I used this part on my pages with success, but after moving it into a list it is not working at all anymore:
<ul class="languagelist">
<li class="info"><a href="#">Read this page in English</a></li>
<li class="info"><a href="#">Read page in Russisch</a></li>
<li class="back"><a href="javascript:history.back()">Return to last page</a> </li>
</ul>
I have a page built with asp.net that includes some "imagebutton"s within a form. These render as input tags with the type set to image. I ahve the onclick attribute set to run a custom javascript function and return false.This has worked fine for the few months the code has been in place and then just recently (within the last few days) it has stopped working for a single network user. They click on the link and instead of the function executing (and the AJAX loading details into the page) the form submits. This makes me think that the "return false" simply isn't executing. The user says that they haven't changed any settings or anything that may cause this issue...
The browser being used throughout the company is IE8 under Windows XP. I have checked the version being used on their comptuer and it is 8.0.6001.18702, which is the same version as the one installed on my local machine which is working fine. Another user has logged into the computer being used by the user with the issues and it works fine for the second user.
The "View All Show Times" href should toggle a show/hide div. All of sudden, it's not working IE 6 (FireFox and IE 7 work fine). This never happened until today. Could an altered browser setting have caused this behavior as I didn't change the code? It looks like return false is not firing.
This will work in Firefox, wont in IE8.Although I cannot reproduct it right now, at some point IE was also working if I had a confirm instead of a false... (weird eh?).
As for my "UpdateTable"
Code:
function UpdateTable(myID) { var aa = document.getElementById("displayTable");
[code]....
If I get rid of all the "innerHTML" it works (so I suppose if I create elements and append them it would work, but im hoping for a solution instead of taking that route).
I have this form entry <input type="text" onkeypress="return numbersonly(this,event); lessthan100(this);" name="discount_value" id="discount_value" value="" style="width: 40%;" maxlength="3" class="input-symbol-parent"> which calls two javascript functions. The first one works without a hitch... no letters can be entered into the field. However the next function (which at present time, just contains an alert) doesn't fire and I get no alert.I need to check if it's a number first. Below is the number checker.
I'm pretty new to js, but i've searched this issue and it seems simple but it's not making sense. I'm trying to make the link dead I have this within a div of my html
I've been trying to make my very ajaxy site more SEO friendly, lots of the returned actions from ajax can be retrieved as a full page, so it's just a matter of exposing the links. Up until now I've had 'span' tags which I have now changed to 'a href' so that the search engines will follow them. I've added the following code so that if the event should send an ajax request, it does that, or if it should go get the full page, it does that.
<div id ="messageDiv" style="display:block;">No profile information entered yet</div> <script type="text/javascript"> function profileInfo() { var m1 = document.getElementById("marital1").innerHTML.toLowerCase(); var b1 = document.getElementById("bodytype1").innerHTML.toLowerCase(); [Code]...
The first part up to before the 'else if' works. but if the 'w1' has [URL] it still doesnt return true and display the DIV block??
What i'm trying to do is pretty simple. I want to detect if the value of a field in a form called "check" and if the value is "1" return the user to a different page. i also want it so if the value is anything else the user is returned to the homepage. Here's what i have so far:
When use text/html as header for my page the method element.offsetWIdth/Height work as usually and return the real width/height of an element, but when I use XML as type (which is necessary in modern browsers to use strict XHTML) the function returns just 0.
Can somebody help me, it's very important. The prototype function Element.getDimensions() doesn't work in strict mode.
I am using a dropdown box with 6 options. On change I want ajax to return part of an HTML/PHP page that corresponds to one of the 6 questions. I was trying to put and if statement on the return page to determine the part that I wanted but I didnt work. I rather not create 6 HTML/PHP files for each of the options. Here is part of the CODE
I'm buildning a permissions system. If the database check shows that the user doesn't have access to the PHP script she tries to access, I want to diplay an alert window telling her so. And when she presses the "OK"-button, I want the browser to send here back to the previous page that she came from.
Is this a javascript problem? Is there a quick and dirty solution?
with jquery, i try to get the margin-left ($('#mydiv').css('margin-left'), but the function return 0px, unable to retrieve the good value (auto) anyone has idea to retrieve the value "auto" when margin-left is "auto" ?
I'd want that: at the first user's click on the #register div, the div #registerForm become visible, it should remains visible also when the user click the submit button within and it should disappear if the user click a second time on the #register.I partially solved my problems with this:
Code: $("#save_photos_all_continue").click(function() { event.preventDefault(); var $black_white_all = $("#black_white_all").is(':checked'); var $color_all = $("#color_all").is(':checked'); var $other_all = $("#other_all").is(':checked'); [Code]...
In Google Chrome it works fine but in Mozilla/5.0 it actually goes to the save_edits page instead of just using the post and staying on the original page.
I have a html document with some jquery which is working fine...i pasted the same code in aspx page but its not working properly...i am not able to make out where the problem lies...
I am writing a small data entry screen that will post the form data to a page and return a message. But i cannot get the Success or Error functions working properly.
Here's the code where strData is the posted querystring of:
I'm not sure whether it should be in a form and using the onsubmit or click of a button.
I have a tab that scrolls through images in a frame through javascript. It works in one page, but not the other. I'm trying to get the page not working to work, obviously. I also have checked and temporarily fixed validation errors, and that doesn't help.
Working page: [URL]
Same images in different page: [URL]
I've been trying the "BDirect lists" on both pages. Java: "new SimpleSlide". Just when I think I am close, I can't get it to work.
I should start off saying I dont know the first thing about java script programming. I have 3 scripts on one of my pages, the first script is for a slide animation, the second is a hover intent script and the third is a headline animation script.
I know if I comment out the hover intent script, the first and third script work. So my question is how to get the hover intent script to work correctly and behave with the other 2 scripts on the page. I read your post on "on body load" or "runscripts" calls with 2 scripts but I could not find such calls in these 3 javascripts.
The hover intent script does not do what I want it to do on any of the pages that I have installed it on. When you first load the page the menu items are sitting above the slideshow and when you hover your mouse over the navigation from left to right they sort of jump and its not until you get to the contact image at the end that the slideshow moves into the correct position and then if you go back and hover over the home image the slideshow jumps up and down.[URL]...
