I'm trying to make a function that will enable any given form field. This is what I have, my form name is 'searchfields':

I'm trying to to enable a text field with javascript (it is disabled originally). The name of the text field is duo[x]. (I need to keep the brackets so php will reconize it as an array.) In javascript, I was trying to use to use: document.form.duo[x].disabled = false; (but that didn't work).

But it's not working, it stays disabled after load even when the DOA is selected in the dropdown form field.
I'm looking for a method of making a form field appear (namely a textbox) upon selection of a particular checkbox in a form field. I'm able to do it from a dropdown menu item, but how do you do it with checkboxes? Code:

This code i completely html but i am posting here in javascript forum because i need a javascript function which can be embedded in this html code so that the columns account number and and user id become editable. Means: this code is not complete as of now.In account number and user id column i can enter at the max three strings for every market.The whole page will be static only except the account number and user id field in the table.My question is how to make this particular column editable.Means i need to have two buttons.Clicking first button makes the field editable and i can edit the column and when i click the other button eg:save or something then the cuesor automatically goes away and the page becomes uneditable until i click the first button.
I have a form with a postcode field in it
I want to add a button or text link next to this field which if clicked on goes to the google maps url querying that postcode
i.e. if the postcode text in the field (form not submitted) was SW1A 1AA then without submitting that form there would be a button / link next to it which when clicked on went to [URL]

Consider this:
A table with a form around it. Each row of the table is numbered 1 to
20. There will be a form field on each row for Artist, Title, Label, Mix
and Genre. There will also be an up and down arrow to move the contents
of each row up and down.
I need to create 2 javascript functions. 1 to swap the contents upwards,
and one to swap downwards.
The link to go up or down will pass the row number to the function, and
the fields that need swapping. The function will then take the values
and swap them over.
Is this possible? And will it work cross-browser cross-platform? Any ideas?

I thought this would have been fairly simple but it appears the onchange event isn't triggered when a hidden field is populated by other javascript without user input.
I have a simple search box and autocomplete/suggestion ajax thingie going on.
What I want to do is have my "Go" submit button disbled until AFTER a user has populated the hidden field "cid". A user populates this field automatically when they click on a suggested option from the ajax autocomplete doofer.

I have javasctipt,radio buttons, and textfield in default my textfield is disabled, and when any of radio buttons was click it is disabled also, but when the radio button of the textfield is click it will enable, it works fine and submit the correct data. When I went back to that page the radio button of the text field was checked (ok its fine because it has value) but it didnt show the value of the text field, and it is disabled.
