My goal is to have a simple navigation/menu at the top of the site, where depending on a selection from the navigation (in most cases by selection) the selection would pull up or "call up" a theme image in window A or IFRAME A, which resides side by side to window B or IFRAME B which will also populate at the same time with content to coincide with the theme image (IFRAME A).
Basically I want to encapsulate all the content with a certain sizing of the browser window ... IFRAME A would stay static and would not scroll in any direction so the theme image would stay resident and visible next to IFRAME B which may--or may not require vertical scrolling. Code:
I've been trying to create a home link in a document that is shown in a frameset of two frames. My aim is to show the first documents that were shown in the frames when the frameset was loaded the first time. The link works perfectly in NN4.5 and 7.1, but IE6 and Opera7 are causing headaches.
I've tried to do the link with the following script:
function home(h,g){ parent.fRight.history.go(h-parent.fRight.history.length); parent.fLeft.history.go(g-parent.fLeft.history.length);}
fRight and fLeft are frame names. The function is then called in the following link:
Does anyone know how to target a link to a div tag. Basically instead of using an iframe, im using a div tag with overflow, and I want to have it so when a link is clicked, that href is loaded in the div tag..
I have a drop-down menu within a frame that is spawed with a href="#" on a button. I have it set up so when you click the button that spawns a page in the content frame.
Problem is that 1 of the buttons needs to open a new window. I can't use a target=_top or whatever 'cuz that would just load the navigation again.
I tried this but it just loads it in the same window: ... onmouseup="top.location.href='url.com' ...
I read a thread on this forum about double target links. People said that the only way to do this was to make a java script, and so i did. This is how i did: Code:
I wanted to add to the menu another image link so I copied the same coding, but I do not know where to place the URL target that I want opened. I know I want the userID (dUid) also to follow this link as well. If I want the coding below to act in the same manner as the coding above, but instead open a page called /gift.php, where do I set the Url?
Using cycle "pager" to call anchors with buttons within ONE page. but, i'm also trying to call these same anchors to show up when referenced on that same page, but from a link on a different page.
I can't seem to get the external page link to go-to the proper anchor on the destination page. I've tried the simple:
<a href="http://website/womens-apparel#">Womens Apparel</a> (traditionally, this would go right to the destination anchor on the targeted page)
I've also tried to set an ID to each anchor in the the destination div, but it won't reference it.
Code: <a href="#" onclick="window.location='http://YourSite.com'">click here</a> I want to make it so that it opens a new normal browser window just like target=_blank does.
is it possible to use keypad URL...for multiple input and textarea? What I want is to position a keypad in a corner of the site, and whenever a key is pressed I want to insert the key to the field which had focus.
Basically, I have a link that should open the targeted link in a blank page, and upon the link being clicked, the original page's URL should be changed. The reason for this is that the user has to browse information on another website, and then pass the information on to me via a contact form, so rather than make them click back on my tab in the browser, and then find the "Contact" page link to fill in the form, I thought it would a good feature to simply go ahead and load the "Contact" page upon them clicking the link to the external page (which of course loads in a new tab). Here is the code I have in place:
This all works fine on my computer, regardless of the browser that I use. One of my partners on this project called me this morning and said that the link was taking him directly to the "Contact" page without opening the "Other Site." This is strange because after I put this in place, I showed it to him and it worked fine. Now, a few days later, and it does not work. He said that he cleared his browser cache, history, cookies, etc. and the problem did not go away. He uses IE8. After he told me it was no longer working, I went to test it myself, and it works fine for me no matter which browser I use (IE8 or 9, Firefox 3 or 4 Beta).
why this might have worked one day and not the next? Is it simply a problem on his computer, or could it be an issue where based on what type of browser you are using, this won't work. Also, I know this is the JavaScript forum, but is there a way to do this in PHP without using the JavaScript onclick event? Obviously, I can't use the header() function since this functionality needs to be present on a link within text of a page.
When you right click on a link you get the option to save target as...(ie) and save link as...(netscape). Is there some JavaScript to call this function like the JavaScript to open a new window?
i want to submit form data from the popup window, close the popup, and load in the main window. problem is, it always opens a new 'tab'. i'm using google chrome, i didn't think to try this in
in the <head> of the 'main' window: <script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'> window.name='main'; </script>
However my problem occurs when the user uses the browsers back arrow to return to the previous page, the script executes again returning them once more to the page they have come from. Is anyone aware of a work around to this problem as it would seem there isn't one? perhaps even a better solution for opening the target page from the iframe as top location. This is really causing confusion for users, and I really need to get the issue fixed.
Im having this problem with multiple onclick on one link. I have a link on my web page that i need to track with two Stats programs, and i need this link to be openned in a new tab. So i need these 3 events (open i new tab and both trackers) to trigger each time a visitor clicks on that link. The 3 onclick i need to use are these:
I have a simple FLV player that I would like to use in an online video store. I would like it set up so that every time a user clicks on a video to preview, the video plays in the player that will be on the side. How can I set this up so that the player will play an opening video when one enters the site, and then whenever someone clicks a video, it will play in the same player without loading a new page. Can someone show me how to do this using Javascript?
i have 3 links... (eg. stomach, brain and heart). and also 3 images (stomach.gif, brin.gif and hear.gif) when i click stomach i want to display the image of stomach and hide the rest. ALSO there are another 2 links (view cross-section, and view inside) and images associated with this if stomach is selected, clicking the 'view corss-section' should display corss-section image of the stomach (together with the stomach image).....if brain is selected, clicking 'view corss-section' should display corss-section image of the brain..
Am using jquery and javascript to load images.Everthing is working fine, but I would like the user to be taken to a webpage for each of the images below.
Code: function PreloadImg(){ $.ImagePreload("/images/slash2.jpg");
I have lots of links in the page, click each one addClass 'voted' to this link. then save the effection into cookies. so that next time refresh web browser, it will save the addClass event. I use jquery cookie here: [URL] My code here, but it will only save 1 cookie. I mean if I clicked link 1, link 2. it always remember the last click. refresh the web browser. only link 2 addClass 'voted'. link1 missed addClass event. so how to save multiple cookie for every link?
I have a simple form in a div... On The Ocean: Edit Rates Is there any way to achieve an effect somewhat like "How to Create an Animated, Sliding, Collapsible DIV with Javascript and CSS". Except Id like to be able to click the same link to open about 12 of the same forms below it (Each time I click the link, a duplicate form would appear below the above form but above the link so it can be clicked again).
i'm looking for something special i guess. cause normaly i'm googling for something i have in mind, put jquery to the search string and voila, but this time i've searched for almost 3 days and give up now.
i am trying to implent a references site. the idea is that you have 1 html site with a list likereference 1reference 2reference 3 ..... with clickable links underneath.
then you have an element centered or somewhere else on the site (e.g. defined as a div area)
now if you click on reference 1, the centerde div should fade in the text, maybe with pictures too. if you click on reference20, the centered div you fade out and the content of reference 20 should fade in an the exact same place.
I am struggling to produce a script that will call ajax content intoa uimodal dialog every timea relevant link is clicked. I wish to use multiple links calling different ajax content into mutliple useuimodal dialogs from a single page
I am working on a project that relies heavily on AJAX calls, they are done in dozens of places. There are a number of places where I would want to prevent the user from submitting information multiple times (form submissions etc ). I am trying to think of the best way to accomplish this.
I could simply disable the element that starts the AJAX call upon the first click and re-enable it upon completion of the call. I have also seen examples of developers using a class to handle ajax calls that store an identifier for the call and if it is in progress any new calls with the same identifier will be ignored.
I need a counter that will display beside a link, with the number of times the same link has been clicked. I do not have FTP access to the site, since it is based on a CMS.
