how or what's the JavaScript code to perform the following:
1. I have two frames on my web page. (Top and Bottom)
2. Top Frame is data
3. Bottom Frame are some Controls. (Print button, Back Button, Close Button.)
4. I'm using VB.Net creating aspx pages.
Question: I would like to write to a field in my sql database when the user presses the "Print" button. I was told that I needed to do the following: "create a "Print" button, and USING JAVASCRIPT, invoke the "window.print()" method when a user presses it, then you want to author a hidden form variable, then submit the form. Your code-behind page would read the hidden form variable to know that the user clicked your "Print" button." What will I need to perform the above? I'm very new to web development and Javascript.

I have been working on a "Rock Paper Scissors" game to see if I understand the basics of JavaScript. It all works well until I get to the if statement from lines 30 to 71 in the `fight()`: I have adjusted the reply variable to indicate how it may be "if'ing" through. It seems to be returning the default value of every sub "if" in the overall "if". Am I using the wrong variable for the secondary condition maybe?

I want to print tables on a regular printer with A4 paper. How do I send data to the printer? And is there a processor for sending html to the printer that the printer understands.
One solution is to open a new window with the javascript and execute a php script that generates tables on that page and then just executes the browsers print version.
However, that is not what I want. I want it to send data to the printer without having to ask the user of permission. Any solution?

I need to build an editable Datagrid with add & delete buttons on each
row using javascript.
DataGrid need not be pre-populated with values.
To make the thing complicated, one of the column need to be a date
picker field.
I know things will be easier with ASPX datagrid.
Sadly, I have to stick with classic ASP. Thats why Javascript is my
only option.
Anyone know where I can find sample javascript code for the above.

I am looking for a Javascript Datagrid that will populate based on database driven data, but also allows the data in the list to scroll sepereately from the Header. This is so I can allow users to sort data without making another database call on each sort.
For instance, I have used this Javascript and it looks and works great, except the header scrolls with the data....
[url]
That works great with dynamic database data....but the header dissapears when using a scroll bar.
I am looking for something that works like this, but is not ajax and does not query the database with each sort. [url]
See how the data scrolls, but the header stays put? The pagination onthat example is not needed and in fact I would rather it didn't have that capability.
I want that functionality, but with Javascript.

I'm writing a JavaScript application that would prompt the user for a number between 0 and 2, generate a random number for the computer, then take that input and display two images (in this case two hands making rock, paper, or scissor symbols at each other) using an array, and displaying text indicating a win, draw, or loss. I'm having a lot of problems getting this to work as I am new to JavaScript and am wondering if anyone could help me fix this problem. I just want the input from the prompt AND the random number to translate to what in the array should be displayed and what text is then shown at the bottom.
[Code]..

I tried to work with paginator of datagrid.I have a button to perform next page loading. It calls to the event which set page to the next. Inside each grid (of my datagrid), I also have some jQuery performances and it can not load after then. I don't know how to solve it.
[Code]...
When showing the next page (after clicking on div#xyz), two first jQuery lines of codes don't perform (nothing happens when clicking #efg and #abc isn't hidden). If I load this page at the first time, it performed well. After clicking to next page or previous page, there're something misloading (other jQuery actions).

I've just started looking into jQuery and the first thing I decided to do was try to get it working on a web site i'm currently developing (vb.net 2005). After a few initial teething problems I've got a few odds and end working and have basically improved my site a bit. However there is one major problem.
I have a datagrid on the main page which has one column of hyper links and since I've implemented jQuery the links have stopped working. If I right click the links and 'opening in new window' all works well but simply clicking on the link no longer works.

-The user is only allowed numbers from 1 to 4, but apparently, i add any number and it works.

I'm facing a different problem.
I'm having a long page where there will be content to be printed.
I'm using the css using media=print to hide all the unwanted contents and using the window.print method to invoke printing.
But when i click the print button it prints only partial content upto a single page and all the remaining contents are discarded.
I wonder what may be the problem!!!
And there's another problem , i've bills to be printed in order but dont want them to be breaking in between pages .(ie a bill should be printed fully if there is enough space at the bottom or should be printed on the next page)
How can i do both of this?

Hey all. I am currently putting together a test page of mine where a popup window comes up showing a coupon that I will have a link enabling them to print it simply and easily.
For my current code I have a simple <a href="javascript:window.print()"> that works great on both Internet Explorer 5 and Netscape 4/6 on the PC but for some reason, Internet Explorer 5 for Macintosh doesn't do a thing.

I have an assignment to code a java class that plays rock, paper, or scissors. The class can access the history of past gestures played by both itself and its opponent, but nothing else. The class will be played against others in 10,000 matches and the winner will be determined via round robin format. Other than using a greedy algorithm to determine statistically the best choice from prior gestures and basic pattern recognition I have no decent ideas.

I have written a game of rock, paper, scissors. There are two things I would like to do here:
1. Make the playagain function work. I would like to have a variable start out as 'y', then be redefined as either 'y' or 'n' when the prompt occurs. If this is not possible, any other way to make this work would be welcome.
2. Use <div> tags and CSS to make .swf's appear and disappear accordingly.
EX: I say scissors, Computer says paper. An swf is played of scissors beating paper. When the anim is over, it disappears, and the game continues.
The Code:
