Resolve An Invalid Assigment Left Hand Side Error Message?

I have written a function to compare each character in startString with another nominated character (nomChar). If they are the same this character is written to outputString, in the same position. If they are not the same a character is lifted from the same position in altString and placed in the same position in outputString instead. I hope that's clear!
Code as follows:
However, the line of code within the if statement outputString.charAt(count) = nextLetter; keeps generating an 'Invalid assigment left hand side' error message.

I'm busy creating a website and I've implemented a gallery of sorts using this script below to make it move the images, however when it gets to the end of the cycle of images it reads the last image as the last one to reach the left hand side which is obviously quite unattractive. So all I would like to know is if there is someone who can alter this code to make it so the last image is read on the right of the block thus resulting in no blank blocks. just to start off i know my way around php and sql but not js and that is why i have posted here. I paid for a side bar to be made for me in js. Everything was working fine but a few days ago i got a error message saying" An error occured while requesting the data.Status Msg: Not Found " And the side bar has stopped working The function php page is pretty big so will attach it to this post. I would upload the js file it self but says im not allowed to upload so put it in a text file and upload.

In the demo [URL] the inline error message pops up to the right. Because my form is all the way to the right of the screen, I need to display the inline message to the left or top of the form fields and not to the right.

I have dozens of pages on my website which have just started showing an 'Error on page' message at the bottom left of Internet Explorer 8.0. These messages do not appear when using Mozilla Firefox. My website is www.lakesandcumbria.com and an example of a page showing the error message is [URL] which contains a javascript drop down list. All other pages using this type of drop down list are showing the same error message (dozens of them).

Firebug is giving me no error messages, but alert() message is never triggered. I want the alert() message defined below to alert what the value of the variable result is (e.g. {filter: Germany}). And it doesn't. I think the javascript breaks down right when a new Form instance is instantiated because I tried putting an alert in the Form variable and it was never triggered. Note that everything that pertains to this issue occurs when form.calculation() is called code...

I have been using the JQuery Cycle plugin on my website and love it! It has so many options and seems customizable to do basically anything. My question is about the previous and next buttons. At the moment I am using next:'#next2, .pics img', prev:'#prev2', to make previous and next arrows underneath the image as well as use the image itself a "next" button. I would like to remove the arrows underneath the image and just use left and right halves of the image as a previous and next button. Previous being the left half and next being the right half of course. I've been searching for this being posted before and have not found any discussions on it. Also, the JQuery Slideviewer does what I'm trying to accomplish: JQuery Slideviewer Demo

And I realize that I could go through each line of what I wrote and figure out what line triggered this portion of jQuery. I'm testing my webpage in IE8. In firefox it looks and runs greag, but in IE 8, one issue I'm having is this: I have a button that opens a popup window. Works fine in Firefox, but I get 'invalid argument' error in IE8 and the window does not open. I've enabled at a whim some scripting things in the Internet Options.
Here's the code. The "invalid argument" occurs on the window.open call.
In addition, is there any way to have that tile I've given it, "my Site..." appear in the window header? Right now it's not appearing at all in either browser.

I'm looking for a jQuery plugin, which could create a flyout of a container from left or right side of a page on some event (onClick or onMouseOver).
The example can be found at [URL] when the page loads some shopping ads slide from the left side of the browser screen (it's shown automatically only once, to see it again you need to delete this website cookies and reload the page - it would be great if the plugin had this cookie-based feature).

Using a while loop in a function, I am trying to test an input character against a stored string of characters. I want the function to return the input character only if it is not in the stored string of characters. The code I've prepared is as follows:

I'm trying to diagnose/solve a problem with internet explorer, whereby
sometimes the form submits, and other times IE produces an 'invalid
syntax' error.
First, I have a form, and within the form is a button bar and a <div>
block which contains a table of parameters. The div block is used to
create a layer.
Now, when the table contains 15 or less rows in it, any button on the
button
bar which calls form.submit() works as it should, however, where the
table has 16 or more rows, the form.submit generates an "invalid
