Continuous Horizontal Scrolling Images?
Apr 28, 2007I'm trying to put a Continuous Horizontal Image Scroller into a web site I'm doing. my computer crashed and I lost the script. I just want a group of photo's to continuously scroll (in a loop) along the top of the home page - no links or anything.I've also forgotten completely how I got it all up and working once I had the script.

Here, the biggest problem is, when the page is loaded there are still coming images saved from a capture device. So, my images from the captures device can not be loaded to my web page. I need to pass these images directly to the web page as real-time video taken directly to the web page.

but will not work on 2 computers with IE7 on XP.

Sep 19, 2011Cycle plugin displays horizontally my vertical photos (photos taken with my camera in portrait position).The same photos are displayed vertically (the right way) by other imaging applications (e.g. Photoshop and Finder or Preview in OSX).The same photos are displayed horizontally (the wrong way) by Safari and Firefox (IE not tested). Cycle seems to rely upon browser poor orientation recognizion.how to make Cycle Plugin aware of the right photo orientation?

I had the slideshow working completely fine... then when i finished the rest of the site and added more pages, it is now not working for me. It just sits at the original image that is loaded when they site loads.

Dec 10, 2010I´ve just launch my website-portfolio, well it´s not yet the final version but it is almost and despite I am satisfied with the final result I´ve detected a really strange bug that only happens sometimes. The thing is when the first introduction Slide appears (the one with the hand-made drawings), sometimes the images shrink from the normal size to small tiny images. This doesn´t happen always and if you refresh the page it disappears.

OOTB Search Code Displays Extraneous White Bar
Nov 18, 2010Currently I'm trying to modify OOTB code for a search box.
I'm not sure if this is best addressed within the JavaScript or CSS.
After a search term has been typed in, the users picks a match which opens in a new window, then they close the new window, and try to back space over the typed term, there is a white bar that remains below the text entry box.
For example, if the word bathroom is typed in the text box, a list of possible matching topics is displayed. You pick the option to Where is the bathroom?. This opens a new window/tab - just close the tab. The original search box still displays the term bathroom, but if you backspace to remove the term, then a white bar remains below the text entry box.
How do I get rid of the white bar when the text entry box is empty?

Listings Page Which Displays Results Using Images And Text Which Are Stored In A MySQL Database?
Feb 12, 2010I have a listings page which displays results using images and text which are stored in a MySQL database, all is working fine. The images are pulled into the page from the database and each listing can have up to a maximum of 10 images. Some will have all 10, some probably one or two, so the page is coded such that if there's an image in the field, it displays a thumbnail, if there isn't then it shoves a "Â " in instead.
The results page has one main photo (image 1) and then a series of thumbnails (images 2-10) below it and I need to be able to set this up so that when someone clicks on image 2 it shows the full-size version of that image in the div where image1 sits, and the same for however many remaining images there are.
So my question is, how easy it is to do this with javascript and does anyone have any idea how to code it?
The main photo sits in a div whose id is "mainphoto" the remainder all sit in a div whose id is "thumbpix".
Vertical Centering Code A Little Choppy When Loading?
Sep 7, 2010I recently found a really nice code that centers a page vertically: [URL].. What I like about it, is that when you zoom in with Chrome, nothing gets cut off. Normally other codes for centering will zoom straight into the middle, and cut off content on the left. The only problem I'm having with it, is that when the page loads in Chrome and Safari, it starts to load at the top of the page, and then quickly jumps down to where it's centered. It looks a little choppy when you're navigating through many pages. I'm wondering if there's a way to get it to load in the correct position where it will stay?

Apr 15, 2011i have been coding on this vertical sliding navigation quite a while. its tested on all relevant browsers and works like a dream. id loved to show you an example of it, but the site is under development, and i, as a little coder, am not allowed to grant access to it, additionally i do not have enough time to create a testcase for everybody to see.
to give you a short insight:
the site is quite long (vertically) and we wanted a small navigation (very subtle) to follow the user when scrolling. the problem was: the footer is quite long too, and we didnt want the sliding navigation to reach into it, when scrolling down the footer. in other words: i had to stop the animation when the sliding nav reached the end of the main content.so far so good, i had NO idea how to tell the animation to stop at certain conditions, other than telling it that from the start.
my solution is totally workaround and completely selfmade. but i am SURE that there is some kind of "stop animation when condition is met"-command i was totally overlooking. so please dear jquery community: tell me what i am doing wrong, and how i could improve this function.

Code For A Vertical Slider - Scroll Text On A Page
Sep 27, 2011I was wondering if there is a javaScript code for a vertical slider. Basically, I'm presenting a menu, that needs to fit in a certain amount of space and it is much taller than the space allotted.
I was going to use an iframe, but I thought that there might be some JavaScript I could use that would be more elegant. I just need to scroll text on a page.

Nov 5, 2009is it possible to use clueTip to cycle images. I used jcycle to make a slide show based on images in an html page. That works fine. Now I would like these images to appear in a clueTip. I tried the clueTip feature that allows you to include a web page so I included the web that uses jcycle with the images but it does not work.

Dec 2, 2010I'm using Cycle to transition multiple (8) images at one time. I want to fade in the first 8. In a slideshow where only 1 image displays at a time, the Cycle FAQ advises using the following code to fade in the first image:

This doesn't work on IE or Firefox at all; it kind of works on Safari, in thatthe fade actually works. However, this seems to have also changed the behavior of the slideshow. For some of the cycles, instead of sliding the slides off the page, it hides the old slides and slides in the new ones.

May 5, 2011I used the amazing jQuery Cycle plugin to create a slideshow on a site. It worked great, but one day a couple of weeks ago we got email from a couple of clients with screenshots of improperly sized images. It appears to be the same issue described here, exacerbated by the fact that the page background image is just over half a megabyte: URL...
The clients were using IE 7 and 8 on Windows XP. We were able to reproduce it consistently with Firefox after a hard refresh, but only one person out of our nine-person office was able to reproduce it in IE (IE8, Windows 7) and then only intermittently.When the issue occurred, I was setting up my slideshow in $(document).ready(). I switched it to $(window).load(), and we could no longer reproduce it in FireFox or IE.My question: can I conclusively say that the issue was the same (timing issue, solved by switching to window.load) in FireFox and IE? Management is unsettled by the fact that we couldn't reliably reproduce or explain it in IE, and I've been asked to investigate further.
