when you click on the link a new page html page opens and on that new page, information found in a database with the id of 12(as found in the link) will be displayed using external style sheets etc. Can this be done with html css javascript and json? P.S I know how to do this with php however I want this to be done in my mobile app so the actual page cannot be a .php page
It is possible to perform a find in page search that looks at a specific link, opens the page in a new window and finds the text within that document?? Basically I regularly use an html page in work that has a list of people and their telephone numbers. I want to be able to type in a searchbox on my main page and it open the target page and find the name I am looking for? I would like to include drop-down navigation links on my home page that connect to other pages on my website. No problem there. The problem is that some of the other pages contain a series of div elements that are hidden (display:none) until activated by javascript enabled links on the page. Clicking those links changes some of the page's content (within a div) .. almost like a "new" page. [URL]. Here's my question: Is there any way to create menu links on my home page that will open the "concert.html" page AND display the appropriate div content at the same time? For example: on the home page, a menu link under "Concert" that opens that page and automatically displays the "Rock Symphonies" section?

I'm just starting up in web design and I have an interesting challenge that I'm hoping can be solved w/java script. I have a site with an application form. When the form is to be submitted, the form data needs to be emailed to the correct person to handle that particular application. However, that can't be determined by anything specific in the form. It can only be determined by the link that they clicked on to get to the form. I really don't want to have 22 identical forms with just a different EmailTo addie, which is what the previous site developer did. Someone please tell me this can be done w/java script? I have a server side include navigation using classic ASP. I tried to use jQuery cookie which I store the id of the link clicked into it in order to asign a class on that link but not on the current page but on the page that the link is pointing!

I'm using the jmapping plugin and it's all working great - when you click on a location link in the side bar the map pans to the location. However what I also want to happen when I click the location link is to load more information about the location onto the page.The idea is to load the div from infodivs.aspx which has an id that matches the href of the link that was clicked. I can make the whole page load without issue but I can't get my head around the syntax for identifying the href of the clicked link and then inserting that into the load statement as a div id.I've tried this.href but if that's actually the right approach, I haven't phrased it right so farHere's the code:

I have a login link that is supposed to open a modal and then direct the visitor to a submission form once they are logged in. Here's the link code: <a href="/resources/submit" class="login">Submit New</a> and the jquery based on an example in the ninja book:
When I put a path name in the href, the modal opens but then quickly closes itself and sends the visitor to the form. If I use href="#" the modal opens and stays open, but when the visitor submits the form they are returned to the page they were on rather than the submission form.
I keep setting this aside and coming back to it, thinking I'll understand what's gone wrong here, but I still don't. I'd like this modal to work for other links with different paths, so I don't want to code the redirect into the js - I want to be able to control it in the link itself.
As I understand PHP has to use AJAX to store SESSION variable with simple link. I like to click on link and SESSION variable (SUBMIT) will be stored inside each SESSION.Is there any working example how to do it with AJAX and trigger this link click to store SESSION variable?

I'm new to jQuery and have a problem with links inside an accordion.

The problem is, that the links inside the table are not active. If i click them, the accordion is closing What do i have to do, to keep the links inside the open accordion as normal links, without closing the accordion?
Im updating a website to use ajax instead of Iframes. Ajax is working fine to load html content into a <div> yet my issue lies with the navigation buttons that trigger my ajax requests.
I have css styled buttons that contain <a> links </a>, i have removed the href and used a onclick event instead but when i remove the href the mouse will lose its hand cursor on hover and the css styled buttons stop working correctly.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.5 on Vista 32 Home Premium SP2 and only recently noticed that (javascript/jquery being enabled) link focus is lost when you tab through a page, follow the link to another page and then hit the backspace key to come back. Tab navigation continues at top of page, not with the next link after the one in focus before.
No problems in this respect with IE8 and Opera. As soon as you disable javascript with noscript, the problem disappears and link focus stays, so that tabbing brings on the next link instead of starting on top of page again.
Just confirmed it on jquery/com (following navigation link to Plugins and hitting backspace) and on learningjquery/com (navigation links). A Google search didn't yield any answers nor even any similar reports on this particular problem.
It's even more irksome in my particular case, since I have just implemented a stylesheet switcher in order to enhance certain accessibility aspects, but ironically this particular bug leads to a loss of accessibility.
Does anybody know what might be the reason (version 1.3.2.min related?, cookies related?, etc.) for this and how to solve it?
Below is an example of a synthetic click in Firefox. The browser does not follow the link. Is that the just the way synthetic clicks work of am I doing something wrong? I know the synthetic click occurs because if I add an onclick attribute to the link the handler runs. Any ideas? Code:
