iam creating a signup form where i want to add extra fields depending on user drop down selection,
say, when they choose "Gamer"
i want to include new fields like
1. whats is your fav game etc...
how can i do that.
I have this order form where the customers can change the quantity by intput in a text field.I would like to have the text field changed with select fields, but doing so in the form, the script is not doing anymore.Can anyone have a look and tell me what to change in the scritp to accept select fields in place of the text fields.

I need to go through the stuff[] array via jquery and find out if ANY of them have "thing" selected.I've tried $('#stuff[0]').val(); just to get it to return at least one of the values, but no luck. I also tried on inArray()'s and indexOf()'s but if I can't even get one of the values returned then I probably shouldn't try something even more complex..
i have found the following code and altered it to disable certain fields in my form.but it does not swap the fields around from disabled to enabled and visa versa.what am i doing wrong? mthe following javascript code is in a file and i use the <link... > method within the <head> tags to include this script

I have a PHP form which has an select field (i.e. drop-options) where the different options are populated from a MySQL database as follows:

Now, the issue I have is that I also have another input field (possibly hidden) in this form which is called 'category_id', and what I want it to do is to automatically populate when the user selects the relevant 'category' from the select field above.
I have a select dropdown with several options. The user selects an option and fills out the following few fields. If the user then changes his mind and changes the option in the dropdown, I want all the fields - or just the ones already filled out - to be cleared.
Note: reset() of the form is not an option as there are other things going on (hide/display of fields based on the dropdown option selected).
I am a big fan of the jqtransform plugin [URL]...e/jqtransform/ but have discovered that when you add to many select fields on a page, the bottom half of the select fields do not open the option fields.
I have a form which takes an passenger's date of birth, but there can be up to 9 passengers on a booking, so for every passenger there would be 3 select fields for the date of birth, the day, the month and the year. When I do not use the jqtransform plugin to style the select fields it works perfectly, but when the plugin is active the 3rd or 4th passenger's select fields's click event does not work anymore.

I'm having a problem using javascript with a form. I'm using javascript to determine whether or not a person has selected "yes" or "no" from the select list. If "yes" is selected, the form is supposed to slide down and reveal two more fields. If "no" is selected, the form is supposed to slide back up hiding those two fields again.
When "yes" is selected, the form displays the two new fields properly. In Safari, it does the slideDown animation, yet in Firefox, the new form fields just suddenly display. If I select "no" again, nothing happens. The slideUp animation doesn't play. So currently I am having to use $("#parent1").hide(); to get the "no" to trigger.

I have a large form. One part of it is a column with selects. All drop-downs initially set to "No". The only other option is "yes". I need to make sure that at least one select is set to "yes". Any number, even all of them can be changed to "yes", but only one is required. I can easily add a rule that requires all the fields of the certain class to have certain type of value, but can't think of a way in js to only have one required. I can easily count number of "yes" values with PHP and prevent submitting on the back end, but would really like to have jquery do it first.

Now I'd like to create a page where I can use the datepicker to choose start/stop dates for multiple records. You can see a stripped down version of my code at [URL]. I have start/stop dates for three records and would like to use the datepicker to let the user change the default date. I currently have an icon next to the start times and if you click on it it pops up a datepicker element for the top record where you can select a date and it'll be posted.
My problem is that I'm not sure how to generalize the code to let it work correctly for the 2nd and 3rd records. I'd like to keep just one function to handle the hide/show so that I can later let the user add additional records to the list and also let it be intelligent enough to handle it. I don't have much experience with the proper way to create name/id selections that javascript will then know which fields it needs to edit. A minor problem that I noticed is that the calendar seems to push the time over to the right even though the row it is in should span two columns. What am I doing incorrectly that is causing this?

I am working on a project that requires me to insert info in input boxes (2 input boxes to be specific, firstname, and last name are the two) and transfer that info into a <select> field when the button is clicked. So, let's say in the first input box which is first name I type Tom and in the second input box which is last name I type Smith. When I click the button I want the first and last name to appear in the select field as an option. Now, i tried researching about adding/removing options for the select field, but nothing on getting info from input boxes to put it as an option in <select>.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like some direction on creating a small piece of Javascript that will populate my <select> boxes. Basically, I have a form for users to create events, with a start time and an end time. (These are the two select boxes). For example:

What I am trying to do is:
1) Have times populated in 15 minute incrementals from 12:00AM to 11:45PM
2) Have some type of "error checking" available to where the End Time must be after the start time. It would be nice for the script to automatically change the end time field to a time that is after the start time.
i'm trying to build a small script for predicting Worldcup football winners. participants have to predict the teams in both the semi finals and final. a select menu with all participating countries will be given for 2 semi finals. suppose if a persons selects Argentina and Brazil for Semi 1, then the values of Final select menu should be Argentina and Brazil. Similarly for Semi 2, if Denmark and Italy selected, then the select menu for final2 should be Denmark and Italy.

The script works great, BUT I need to use it in 2 different areas of the same form. It only works on an id="selectMenu" and of course I cannot have more that 1 id.
How can I get this script to work in multiple select fields? (at least more than 1)

Which goes through a list of SELECT fields on my page, and if the value is null, or 0 ... it will change the class to "button" ... but if there is a different value, it will highlight it.
The problem I have - is how do I get the field name? We have about 10 SELECT fields that need processing, but 2 of them need treating a different way. Can I grab the SELECT's name to be able to treat them differently?

What I am trying to do is a page where the user will add their employees details so we can order business cards for them. So I have fileds such as, Name, Tel Num, Email, Cell etc.
I have multiple fields in a form with the same name. Lets call the fields with the same name "junk_array". My first field of junk_array is a input type=hidden. All the others fields in junk_array that follow are type=text. I can reference this first hidden field in IE with document.form.field[0].value. In, fact my form works absolutely wonderful in IE 6. However, netscape 4.7 does not recognize my first field in the array as the hidden field. Netscape sees the first visible text field as the first field in the array, subscript 0. What totally and utterly perplexes me, is that, from a previous thread, I can do this and get 9999 back in an alert
box in Netscape and IE. So, this proves Netscape doesn't have some evil code that disregards hidden fields. I guess...

I even copied these fields directly below the opening <form> tag in my form and both Netscape and IE see the first hidden field as as
subscript 0.
However, my form is much more complicated. I have tables within tables and about 30 other fields. In my form I cannot for the life of me get Netscape to recognize the first hidden field of junk_array to zed as index 0.
Somehow, If I make the first type=hidden fields visible, netscape does work nicely. Why when I toggle type=hidden to type=text does Netscape cooperate. What is happening here? Anyone else have this problem with hidden fields in Netscape? I could post the code to my form but it is
big.
I've seen a variety of implementations around that enable selecting all or no checkboxes by using a checkbox to toggle that choice. However, I'm trying to find a way like this: I have two text links on my page: Select All, and Select None. How can I get those links to call a jquery function to select all or select no checkboxes in my form? As a little food for thought:

I have used this piece of code which is working great. It allows me to add different items from combo boxes to my order form. The problem is that i dont know how to extract the data from my db to display in a form view when i want to amend the i.e the number of items. Each record has a different number of items in it but are all lnked to one id. Is this possible to do. Any help on this would go along way.

There are two input fields in a form, but only one of them is required, they are not required at the same time. Either A or B is required. ( A is required OR B is required). In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time. How to implement this constraint in Jquery form validation?

I have this code, and I was wondering if it is possible to make the select boxes appear AFTER you select the field before.
i am trying to pass text from one select box to another select box. The logic is if 10 are added, no more passing must happen. Also if an item is already added, it mustn't be added again.I am using the for loop to check the existence of an item but it is not working: what am i doing wrong?
