is", in which a function will not be executed unless called.
