my code below works for BillingAddress2 but it doesn't for ShippingAddress2 (when you click off the ShippingAddress2 form field it alerts undefined)these form fields are in the same form

There are two input fields in a form, but only one of them is required, they are not required at the same time. Either A or B is required. ( A is required OR B is required). In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time. How to implement this constraint in Jquery form validation?

How can I make my form disappear once the form has been completed and the success message pops up.
I'm trying to make my form both check that the e-mail's match and also be case insensitive when being submitted. I've figured out how to get the e-mail's to be checked to match, but can't figure out how to also make it not case sensitive.

I'm using jQuery Validation on my form with ajax submit, but for some reason the label error message is replacing my input field completely. I can't figure it out for the life of me... Here's my html/js. I'm using the default validation since i'm using the ajax submit. I've also tried the custom error's with no luck. Both the label.error and input are displayed as blocks.

Having a few problems with a form validation script. Its supposed to stop sending the form if key fields are missing, but it just sends them anyway!

From what i can see the fields match, it all links up correctly but still it will allow blank forms to be sent.
I'm having trouble changing the font color of my labels ONLY when I stop the form from submitting due to blank fields. I'm not sure whether if just changing my CSS will achieve what I want, or am I going to have to add somethig to my if else statement, or both? I would think I would need to change CSS to :

I have a working contact form with 3 of the fields requiring validation and they work well. I have added extra fields to the form (StatusClass, Project, CameFrom). These 3 fields return fine but I need to validated them. My problem is that the new fields don't show in the behaviours/validate panel even though they are within the form tag.

The attached page has 3 entries to be made. Now I want to validate them, that is, if the form is submitted with even one blank field an error must be indicated. I have put the validation code but it doesn't work upon empty form submission.

For example, if someoneforgets to prefix http:// before an url, I can just do that, instead of returning error messages. Or sometimes, a field needs to be lowercased and I can just do that, too. I've found ways to do that, but it feels like a hack. Am I missing a feature ?

I have a large form. One part of it is a column with selects. All drop-downs initially set to "No". The only other option is "yes". I need to make sure that at least one select is set to "yes". Any number, even all of them can be changed to "yes", but only one is required. I can easily add a rule that requires all the fields of the certain class to have certain type of value, but can't think of a way in js to only have one required. I can easily count number of "yes" values with PHP and prevent submitting on the back end, but would really like to have jquery do it first.

Now at the moment it simply displays a "Required field" message, but i want it to highlight the text boxes in red instead, take a look at the link below, hit the submit buton and see what happens.. I call it 1/2 AJAX, and it's really inefficient by design.Q: How can I remove unwanted form controls from the request without removing them from the DOM? If I remove them from the Form element's DOM, they disappear from the page, which is not what I want.I suppose I would have to alter the xml -or- request data before it gets sent to the server but how do I access that, then manipulate it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a form that has 4 "required fields" that validate using JS. I am now trying to add a 5th "required field" (the difference is that this field is a "radio button input as opposed to a text input).
I have it working so that when the 1st radio button is selected, the form will go through. However, when the 2nd radio button is selected, it comes up with the "please fill in all required fields" error.

ah, i've just looked into the operators in more details and -= is just for numbers... so this won't work. i presume this is going to be the wrong method then.

User can add more input fields by adding "Add" button; I'm using JavaScript for that purpose. By default, only a couple of fields is shown. I want to validate these all fields using a loop or a number of loops, such that an alert appears if any field is left blank and also if any value in title[] array matches another value in that array and same for the second array url[] Examples of working would be something like this:
