I need a script that when an option is selected in a drop-down box (select tag) an input tag appears and I am still pretty basic at javascript.
I was using a script that worked fine but because the variable of the option that makes the script go required the "|" character, it interfered with a PHP script in my document and screwed everything up.

what i want to do is have a selection from 'tst' trigger an input into 'choose' from the data inputted into the 'fname' and 'lname' fields. for example, i want option '1', when selected to draw the input from 'fname' and place it into 'choose'or i might want to select the data in 'lname' instead, so i will tie option 2 to it, so when the user selects option 2 the contents of 'lname' go into 'choose' instead.
How can I automatically select the next option from a select box? I would like a next button to scroll through the options.....

I have a telephone input on my form. It is an optional input for users. The prompt begins with the user having to select a phone type from a select menu, and then continue to the text fields to enter the digits.I would like to have the text fields disabled unless any of the types of phone are selected, but not if a type isn't selected. Anway i am creating a booking system which at the end of the process asks who supplied your voucher which they then select a supplier.
The issue i have is my client wants it so if groupon is selected then an input text box should appear so that the user can input a security code from groupon.
So basically it is

page cant refresh as it will lose its data which would have taken the user about 10 minutes to fill out :(

I have a form with many huge lists ("select" with many "options") that depend on eachother. I am dynamically updating the form through server, and wish to update the list values by sending a mask string. This way I could remove and restore the options without the need to pass the whole list again.
I tried many ways but none work:
* option.diabled="disabled" is not good because it is still shown
* option.style.visibility='hidden' is not good because it is still taking a row
* option=null is not good because I will not be able to restore it

The problem is that after adding a new input field - the content in the other fields is deleted.
