Basically, I have it so that when you click something, then it expands and then shows text. The part I am having trouble at is the text being a php include. Here is the line that works for pre-typed in information:
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("toggle");
[Code]....
The above toggle code works perfectly.
How can I edit the code to use buttons instead of text? In other words: How can I replace two different texts that say "Show" and "Hide" with two different buttons that say "Show" and "Hide"?
I can add a onclick="code here" to the tag so that when the drop box alabama is selected it triggers the onclick event. Im using Ibox in order to have a image of the state open.
Code: <a href="images/large/image_1b.jpg" rel="ibox" title="alabama at 1024x450!"><img src="images/small/image_1.jpg" alt=""/></a>
the above is a <a> link tag correct? How do I go bout adding the above code into the onclick event?
I tried to create a function to reduce some in line code. However something is wrong with the function call getGenderChoice() because the code stops working. If I comment out getGenderChoice() and uncomment the lines that would be in the function it works properly. What would possibly be wrong with a function call that seems to follow function rules?
PHP Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Main</title>
What I Need:An auto-suggest feature(1) so that when a person types in an address and presses go it automatically brings down a menu to show a list of relevant addresses (for example someone types romford road, it will bring down the different "romford roads" that it can find), upon clicking the desired "romford road" it is then automatically marked on the map.
How will it be used?Im using Google maps(2) with a FROM and TO text boxes, that when valid postcode/road names etc are typed in, it calculates the price based on distance. Adding an autosuggest will speed up the process.
(1) [URL]... This is the page I am currently using, when the customer fills in and presses calculate price, the price is shown along with the route plotted on the map. The calculate price button is then hidden and a "click here to book" is made visble which then passes on the various variables to a booking page.
(2)[URL]... The autosuggest feature on this page is EXACTLY what I need although I have no idea how to merge it with my one
i have two images which are part of a rollover button that i want to have paused until the intro animation finishes. I have the javascript code but the rollover images are specified in the css. I just have the id to them in the html. I was wondering if anyone knew how to include the rollover files with the pausing javascript code. the files are profile.gif and profileover.gif. I tried to add the files to the preload part of the javascript but that didn't work.

I am trying to figure out how to make an online quiz via Javascript, based on just a couple questions (4 to be exact) from a question-bank, and I want only 2 of the questions out of the 4 to appear when the quiz is taken (randomly of course).I found a great template online for what I want my quiz to look like, however, it does NOT have the random add-on functionality I would like.I am not looking for the 'answer' or for someone else to do the workHere is the quiz template I found:
<?xml version = "1.0" encoding = "utf-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-W3CDTD XHTML 1.0 StrictEN" "http:www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
I am trying to make a gui for clients to edit a php page that displays html and javascript.
I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.
Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?
It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.
Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?
I need US zip code formatting on my page. As zip code can be 5 digits or 5-4 digits, our requirement is that when user types in 6th digit, hyphen automatically gets added between 5th and 6th digit. Ex: user enters 100161, it should become formatted as 10016-1 and then user can continue to add rest of digits.

adding a parenthesis in the area code of the phone number and validating it also. I made some javascript code but it is not working. I just need the code in adding () in the area code.
For example: When user enter 10 digit number no spaces or dashes such as 0000000000 or 000-000-0000, I would like to have this format right away (000)000-0000. I know how to replace the characters but adding it is a tricky one for me.
I'm working with a javascript/jquery framework that allows me to build crossbrowser plugins.What i'm looking to do is add a floating DIV onto every page the browser loads. I know that to add css onto a page, normally you need to grab a class or id. However, in this case i do not know what classes/div's are available.What would be the best way to add css onto a loaded page after the page is loaded without knowing any classes/id's?
Based on the lack of responses to the last hole (which I am attributing to one of the following:
a. The hole being too difficult,
b. It being overly time consuming, or
c. People not wanting to do it)
I have decided to take a step back for this hole.
Create a Javascript include function. This function should include a javascript file (when given a URL) into the current page assuming it wasn't already included in the page (either via the include function call or by HTML). If the file is already included the function should just return.
This function should either take a file name/ path to file or a full URL as a parameter. If it is a filename/ path the function should include the file from the base URL of the current site (such as [url]). If it is a full URL just include it.
Make sure you don't allow files to be included multiple times, we don't want that!
Using the following code example from Scott Robbin, which simply allows for separate html pages to slide in and out of the one screen, I wanted to expand this by sliding in some DHTML.
Here is the page-sliding code used: [url]
DHTML animated code: [url]- [url]
But, at best, only the images show, placed still and next to each other. As you will see the DHTML is a rotating set of imagery. Something in the page-sliding code seems to be preventing that DHTML animation from displaying as it should. Like I said the images will be recognised, but they don't display - I've even tried hard linking to the images.
Here's my page: [url]
Here's the page which I have on my server, the one I would like to have slide in: [url]
To see the sliding animation click the bottom "What cachet does" option that slides the right hand pane in.

I have two problems that I suspect will be bread-and-butter problems for the more experienced guys on here, but I'm not the greatest with js.
NB: Code snippets at the bottom
The first problem is that after a bit of fiddling I'm getting am 'Object Expected' error when I click on the Depot dropdown which I can't seem to get round. The code I had was working OK but then I cut it all out, tidied it all up, and put it back in and now it doesnt work.
The second problem is a 'How do I...'. I'm using an XML data island to retrieve some data without submitting the form. In the first example, when the user selects a Customer, the Depot list is updated with all the depots for that customer; This all works fine. What I want to do now is retrieve some more data when the Depot is selected.
I have the XML bits working; the js code snippet correctly output a series of msgboxes with the correct value in (or at least it did until I introduced the Object Expect error!).
However, I'm unsure as to how to display this information on the page. The XML contains a series of Part No's and Quantities, which I'd like to display in a table towards the bottom of the screen. The problem is that I don't know how to dynamically create and populate this table.
The only caveat is that I dont want to show the table if no values are returned from the query....
I am using infinite scroll plugin. I am adding new elements to the page. I would also like to add a div using after().However because these elements are being added after the DOM has loaded, it is not being picked up.Here is the code I tried.
The following code adds an element to a page when a new address is inputted. Is there a way to remove all added elements with a Clear All button? I have a "Clear All" button with id="ClearAddresses" but I don't know how to remove all created elements - the code here only removes one at a time, since the element is created when the "Search" button is clicked.
var Dom = { get: function(el){ if (typeof el === 'string') return document.getElementById(el); else return el; }, add: function(el, dest){ var el = this.get(el); var dest = this.get(dest); dest.appendChild(el); }, ..... setTimeout("add_visited_address();", 50); }
i have added this datepicker[HIGHLIGHT="JavaScript"]
[Code]...
now when page is loaded, out of order but when i click the calender button and when calender open, the page is fine, it feel like that when i open the page the very last div which is footer and rest outside wrapper for bottom footer, works in perfect manner
I am looking for a cross-browser way (Firefox 1+, IE 5.5+) to have my Javascript function execute from the BODY's "onload" method, but if there is already an onload method defined, I would like mine to run immediately after it. So in the code below, what JS would i need to add to my "myfile.inc" page so that I could guarantee this behavior? Code:
