I am trying to remove spaces from the 'username' field but leave the spaces in the first and last name fields.
The below code removes *one* space from the string but no more.

now i need that if the email id contains white blank space in front of email id or end of email id then this validation should pass otherwise not.
at present if there is blank space in front and end of email id then the validation doesnt passes and gives alert.
what should i add in it to validate it or how can it automatically remove white spaces before validating.

I have a form which open in a jQuery Fancybox Window. The fancybox window opens automatically when the page loads. When it loads, I would like it to set focus on the username field in the form in the Fancybox window. I have found that this must be done when fancybox is envoked, thus I have tried the below code which does not work :

Essentially I want to be able to send people to a different URL depending on their login details but without having to do anything too complicated or secure.
I have a jquery dialog with a registration form in it. My problem is: I want to check if the username (input) already exists in the database, if so I want to return a error.

If I do a $.extend(json1, json2) then I will lose my user name.
If I do a $.merge(json1, json2) I will keep my username, but my mod will not be overwritten.

I'm trying to, when a field blurs, run a query to see if the username is in the database, and echo whether the username is available or not if it's in the database.
