I have an image with links on it for my site. When I hover over the links, it loads another image below, with sub categories. Is it possible for the onMouseOver code to also activate an image map, so that the sub menu links are clickable? I need to have different image maps so that the hover areas correspond to the sections of the image Code:

I'm making a portfolio-style web and there is a Projects section in it. Each project has its own html and a button which links to a new html with a trailer. Now, the new html with a trailer is basically the same for all the projects. It has a flash player embedded in it which has a different project video in each frame.
I've created a function in the trailer html which reads like this:
function reklam1()
{
var flashMovie=getFlashMovieObject("player");
flashMovie.GotoFrame(1);
}
I want to make sure that if I click on a link in the projects html it will open this new trailer html and activate the desired function which will push the flash player into a corresponding frame.
How do I have to make the link to be able to do that? Or is there any better way how to get the player to a desired frame on startup using javascript/html?

Event Listener. From what I understand it will check all events until a defined event happens, such as rollover of a certain image, and then it activates a function? What I want to do is use this so that when I rollover a element such as below:
<img src="img url" alt="this is a tooltip" tooltip="true" />
I want it to pass the obj to a function which then runs, and then once the mouse of not over that element it will activate another function passing the previous object to this function.
Although an element such as the example below would not activate these functions:
<img src="img url" alt="this is a tooltip"/>
As the tooltip tag does not exist or has the value of false. Also, wouldn't this use a lot of resources as it checks every event which the mouse passes over?

I just started with Jquery:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#desperation input[type=image]').attr('disabled', true).fadeTo
("fast", 0.10);
$('#1').attr('disabled', false).fadeTo("fast", 0.70);
});
$('#1').toggle(
function () {
$('#1').click(function() {
$('#1').fadeTo("fast", 1.00).attr('checked', true);
$('#2').attr('disabled', false);
});},
function () {
$('#1').click(function() {
$('#1').fadeTo("fast", 0.70).attr('checked', false);
$('#2').attr('disabled', true);
});});
</script>
<div id="skill">
<form action="javascript:void(null);" method="post"
enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded" id="skillplanner"
name="skillplanner" >
<fieldset id="desperation"><legend>Freetrader Skills: Desperation</
legend>
<input type="image" src="files/icons/underdog.png" id="1"></input>
<input type="image" src="files/icons/dump_guns.png" id="2"></input>
<input type="image" src="files/icons/desperation_fire.png" id="3"></input>
<input type="image" src="files/icons/rum_ration.png" id="4"></input>
<input type="image" src="files/icons/hasty_fire.png" id="5"></input>
</fieldset></form></div>
The problem is with the toggle function. On click it should "check" clicked one and activate next one. Function doesnt work and I dont have a clue....

Why doesn't a onmouseover function work in a function?
(It's prob due to my code being wrong more than anything else!)
I've got the following code (snippet):
<!-- Begin
var image0 = new Image(); image0.src = "blank.jpg";
var image1 = new Image(); image1.src = "map.jpg";
// End -->
function swapTheImages()
{
image0.src=Ƈ.jpg' image1.src=ƈ.jpg' image2.src=ƈ.jpg'
}
When I do an onmouseover and call the function, it doesn't work.
BUT if I put the code in directly - it works!

I have written some dom code to create a list of divs, each with it's
own id. I want to set the onmouseover and onmouseout events to
highlight the div when the mouse is over it. However I cannot use the
method below because oDiv.id is always set to the last div I create -
so the last div is highlighted regardless of which div I am onmouseover
This must be a common issue, how do I go about fixing it?
I can have a separate function which takes event.srcElement and tracks
back through the parent elments until it finds a div with an id
starting with "entry_" but I was hoping for an easier option.
Is this something to do with closures?
Here's a much simplified example :
for( nIndex=0; nIndex<aEntries.length; nIndex++)
{
oEntry = aEntries[nIndex];
oDiv = document.createElement( "div");
oDiv.id = "entry_" + oEntry.uniquename;
oDiv. {document.getElementById(
oDiv.id).className = "hover";};
oDiv. {document.getElementById(
oDiv.id).className = "";};
oBody.appendChild( oDiv)
}

I have a simple HTML page with one DIV element with the id "rotator". Inside that, JavaScript is supposed to create boxes that react to mouseovers.
The weird thing is: The whole script works, but ONLY on the LAST box I create, no matter what I do. I can manually add the mouseover code to any one of these boxes, but it will only take on the last one. I can have JavaScript tell me the mouseover status of each box, and they all tell me they have code assigned correctly - but again only the last one works...
Here's the relevant code (yes, highly abbreviated, but it's the part that fails on me):
var maxBoxes = 10;
function initSite() {
var rotator = document.getElementById("rotator");
rotator.innerHTML = "";
[Code]....
initSite is called in the body onload. All kinds of other animation parts are implemented that work fine, just this mouseover won't work. I have tried re-writing it in multiple different ways, including "xyz.onmouseover = myMouseCode" and then defining the function separately later - still no dice.
So, the code creates 10 boxes (0-9) and 10 boxes that are on top of them to create a form of shadow effect depending on the position of the original boxes. Since the "myDark" boxes are on top of the "myBox" boxes, I apply the onmouseover onto the "myDark" boxes, but it only works on "myDark9" and no other box. They are all created the same way, the mouseover assigned the same way...

I've set up a jsfiddle here [URL]I've been working to reduce my problem to the basics, the end application is a bit more complex and I'm pulling data into the array dynamically using a query from our BI tool.
I'm trying to get the hidden div's to show/animate using the mousedown on the outer DIV. The second example (Belknap2) works (just click the div) because I've typed the code into the mouseover (which is the same text which the variable x results in).
When I try to make this a bit more dynamic, e.g., by calling the variable rather than typing the expression into the mouseover in the first example, it doesn't run.

Is there a function to tell jquery to only do something on the first instance that matches then to stop. For example I add a class to a LI to an UL with the below but it adds the LI to all ULs under it.
$("div#container ul").prepend("<li>Home</li>");
Original code:
<ul><li>
<ul><li>item</li>
</ul></li>
</ul>
Code needed:
<ul>
<li>Home</li>
<li><ul>
<li>item</li>
</ul></li></ul>
Currently Output code:
<ul>
<li>Home</li>
<li><ul>
<li>Home</li>
<li>item</li>
</ul></li></ul>

I am working on an image changer. I found that if I do a fadeout/fadein on an element and then try to do another fadeout/fadein on the same element it does not work so I put my fadeout/fadein inside a function and do all my work in the callback portion along with a call to self to make the function keep running in a loop. I just need to know how to incorporate the hover function to make the script stop while hovered over a specific element (will be one of 6 image divs).
Here is the code
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
var newImage = 'img/1.jpg'; //starts the process with the first image (same as the one in css background-image)
imgreplace(newImage);
});
var files = new Array('img/1.jpg', 'img/2.jpg', 'img/3.jpg');
function imgreplace(newImage){
$("#imgbox").fadeOut(500, function(){
$(this).css('background-image' , 'url(' + newImage + ')').fadeIn(500);
var currImage = newImage; .....
I need to get the randomness fixed because it is still returning the same image sometimes but other than that it works. I just need to be able to hault the function on hover and let it restart where it left off when I move the mouse away. In the unhover section I will be adding code to place an overlay image and href link but I don't think that will be a problem if I can get the start/stop working with hover. Actually I'm hoping to set some variable and use it in my getNewImage function so the other images continue to change but getting the entire script to stop so all the images stop changing will be OK.

I have an auto running function which slides and changes content every 3 seconds.
But I also have another jquery effect which when you click, it also changes the effect, but at the moment I can't have both running at the same time as weird behaviour happens (when clicking, it changes then because 3 seconds have passed it changes again anyway).
We want a way where the user clicks to change, and the auto running function ceases until next reload of the page. code...
