Make A Background Fade Out To A Semi-transparent State After / During Upload?

Dec 5, 2011

i have been tasked to create a web page that includes a fading background. (It must become semi transparent once the page has loaded, and remain until a new page is selected. I want to use a similar concept to: [URL]. However instead of fading out to black, i need it to fade out to white (between 10-15% image opacity). I would also need a similar central, transparent, scrollable frame/div (where each page will load up within and like the above link,i need a different background image to each page.

How To Make Text Hover State Change Background Image

May 26, 2010

I use sprites for rollover effects so the hover attribute just changes the background image position. Everything works cool with the rollovers. What I would like to do, is make a text link that when rolled over will change a separate background image to it's hover state. I should add, that the the rollover image has it's own div and is separate from where the text link is located. To get a visual you can check the website [URL] In the body section I would like to make each of the dark red section titles a link that when rolled over will change the hover state of the corresponding "more" button.

Transparent Encryption For File Upload / Download?

Jul 10, 2011

I am working on an ajax application to upload and download encrypted files (AES, 128 bit). The encryption has to be on the client side before sending it to the server.

1. Upload The secret key is stored in a javascript variable during the session. To upload a file, javascript code will show a prompt file dialog and the user will select the file. On hitting submit button a javascript code will call a method in a java applet (with secret key and filename as parameters) that will read the file, encrypt it and sent to the server. I am still coding this but seems to me there will be no problem, the applet even doesn't need to be signed.

2. Download This is where I have the problem.I want the user to click the link, the file should be downloaded, decrypted and opened or 'saved as..'. Is this possible to do in a way that the user doesn't have to do intermediate steps, like 1. Download, 2. Decrypt. 3 Open by the corresponding application ? Right now the idea is to use XMLHttpRequest to download the file into a javascript variable and pass it to the applet, the applet will decrypt and save the file into a temporal directory on the user's computer. After that javascript will present a link that the user will click to open the file. But that are 2 steps and I have to sign the applet to be able to write files. Is there a way to do this as a single process (with an unsigned applet) and at the end to show the 'Save as...' dialog so the user will decide wether to save it or to open with some application?

JQuery :: Picture Fade Script To Fade Background Image?

Feb 14, 2011

This is a really awesome script that I'm sure all of you can put to use if you haven't yet heard of it. However, I'm trying to get it to fade a background image on my css styled navigation for my a:hover. Here is the script with a little simple tutorial on how to set it up: [URL] My only other knowledge is in PHP, so after about 2 hours of fail in this client-side language

This is the link to my site so far: [URL] You can see the script working as it is on my little yellow MW logo on the right side of the navigation. So in my scenario, I am looking to fade button.png to button-hover.png (both repeating on the x axis).

How To Set Transparent Background

Transparent Flash Background In IE (WMode)

PNG Images Display Horrible Grey Or White Background When It's Transparent In IE 6

Jan 16, 2009

There is a big wide problem that with IE6, PNG images display this horrible grey or white background when it's transparent. It looks ugly, but I can't seem to find a way to solve it. I've searched on google and copied scripts, inserted them in to the document I wish for the png to be completely transparent but it's still not working. I would normally just leave it, but as I want the site to look professional and the transparent png is essential to the data being displayed, I've been trying to find solutions to it.

I realise that most users have upgraded to IE 7 / IE 8 which supports transparent png images but there's got to be a small percentage of users who use IE6. I can't just say "sorry you'll have to upgrade your browser to view the data properly" obviously, so I'm trying to find solutions. I've tried using spacer.gif but that doesnt work (but it does when on table designed pages), so I found some scripts:
