Split() And Copying From One Form Field To Another

I am retro-fitting a Point of Sale system and I have run into a problem with splitting out information entered in one form field and parsing it into 3 others. This works just fine in FireFox but not IE. (I get "object expected"...) The purpose here is when the card is swiped in the system, and they hit the tab key on the keyboard, the string that the card enters is split into Card number, Name, Expiration Date.
(I found a script online and modified it to fit the existing form, I do understand the code, but in the spirit of full disclosure I didn't write it from scratch.)

I have two forms on one page. I want to copy the content of one field in form1 to another field in form2. I don't mind using a button. I've put in the code, but it doesn't seem to work. The first field is a long select box, and the second field is the same. Is this the problem? Can you not copy from a select box? In the first form, the select box is populated by the user. I just want to copy the items they've put into the select box into a field in form 2. Here's what I got for my copy button:

I am trying to copy the billing information to be the same as the shipping information when they select the checkbox. Everything seems to work except for the State field which is a drop down. Depending on what country they select, the state field will automatically populate. how I can copy the billing state to be the same as shipping as well?

I have a web form that requests a user full name and email address. What I would like to do is when the user fills in the full name in one input box, I would like to take the full name and populate the email address field as such. "first.last@allstate.com". So pretty much split the full name and popluate email address field "first.last@allstate.com".

1. First form on the page has questions with radio buttons. Each radio's value is a number so a score is assessed at the end.
2. Second form on the page is an email the admin form, which duplicates the score in one field.
Question: I would like to know how to write the form results to a text area in second form. However, I can't do this for one, and secondly, the value is a number, can I use labels? Here's the code I've 'made up' so far...

How could I use Javascript to copy form data in text boxes on one form to the text boxes in another form in a different browser window. For instance, if I have the following form in the main window:
<form name="form1">
<input name="your_name" type="text" size="15" value="John Doe" />
<input name="todays_date" type="text" size="15" value="8/12/2011" />
</form>
Here's the psudocode for the second form:
Upon clicking that link a second window opens containing the form:
<form name="form2">
<input name="full_name" type="text" size="15" />
<input name="todays_date" type="text" size="15" />
</form>
How could I use Javascript so that the click of a button will copy the contents of "your_name" and "todays_date" in form1 to the new window's "full_name" and "todays_date"in form2?

The following form validation script works, currently if one of the five fields are completed, a message appears the remaining field(s) must be completed etc. Although the information the user has inputted in the first field is cleared. How can this information be available, if there is one problem in the form it doesn't make sense that the user must re-input all the information again. I look forward to hearing your response,

my javascript code is only validating one field at a time (as in it validates on field then submits the form, instead of going through the entire thing and then returning it as true and submitting it...) I'm not sure what to do to be honest, I've looked up google to no real avail.. my variables are declared in a seperate file to the actual even handlers and I have heaps of comments through out it, so please don't judge lol i'm still learning Quote:

I have a site for property bookings with 2 calendars to enter start and end date. The calendar im using doesnt have any obvious facility to copy yhe date to 2 fields so each one has to be done, months in advance this can be a real pain.
Does anyone have any ideas how i can take the data inserted into one field and copy it to the second?

I've have a function to take the value entered in a form text box, add 50 to it and put the result in another text box.
When I enter 650.5 I get 700.5 exactly how I'd expect. But when I enter -650.5 instead of getting -600.5 I get -650.050 as though it is failing to parse the float due to it being negative. My understanding of parseFloat was that it recognises negative numbers. Is there a nice simple way to get this to work?

I need to pass user input from a form to one database field. I'm relatively new to JS but the idea I had was to have several form elements and use JS to collect the users input and send all the values through a hidden element. What's happening is the variable names are being sent rather than the values. The code below is only passing to the next page. Limitations: I am editing an intranet site built by a 3rd party so a lot of the files we've been given are encrypted. I cannot change the method to post.

I work for a very large company that has zero communications between IT and the employees...so there is very little possibility of having any code changed.I need to use a web based system that submits orders for my department. The problem is i must order by "task number". I could have 20-30 task numbers so to complete the order I need to go to my company's page and fill out 15 form fields and submit for each task code. It is a terrible pain. 14 of the 15 fields are the same for each order... only the task code changes.

I've set up a mock registration form page so I can learn a bit about javascript's form validation. (newbie) I want to try to attempt to style the border of a form field green when the user enters the correct info into the form text field and red on all other fields if the user doesnt enter any info into them. When i test it, enter the right info into the username field, leave the others blank, and hit the submit button it styles the username field green ok but it doesnt make the next fields (password and so on) red. just for testing purposes I've put return false on everything so it displays a message when everythings ok.[code]

I need a utility that will basically add a "Copy OnClick Event" to my
right click context menu in Internet Explorer IE. I am a super newbie
in javascript. The following code works for IE5, but not for IE4,
which doesnt have setdata, getdata, etc. methods for dealing with the
clipboard. The folowing code is invoked by a registry context menu
entry. When I looked at IE4's copy system uses execcommand, it only
works on something that is selected as far as I can see, I dont have
anything selected, because user isnt going be highlighting, and that
wont get the onclick attribute value. All I have is a variable string
in javascript with what I need to get into the clipboard. How can I
make this code work in IE4, so I dont need to force users to get IE5?

I have 2 text boxes on my page. When the user clicks in one text box, I would like whatever is in there to be copied to the other text box. Is this possible? I have looked into it and onClick seems like it might do it but I can't get it to work.

I'm still learning Javascript, but I had a quick question regarding copying images to my clipboard. There's an image that I want to copy to my clipboard from an HTML page:

I've been reading that this is called an "HTMLImageElement." Is it possible to copy this element to my clipboard so that I can later paste it into a paint file and save it?
