Adding Function Number By Date?
Dec 7, 2010
I am working on an HTML project that displays a field with a number in the field by each day. What it does is start at 0 on day one. Each day it adds a 1 to the field. Day 2, the field would say 1, then day 3 would say 2, and so on. I am not sure how to approach this. This is also displayed in an HTML format. I want to to be automatic and change as the date changesI will also need a way to reset it back to zero if possible.

function AddDays(days) {
var thisDate = new Date();
thisDate.setDate(thisDate.getDate() + days);
return thisDate;
}document.write(AddDays(366))
</script>
This is what I get: Thu Aug 09 2012 16:45:34 GMT-0500 (CDT)

i've got a program that gets input from a user, and then stores it in a cookie. That bit is fine, what is a problem is that its just overwriting the data each time a new entry is made, i believed this to be something do do with it not being numbered entry's, so i added a number into the entry, but for some reason it wont add 1 to the number variable each time the function is called

I am delving into the coding world and while I understand the basic principle of cookies, conditional statements, arrays, etc...I have looked around the web and this forum with little success. If the situation below is too complicated, I would really appreciate even a shove in the right direction regarding the logic.How could I show a preset counter which counts up from a preset, beginning number toward a preset, end number? I imagine the increment and speed is set be the difference between the two numbers and a timeframe.
:confused: Assumptions:I would rather not set the increment but edit the end number to show a steady increase. As I update that number, the increment adapts dynamically. I would want the number/script to be useful, so it should not refresh to the beginning number on each page load (i.e. num=0). When a visitor comes to the page, it must seem like the counter has been steadily been increasing in their absence.Coke or Pesi did something similar one time regarding cans sold to date (doubt it was plugged into a DB somewhere but rather based on a steady sales figure) and it was pretty cool.

how to approach this but I have a date input that uses a jQuery pop-up for a calendar, and enters the date in a format d MMM yy (1 Jan 11).
Not everyone wants to be clicking and choosing the date from the calendar but to be entering it just as a number such as 0101, 010111 or 01012011 which can be faster. This would then need to be converted to the d MMM yy format as per the jQuery pop-up when they exit the input box.
So really only if it's a number format it needs to look at the number of digits... and does the conversion.
Has anyone done something like this before? Or is there a link to how I could go about achieving this?

I have a textbox with a date formatted 'dd/mm/yyyy'. I want to be able to add days to the date so that the month ticks over if the days exceed the days in the month and the year also if the month value passes 12. Currently I have the below. This adds to the days but will not tick over the month.
<html>

<script type="text/javascript">
function calDate() {
var dateArr = document.getElementById('testinput').value;
var myDate = new Date();

For a project that would be too hard to explain, I am working with date ranges. There is a begin date and an end date. With those two variables, I need a function to calculate the number of months between both dates. To be more precise, I need a count of all unique month names in the dates (or month numbers if that is easier) where the range includes the beginning date, the end date, and all dates in between. So I am not looking for full months or an approximation. If only, say, one day of a given month is included in the date range, that adds a month. Also the range can span several years, january 2010 and january 2011 need to count for two different months.

I am trying to add a calculated number of days to the current date. Here is my code:
Code:
var tempday=new Date();
var adddays=1+(7-tempday.getDay());
tempday.setDate(tempday.getDate()+adddays);
In this case I am calculating the number of days until the next Monday. Since today is Tuesday, it calculates 6 which is correct. The resulting date should be 11/1/2010. However, the month is not wrapping because the result is 10/1/2010. How do I fix this?

I need to add 18 months to a date entered on a form and show the results to the user without the time. so a date like 1/1/2000 is entered and the results should be 06/30/2001. I am parsing the string and adding 18 months of milliseconds to the date. While I have gotten this to work, it is not correct because each month has a different # of days.
add 18 months to a date entered by a user?
Code:
var str = document.form1.startdate.value;
var d1 = Date.parse(document.form1.startdate.value);
var d7 = d1+86400000*30*18;

I want to create a script where when you hit a button it adds a number to a variable and when you click another button it shows you the amount you have so far. Also I am having trouble with the clear() function where it was suppose to clear the variable. When my var is equal to a certain number (not there yet) I want it to goto another page (I can do this on my own).
Here is my code

I have a pretty basic HTML form, it doesn't go to a database or anything, it just gets emailed directly to the owner of the website with their customer query.However, the owner has now asked that each query be assigned a random reference number of no more than 16 digits which must also be visible to the customer.I presume this will be relatively easy but I'm a complete beginner with Javascript which I assumed would be necessary for generating the number. I've sort of figured out how to generate the number but I can't figure out how to get that number into a read-only field on the form so that it will be both visible to the client and sent with the rest of the data on the form to the owner.I've had a number of attempts but this is what I'm trying at the moment:
Code:

I am making a form using HTML and java where you enter a number and it uses an equation then spits out another number. My problem is I want to split the number you put into the form and add it up. Example You enter"457829"Press "convert"And the first step I want it to do is"4+5+7+8+2+9=sumA"Then"sumA/8"So far I can only do the sumA/8 if I manually add up the numbers then place the sum in the form, here's the code:
Code:
{
var a = parsefloat(form.NumA.value, 10);

This is a hard one for me: I got some elements with the class "tiles". What I am looking for is a function, which adds a class "flip" to each element but with a delay between each call of addClass(".flip"), so that the elements change the way they look sequentially, not one after another, but with a delay. Has anyone an idea?

function addInput()
{
var x = document.getElementById("inputs");
x.innerHTML += "<input type="text" />";
}
function removeInput()

ah, i've just looked into the operators in more details and -= is just for numbers... so this won't work. i presume this is going to be the wrong method then.

ave this form which gets created by pulling stock/products from a database using PHP and beside every product in the row is a little box for input and in there the user can input the quantity of the product they want. Sometimes only 2 products will be outputted and other times 10 or more.What I want to happen is when the user enters in lets say 3 for the quantity of a certain product I want to get a total for how much 3 of that product will cost so I just do 3 multiply by the cost (which I have from the database) and then display the total cost down under where the list of the available products are and I want all this to happen dynamically obviously not using PHP because I don't want the page to have to reload every time they enter in a new quantity.
I know how to display text and stuff in certain divs with certain ID's using Javascript but I just don't know how to keep track of a form and do what I want to do when the number of inputs in the form can range from 1 to 10 or more. Im thinking of some sort of counter which gives every input a different ID like add 1 at the end of the ID name of the input as the PHP script loops through the database query displaying the products but I still don't know how to go about the Javascript side of things

I want to build a dynamic list of items with jquery but am unsure how to add an index number to each of the items i create so that i can reference them to edit or delete them for example. So far, I have the following which just creates the items and appends or prepends them to the element depending on whether one item exists already. I just need a way of adding an attribute so I can then reference the current item when clicked and remove it. What would be the simplest method to use?
//create list items
if ($('.mylistitem').length) {
$('.myList-box').prepend('<div class="mylistitem"><div class="mylistitem-image"><img width="30" height="40" src="[URL]"/></div><div class="mylistitem-title">' + title + '</div><div class="mylistitem-options"><a href="javascript:removetitle();">Delete From List</a></div>');
} else {
$('.myList-box').append('<div class="mylistitem"><div class="mylistitem-image"><img width="30" height="40" src="[URL]' + titleid + '"/></div><div class="mylistitem-title">' + title + '</div><div class="mylistitem-options"><a href="javascript:removetitle();">Delete From List</a></div>');
}
