View 1 RepliesIf the value is equal to 0 it will give an alert and return false. Then if you change the value of the drop down it won't let you submit.

why the alert inside of the load function isn't working?
PHP Code:
preload: function(source,width,height) {
var proto = $(document.createElement('img'));
var w,h,r;[code].....
Why won't this work?
Nothing pops up for the alert.

What I have is a link 'What is this?' and I want, when clicked upon, for an alert box to popup. I should be able to specify the text contained in the alert box, and for there to just be one button, an 'OK' button. I'm sure this is quite easy, I'm guessing it's something to do with onclick= but I'm not sure about these things. Please could someone point me in the right direction as to what I could do here?

I am using simpleTreeMenu plugin and it is working fine except for the following. I am building the tree dynamically. If I put in an alert ( //alert("Herem1" + ulidp); )prior to the call of the simpleTreeMenu() function, the page works as expected. It allows me to expand and close the tree, and an alert appears if I pick the selected leafs. But if I take out the alert prior to the call of the simpleTreeMenu() function, the page is not working as expected. The tree hangs, it will not expand once closed. It is like the simpeTreeMenu needs a bit of hang time between the unorderd list (the tree) being built and the invokation of the simpleTreeMenu() function. Does anyone have an idea why this might be the case?

In Salesforce, I am adding what they call an "S-Control" via HTML/JavaScript that will display an alert if certain field criteria are met. The alert would be a reminder to hit the "Submit for Approval" button if the Quote Estimate is equal to or greater than $50,000. For testing purposes I added another criteria, that the Opportunity name must = Test and Stage must = Proposal/Price Quote.
Here's what I've come up with so far, taking from other examples, but I receive no alert

When using the code below the alert returns a value of null. In the past this has never happened, it has always returned the xml file I'm requesting. I have noticed a strange difference between browsers. This script is used to fill a form automatically. In its current state it works perfectly in opera, but does not work in firefox or IE (used to work in all the browsers). I'm by no means a javascript expert, am I missing something here?

I have a series of links on a page whereby when the user hovers over the title then an image appears next to the link so it basically shows/hides the image on mouseenter and mouseout. I'm presuming this is a fairly basic jQuery request but I've been hunting around for a while now and can only seem to find more complex examples that I can't seem to disect.
The code in my page is:
So when the user hovers over the "Link" then it will show "myimage.jpg" next to the link.
I'm doing a show/hide div on hover, and what I have works...only when I hover over the .pics-nav div, it blinks repeatedly.
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#product-images').mouseover(function(){
$('.pics-nav').fadeIn();
}).mouseleave(function(){

how to solve a situation like this? Just a super-duper simple thing, but I'm having lots of problems with it.
I was trying to create JavaScript error handling for a form, and I was trying to get an error message to show up underneath the field where there was an error. (I am trying to avoid alert boxes.) I only have two fields, and my problem is that only one field is showing an error message. If I place an error in the input for the second field, the error shows up under the first field. How can I get the error messages to show up under the correct form field?
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]">
<html xmlns="[URL]">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8" />
<title>Carrots</title>
<style>
.qty {
width: 25px;
text-align: right;
}.blank {
display: none;
} .....
For example I have this sort code:
for ($i=0;$i<$db;$i++) {
$t1="toggleh$i";
echo "<div class='c'>Test<input name='$t1' type='image' id='$t1' src='test.png'/></div> <br>";
}
I try to make clear the screen for users, so I use hide & show to hide some row on screen what users actually don't need...
The JS part of code is something like this:
$('#toggleh0').click( function() {
$('div.showhide').toggle(400);
});
$('#toggleh1').click( function() {
$('div.showhide').toggle(400);
});
$('#toggleh3').click( function() {
$('div.showhide').toggle(400);
});
.
.
.
I dont know how can do this dynamic. So if "$i=6;" then I need toggle 0-6 function...
This is meant to be a very simple animation. Everything seems to be correct, but it doesn't seem to run. Basically it is a system where the image is 50px taller than the box it is being displayed in. When you hover over the image, the image is meant to move up via jquery to show the bottom (previously hidden) 50px and cut off the top 50px.

Here is my HTML:
Code:
<div id="container"><div>
<a class="none" href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><img src="/themes/smo/portfolio/<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, 'portfolio_img',true).".gif"; ?>" alt="" /></a>
</div></div>
Here is the Jquery:
Code:
$(function(){
$("div.container div a").hover(function(){
$("img", this).stop().animate({top:"-51px"},{queue:false,duration:200});
}, function() {
$("img", this).stop().animate({top:"0px"},{queue:false,duration:200});
});
I think its something to do with the container class.

I'd like to have an alert of some type, either standard alert or a hidden div, show up when a user selects an option in a select element.
For instance, if a select element has 5 options in it and the user chooses the first one, they would get an alert that says "You have chosen the first option". I'm confident this is something that can be done with a few lines of code, but I'm not sure where to begin.
Here's the logic - I'm just not sure how to write the syntax...
If ("#select option") changes and ("#select option:eq(0):selected"), fade in the div ("alert").
I have a simple font size function as follows which works fine across safari/firefox but does nothing in IE?[code]...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty new to jQuery so try and go easy. Trying to do a simple AJAX POST using the jQuery post method and it doesn't seem to be working.
Heres my code:
$.post("sub-account-ajax.php", { email_address: "test@test.com" },
function(data){
alert("Data Loaded: " + data);
});
Heres the code for sub-account-ajax.php:
<?php
if (isset($_POST['email_address'])){
echo 'youre set';
}else{
echo 'nothing set';
}?>
When this code is executed I do not get any alerts or any error messages whatsoever. I've been pretty good with figuring things out so far with jQuery, but this is the first I'm stumped with.
I have a site where I am using the Sexy alert plugin. I don't know why its not popping up. Its probably something small I am over looking. Here is the site: Click here

I'm doing some simple tests and I can't get this to work on a wordpress site. Basically I'm trying to fadeOut a div with id of "box" when a link is clicked. I mentioned Wordpress because the head code is loaded dynamically into the page template, as well as the body content. I wasn't sure I this made a difference in diagnosing the problem. When I load the page, Firebug keeps giving an error...
$('a') is null
Here is my stripped html code...

<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$('a').click(function() {
$('#box').fadeOut();
});
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="box">

<a href="#">Fade Out</a>

Okay so I have the code as below. When the page loads both alerts trigger as they should and all the code works. If I take out the first alert, the second one still triggers (so I know the code is reaching the bottom) but for some reason my .change() function stops working. Placing an alert just inside does not trigger so it must be something before the .change(). Firefox's error console shows no errors though.
