I am posting two variables to a php page:
$.post('poll_receiveData.php', {question:currentSlide, vote:vote},
function(output){ ... })
}
currentSlide is set to 0. vote is set to 2. When I look at my console log, these are true. But in poll_receiveData.php, I'm unable to use a conditional statement with $vote. It's like the program doesn't know how to compare things to $vote. But a SQL statement using $question works just fine. Here's my code:

I'm trying to write a modal login script which I borrowed from the SimpleModal site. Unfortunately, I'm running into a very frustrating problem.
When the user types in a valid login/password combo, the PHP function do-login.php echos back "OK". That being said, here's a snippet of my jQuery code:
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "do-login.php",
data: str,
[Code].....
The do-login.php script DOES echo back "OK"- I verified that with Firebug. But even though it echos back "OK", it goes to the 'else' clause.
I tried using return instead of echo but that didn't help either.

system.
I want to send people to a page, that performs a check to see if the
website on the other server is ONLINE. If not then display a message

I have done some searching and it seems that I might be able to use the

This doesn't seem to work. Am I referencing this.value incorrectly? If so, what's the proper way to get information about what the user clicked?

Goal 1: display errors above the form on same page
Goal 2: direct users to a new thankyou page when form is submitted.
The form uses ajax. I am able to get it to work with the error messages displaying correctly but as is, the thankyou message also displays in the same spot and the form is left filled out. I need it to direct to a new page I designed for the purpose.

I have a problem with this javascript function:
Code JavaScript:
function redirectPage(form) {
var Side = document.SideSkift.Side.value;
var Skill = document.SideSkift.Skill.value;
[Code]....
If total_pages has a value of 65, and I enter 7, 8 or 9 into the "Side" input field and hit go/return then it'll always redirect to "side" (page) 65 why is that? If I do 1-6 or 10-65 it'll go to thus pages.

I found this script for a navigation fade-in/fade-out and I want to modify it so it'll only trigger the fade-in/fade-out functions of the span class is NOT set to active. Here is the javascript:
Code:
$(function() {
$("#nav ul#menu li span.active").css("opacity","1");
$("#nav ul#menu li span.active").hover("opacity","1");[code].....
It's the part of the code beneath the comment CONDITIONALS BELOW that I want to be able to only trigger it if span is not set to class .active.

I have a script that loads various SWFs into a div called flashBox using a function called loadSWF whick I'm calling from different span tags.The project is a for a tutorial, which loads a different animation into flashBox for each step.My problem is this: If I take my mouse off of a step, even if I don't mouse-over a different step, the SWF gets reloaded from the beginning.What I'd like to do is append the following script with an if/then statement that looks at the current SWF in the box, and if the file is the same one as is being send from loadSWF as the "url variable, do nothing.The site is located here, in case you're not following me: URL...So if you take your mouse off a step and then put it back on, the SWF gets re-loaded. I want that to stop.[code]

I am trying to make form in dreamweaver with several text boxes. If the person doesn't fill out one or more of the boxes, I want an error message to come up which lists which boxes weren't filled out. If they ARE filled correctly, I want the page to redirect to a thanks page.This isn't online, and I'm new to coding. But its going ok, I just can't get the form to validate AND redirect if return true (or something???). I don't know how to do that. I've tried googling it, searching youtube tutes, and reading a few javascript books, but no joy.[code]

Let me start out by saying that this is for a small-time page with absolutely zero valuable information. PHP or server-side is way beyond the scope of my goals for the project.
Basically, I have a form on a page which I want to use to submit a password. However, I have realized that using the form submit always makes the browser return to the page with the form.
Well, that's not good when I want to redirect using javascript!
My javascript is:

My form HTML is:

How can I get this to stop going back to the page with the form after I submit it?

I am creating a simple "fill form" function for a specific page. The function will fill the form and click submit. after this a second form appears which needs to get filled and also send a click to submit button.
Unfortunately when i append the script dynamically to a page, when the page gets refreshed,after the first submit click, the script stops executing and therefore the second form does not get filled at all.
I searched and found out that if I append the script to an independent frame it will continue executing.
Note that the original pages do not have any frames. so I must somehow create a frame on top, append the script and run it.

I would like to know whether a jquery click function can be used in an"if" statement.The reason why I am asking, is because I haven't seenany examples of this being done on the web. I want to use thisapproach because currently Jquery keeps initiating two events from onemouse click, eventhough the css for each element is different.Ithink the best way to avoid this problem is to use flow control toexclude the other mouse click event. If element A is clicked then
