Heres my javascript code that will verify email from email input field and check if the checkbox (I agree condition) was checked:
[Code]....
However, this will work fine when calling with a link "javascript:validate('inputForm');" but if I try to prevent users by submitting form with pressing enter I put it in form onSubmit parameter: <form .. onSubmit="javascript:validate('inputForm');"> which will check the forms and submit data (do return) no matter if it matched or no.

I have multiple forms on my website. Some of them have a checkbox which is checked by default, whereas others are unchecked by default. I'm trying to figure out how I would detect whether or not the checkbox is checked, and if it is checked, disable certain fields (not necessarily all fields), and then toggle it back and forth as I check or uncheck the box..I found this code:
Code:
<script language="javascript">

I have a simple PHP form and to prevent double data submission, once the user has clicked 'submit', I want to disable the submit button using JavaScript. It was recommended in another thread that one could accomplish this using jQuery and the following code:
Code JavaScript:
$('input[type="submit"]').click( function() { $(this).attr('disabled','disabled'); } );
However, I also read that some browsers don't like having the submit button disabled, and that a more "elegant" way to do things would be:

How can I have the submit button disabled by default, an enable it only if 2 specific input box values match. or If a specific form field is => than some value in another form field or hidden field, the Submit button is re-enabled. ( activated / unhidden)I don't want the user to click anything to re-activate or unhide the Submit button. If I can actually hide it at startup, and then unhide it based on the above conditions, that would also work, and possibly preferably.As it stands right now, my submit button is like this.
<input class="btn" onclick="finalCheck(this.form)"
tabindex="17" value="Process" type="button">
I'm also interested in hiding a section of my page based also on input field values.

Within my project, using PHP/HTML/Javascript, I am trying to set up a page where a corresponding submit button is enabled when a given checkbox is checked. What complicates my attempt is that the checkboxes and submit buttons are in the form of arrays. Here is a snippet of my code:
<form name="myform4" id="list_apps" method="post">

I have an FAQ page on my site, but, because much of the information could be
relative to the area council's bylaws, I want to have a pop-up window appear
when someone clicks the "FAQ's" menu button. In the window will be my
disclaimer regarding the use of the information on the FAQ's page, and then
I want them to click either "I agree" (action will close pop-up and direct
them to FAQ's page) or "I disagree" (action will close pop-up and leave them
at page they were at when clicking the link).
The script needs to be linked to the clicking of an image.

I thought this would have been fairly simple but it appears the onchange event isn't triggered when a hidden field is populated by other javascript without user input.
I have a simple search box and autocomplete/suggestion ajax thingie going on.
What I want to do is have my "Go" submit button disbled until AFTER a user has populated the hidden field "cid". A user populates this field automatically when they click on a suggested option from the ajax autocomplete doofer.
Here's what I've tried at the moment but failed on.
<form action="index.php" method="GET" name="qsform" id="qsform">
<input type="hidden" name="p" id="p" value="compdetails" style="border:1px solid #000000;" />
<input type="text" name="quicksearch" id="quicksearch" value="Find Company"

I am trying to set something up like this - there is a button that takes you to a page where the user can download items (.pdf manuals, etc).
But, I want to set it up so the button ONLY works if the checkbox right above the button is checked.
If it is not checked, and the user tries to click the submit button, a message pops up - or the button is just greyed out until the user checks the box.
Now, I have used this code from a tutorial I found online, but this one uses (3) checkboxes - and if I try to remove 2 of the 3 checkboxes, the script doesn't seem to work anymore:
Quote:
<SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript" LANGUAGE=JAVASCRIPT>
<!--
function checkCheckBoxes() {
if (document.frmTest.CHKBOX_1.checked == false &&

Would anyone care to post your favorite script for disabling the submit button on a form when there are input errors, and reenabling when all errors are resolved? I'd be curious what the different approaches are to this. I looked through my various SitePoint javascript books and surprisingly didn't find an answer to this scenario specifically.The behavior I'm trying to achieve (most efficiently) is having a form start out with the submit button enabled, but if there is a validation error, such as a required field being left blank on blur, the submit button is disabled. It's easy then to re-enable it when the user fills in that field, but harder to get the script to check and see if there are any other lingering errors before going ahead and enabling it.
My natural inclination would be to just keep a count of errors that increments and decrements when errors occur and are resolved. Then the script would check to see that the error count is 0 before re-enabling the submit button. It seemed easy, but I think I'm getting mixed up somewhere in conflicts of variable scope, and it's not turning out right.A google search rendered an example where someone was using a string variable to store errors, concatenating and replacing data to the string as errors were logged/resolved.

Much like gMail, I have a list of files with checkboxes and a number of submit buttons with options.What I'm trying to do is enable or disable these submit buttons depending on how many checkboxes are checked.ie. if only one checkbox in the group is checked, enable the "Get Link" button but if none or more than one is checked, disable the "Get Link" button.Similarly, if none or only one checkbox is checked, disable the "Get List" button but if more than one is checked, enable the "Get List" button.I'm afraid I have no idea where to start!There are a couple more options but I'm sure I could figure it out after that.
