Text Red When Counter Is Negative, Green When Positive?
Jul 6, 2011
I'm just starting out learning and have sort of given myself a couple of basic problems to solve. I pretty quickly found something that's apparently hard to Google.I've made a page that shows a counter number, starting at 0, with buttons that will increase or decrease the number by 1 or 10.So I'd like to figure out how to show that number in red when it is a negative number and in green when it is a positive number. I've tried a couple of things, including an if... else, but here's my latest crack:
var counter=0;
function countUp() {
lastCounter=counter;
I have a calculated value that is negative, which I need to display in a javacript prompt as positive. In ColdFusion, there is a function called ABS(), which gives you the absolute value of the number in question, so ABS(-5) = 5. Is there something similar in javascript? If no, how would I display a negative number without it's negative sign? Again, this is only for display purposes withing an alert.
I have a long paragraph and I have been asked to display words in red and green in such a way that that fist word should be red, 2nd word should be green, 3rd word should be red and 4th word should be green and so on. For example: this is just a sample.
Hello everyone... I've got a question about an onKeyUp event. I'm using a text box that HAS to be a negative number therefore it has to have a - sign in front of the number. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to write a function to do this? Thanks so much...
I am building a website and the client wants a counter that starts at 0 on January 1st and ends at 10,900,000 on December 31st. I have basically no experience with writing javascript, only plugging in tutorials I find online
I am trying to count the characters in a text area in a form for sending sms from web to phone. Bulk sms standard is: maximum sms pages are 7 i.e 1071 characters; page 1 contains 160 characters, page 2 contains 146 characters and the rest 5 pages contains 153 characters.
Here is a javascript function I wrote but it's not working
function countPage(){ var clPg1 = 160; //character limit for page 1 var clPg2 = 146; //character limit for page 2 var clOtherPg = 153; //character limit for other pages
I have a certain file in my webpage that my readers can download I want to know howmany times this file has been downlaoded
Googling for Download counters did not help so i thought may be..may be.. if i could get the number of times the particular link has been clicked (i know this is crude)..then i can arbitarily say.. that it has been approximately been downloaded so many times..
Write a program which takes a series of positive integers as input : 1, 2, 3 … When input is complete, as indicated by entry of an end of data flag ( -2), the program will output the largest of the entered values.
I would like to be able to make it so that an order form only submits positive results.I have modified this form for my friends website. She has 50 different products that she makes (different sizes and colors). The form submits results for things ordered but also for things not ordered.
I'm currently doing on a project, frankly speaking i'm new in javascript only know the basics. I'm not even sure whether this thread is suppose to be here or under html.. I'm suppose to create some codes that enable a html page to load to the next html page when the mouse move from left to right within a specific time and distance(positive X coordinate) and also the other way round (right to left) once i figured out this. I've got an example online and edited it. Please take a look at my codes.
[Code]...
test01.html is just blank page created to make sure it loads. However i would like to load from test01 to another html page but no matter how i tried to edit the codes, there's errors. I cant possibly copying and pasting the exact codes to every page i want to load to right? And is it possible to sortof increase mouse sentivity such that i can most probably load to the next page in first few tries of moving the mouse on the first page. Is it common that when i launch the html on IE and Firefox somehow after showing the first page for maybe 1 second, it immediately jumped to 2nd page and i have to go back to 1st page to try out.
I have 3 textbox controls on my web page that are numeric currency fields in which a user can enter a numeric value, either positive or negative into TB1 and TB2 (both of these fields go thru edit checks to make sure a numeric value is entered and then return a currency value ie; $2500.00). TB3 is calculated resulting in TB3 = TB1 (($6500)) - TB2 ($2500).
My problem is that if a user enters a negative value for TB1, it returns a "NaN" and the value in TB3 turns out to be the same value as in TB2. Essentialy the calulation ends up being 0 - 2500 = 2500 (see screenshot). I've attached 2 functions below.
Code: function cal_Overage_Shortage() { if (make2Number("TB_LowPoint") <= 0) { document.getElementById("TB_OverageShortage").value = GetValueTextbox("TB_LowPoint") + GetValueTextbox("TB_RequestedLowPoint");
I have the following calculation (simplified to focus on the point):
Code: var scroll_percentage = scroll_button_distance/scroll_wrapper_width; or imagine this is:
Code: var scroll_percentage = 100/500; The answer is -INFINITY
How do I make this into a usable number?I searched for INFINITY and found plenty of info but am not sure how to simply get the "0.2" answer I need for the next calculations.
I occasionally need to set a negative margin on objects for positioning but 1.6.x ignores the declarations. This use to work fine with earlier versions. Has this issue been addressed? I tried all the combinations I could think of and the setting is ignored if a value is negative. (did not find a problem reference when setting a negative value in the forums)
If a negative number is entered into the reading variable it should be displayed as a zero. This works with the first calculations such as average but right at they very end the the alert wont display the highest average it just displays the one which has a negative number typed in to it.
I have a long paragraph and I have been asked to display words in red and green in such a way that that fist word should be red, 2nd word should be green, 3rd word should be red and 4th word should be green and so on For example: this is just a sample.
I never have done, such a thing, I need some code in javascript alone with html, first red color flashes 2 times, then green color flashes (blinks) 2 times, and so on. The size of the colors maybe around 2 X 2 inches.
I've been trying to figure this out for hours. I want to write a js so that if the number in the 2nd column is negative, then the javascript changes the css color to red, so that the number is red. If the number is positive, then make it green. Do I need an array or loop, I just can't get anywhere.
I have a function that does some calculations and populates some text fields with the results. I also have a function that changes the font color of the numbers to red if they are less than zero. What I dont have is a way to make them work together. I imagine I need to pass the results of the calculation function to the change color function, but not sure how to go about doing that. Here is the calculation function:
function to calculate the total costs, gain/loss and return percent. function calculate() {
I have a problem in asp application validation. My textbox only accepts numeric value.It should not accept empty field and negative values and charcters.I am not aware of IsNan function.
I need to make a calendar which hilight the days date green. e.g. today 25/07/10 will be hilighted green. This is probably really easy but I am really new to JavaScript Here is the code.
Is there a way in a regexp to *not* match a fixed string value?
Using [^blah] gives matches to anything not containing *any* of letters b,l,a and h. Whereas I want to match anything that does not containing the exact string 'blah', i.e. *all* the letters.
I have a site I am working on that I did not build and am having problems with an ajax / javascript call.I was hoping someone with firebug could take a look. I have firebug but I am not a js guy.The big green button that says add to quote list is a link with an image BG. It should swap classes when clicked therefore changing the BG image to a red one as well as the text at the very top right of the screen swapping to add a number to the list of items in the quote list.Sometimes it works... I think only the first time it is clicked, sometimes the text in the top right changes but the image does not etc. If you click it and it does nothing but the refresh the page then the class will change which is weird, it's like it's trying to switch but cant until you reload the page.
[URL] The calendar shows, from left to right, Monday-Sunday. For each day, the date turns green from monday-saturday (for example, try to set your computer day to 15 January). However, no green color is there when the day is a Sunday (the absolute right part of the calendar).
