Resize Any Images Over 150px Wide Without Mess Up Layout

I'm coding my new website, and to save bandwidth, i'm letting users link to their own avatars, so I want to resize any images over 150px wide so it doesn't mess up my layout - simple, right? Well, you'd think so, but I don't know any javascript, so i've scrapped this together with what little I know:

I'm am (to say the least) useless with JavaScript. I need to script that will automaticly resize an image that has no ID to be no more than 380px wide and a scaled hieght. E.g if the image was originally 760px wide and 100px high, then the resize one would measure 380x50.

I've made some sites in flash that make use of popup windows, which are Javascript called on from flash. Now, the client wants them all to be viewable within this specific site (let's call it MAINSITE) that uses two frames, the top for navigation. Within this framed environment, however, the popup script won't work under IE 6.x browsers - it will either do nothing or open up an error page in the flash/html frame (seems to vary from the different versions of 6.x).
There IS a way to make it work, but the link from the MAINSITE has to link to "../whateverthesitesfolderis/main.htm" and not "http://www.whatevertheothersitesdomainis.com/main.htm" in order for it to work. The problem is, for stats purposes, the client wants it to link to "http://www.whatevertheothersitesdomainis.com/main.htm". So my question for you is, if you actually understand this problem (I find it hard to explain), how can I make this work?
Here is the popup script I'm using.

Also, the site works fine in a framed environment, just not one that is hosted on a different domain, it seems. And the popups work fine if they're triggered by links in HTML, just not ones in flash.

I am appending an image via Javascript but IE6 will NOT consistently resize the image to its natural width and height. The exact dimensions of the image vary but are always 100x100 or less.ave tried using CSS like {width:auto;height:auto;} but this is not reliable. I append "?" + now.getMilliseconds() to the image SRC to prevent the browser caching it (because the image can change but the filename doesn't). If I omit this query string, then IE6 seems to resize the images correctly.I also have to float the image and I've noticed that removing the float fixes the problem. I tried to use display:inline instead of float but it didn't work.

there I am using the below code to resize images posted on a forum, however when the page is loading it loads the images full size on sreen stretching the page to however wide the largest picture is and only resizes them once every picture has loaded and the page then goes back to normal width.oes anyone know how I could make it so the images only display once they've resized ?

I have a web application with an aspanel, users can add images, the program automatically make the thumbnail. when user click on thumbnail they can see a pop up modal page.
Images are in different sizes, so what I need to achieve is to get the screen resolution or browser visible area and re-size the image according to this resolution. (users could have different type of computer screen with different resolution), I need a Javascript or jquery code.

I have list of thumbnails, there are 5 rows and each of them has 5-8 images. am trying to re-size those thumbs according to browser window size. I don't want to get scroll and I don't want the images get cut. I want them all get smaller accordingly to the window size. Is that even possible?

I'm making a portfolio layout with images in a list (grid view), and I½m working with an fixed-fluid width on my #wrapper (max-width: 1075px; min-width: 960px; ). This works fine as long as Im showing full width, but when Im resizing the browser window the img thumbs floats down an leave a gap on the right side (the <li> is set to float:left; ) (as well as it should). But this is not the effect Im after, I want the img thumbs to resize with the browser window, and I have managed to do that width CSS (example: width: 28.1%; ). But I want a hover effect with text over the images (and that makes a mess out of %), so now Im looking for a script that can do the resizing for me because I can't use % on the image if I want that effect; and that I DO!So do anybody knows about a script that can help me with my problem?Specifics:I'm no wizard in .js so it would be fine if it is well documented on how to implement It should be possible to direct to only img with a certain class (don't want all my images to go bananas when resizing )Maybe control image size in css?And of course keep correct image dimensions!I'm not sure if this matters but; this portfolio is going to be implemented in WordPress.

I have been trying for ages to find a way of making a series of images within one div resize according to the size of the users window or their screen resolution.
how i can do this? i know jquery uses the .resize function and am hoping i could give the div with images inside a function to change size according to the window size.

The actual width of the browser window can be in a variety of DOM locations based on the browser:
width = window.innerWidth
width = document.documentElement.clientWidth
width = document.body.clientWidth
to mention a few.if the DOM also holds information about the width of the printed page?

I've been trying to install a new shopping basket system to my wordpress site called Easy Basket. Eventually I've managed to get it up and running on preview pages and the homepage but the basket doesn't display on any other pages?Apparently Firebug relays a 404 error file can not be found when Ajax Get tries to write the basket into the page.Here is the coding installed into the head section

I'm working on a client's site and I decided to use a slider [URL]... it can be seen there as I develop it.
Here's the problem: If you refresh the page enough times, the table that contains the slider will go SUPER wide, it will go 2400px wide in fact. 2400px is the combined width of all my images.
When I followed the tutorial here on jQuery.com that value was originally set to 99999px ... you can imagine that before I changed that value, the table forced the page out to 99999px wide ... annoying.
Why not just adjust the width to the size of one image? Well I tried that. Each image is 600x300 so I set the width to 600 the result was ... WHOOPSIBROKEIT. The images stack all on top of eachother and slide together. I've noticed that when it happens it also throws off the alignment of the top portion of the site, for instance my center tags -- I'll be looking to see if maybe something outside of the plugin is causing it.

Im using the cycle plugin trying to make a banner slide tha is 100% the width of the window, my problem is that when i resize de window the banner does not align center, it stays somo what left align. So is there a way to keep the slides align center after you resize the window usingthe cycle plugin? or is there another plugin that i can do that? I attached a image to ilustrate, the white banner with the cat should align center when i resize the windows but it stays left align.

I'm trying to develop a function to resize a control upon window resize. In regular javascript I would make a global array of control names and append code to the event that cycles through and resizes each control.For example

I'm wondering if there's a more elegant way to do this in jQuery. I've played around with it a bit, but i'm unsure how to get the control object to the resize function triggered by window resize without a global variable.

I'm trying to scale the text with the size of the window (I've also got all the layout sizes in ems, so this should keep the aspect ratio of everything the same as the window is resized). The code that I've got at the moment doesn't do anything -

I got different looks in firefox and IE by using same code. I made a sign up form. If it's browsed by firefox, the elements will misplace. If using IE, not problem at all. BTW, I am using DW to make the form. Any hint?:thumbsup:

I'm not sure it's possible that using javascript to locate/get
components X|Y then other language, like java-jsp to save/retrive these
data.
For instance, a GUI presents a layout of tables/chairs for a
exhibition, some small images represent tables/chairs of various
sizes/styles, which considered as movable components in this GUI, and
their positions specified by X|Y.
regardless of how to connect to database (initially javascript should
be able to provide every components' X|Y).
Can any one tell where to find a example, or the idea to implement?

I have upload image script. where user can upload their images. The width and height of the images are not limited. Users can upload any kind of images. Now the problem I am facing is if users upload large images and small images, the layout get scattered. So I decided to do layout similar to here they have aligned the images very nicely. They looks prety aligned in the way of rows and columns. they are not scattered. So I would like to get exact same layout.
