Lightbox Control Be Used Only Once (disable/removing It After Its Been Clicked)?
Jul 21, 2010
I am using a lightbox script (which dims the page when clicked and shows a pop up image).This script is called upon by the user clicking on an imageButton.I am also trying to close, hide or disable this once it has been clicked on (so it only works once). My code is below:
< a href="lightbox/images/image-1.jpg" name="alightbox" rel="lightbox" >
< asp:ImageButton ID="ImgBtnWarning" src="lightbox/images/submitCover.gif"
runat="server" border="0"
[code]....

I have a lot of information on my site that is in multiple categories. I have a list of categories, each with its own checkbox. By default, all the information is displayed (therefore all the checkbox's are checked by default).When someone unchecks the box I want to hide the divs with that class, and when someone rechecks the box, they should reappear. Here is my code so far. It is hiding the div's fine, but they are not reappearing when user tics the checkbox again.
<script type="text/javascript">
function toggledisplay(category){
if(document.getElementById(category).checked){

I have a prettyPhoto lightbox plugin on my site. When I click the thumbnail, the lightbox window opens. The problem is that when I scroll, the lightbox shakes violently. I have tried every available option through CSS positioning and none of them suit my situation. I need to be able to DISABLE all scrolling while the lightbox is open.
I tried this:
<SCRIPT type="text/javascript" language="Javascript">
var stop_scroll = false ;
function scrolltop(){
if(stop_scroll ==true){
[Code]....
This does nothing unfortunately and I imagine I am either approaching this incorrectly or I have some kind of syntax error.

I noticed that in the GoDaddy Account UI that whenever you try and control click it simply opens the link in the same window (only seems to apply to the main navigation menu). I am trying to use a script like that on my site but was not able to locate it in their source code.

I would like to disable the ability of the user hold control and click
and get the dropdown menu. I am ultimately discouraging users from
easily getting a copy of the image. I was able to do this and disable
dragging on all browsers I have tested except Safari (Mac).

At the bottom of this page: [URL] There's a sign up button... When you click on it, the button is disabled, and the word 'Signup' is replaced by 'Signup in process'. The HTML on the button is:
Code HTML4Strict:
<button type="submit" id="SBIAgree" class="actionCreate" disableonsubmit="Signup in progress..." name="MSignal_SI-IA*">
And there is a tonne of javascript on the Fastmail Site here: [URL] I think it's something to do with the 'disableonsubmit' function, but when I tried to separate out that part of the JS into a test page myself, I can't get it to work. I wondered if anyone might be able to advise about the core JS elements that make this functionality work?

Is there a way to fix the existing slideshow to work with lightbox? Or is there another way of doing this (keeping the same look that is currently in place)?

Situation:I have a very long page divided into many sections vertical-wise marked by bookmarks, say pageX.html#s1 to s10. I need to show the section inside an iframe (iFrame1) on the mainpage (mainpage.html). I am thinking of having 4 buttons, sitting on the mainpage, to help navigate between these sections on pageX, namely NEXT, PREVIOUS, TOP, END.condition of the frame, fixed width/height, no scroll, no border.Very new to javascript but need this code to make a page work for BIZ.

I have a very simple web page that is comprised of the same image over and over again. I have it to when you click on it, it swaps the image out and adds 1 to the counter. I need it to subtract 1 when you click it again.
<script type="text/javascript">
var namesVec = new Array("block.png", "block_hover.png");
var root='images/';
function swapImg(ima){
// divides the path
nr = ima.getAttribute('src').split('/');
// gets the last part of path, ie name
[Code]...
I mean, is there a way to assign "add 1 when clicked" or "subtract 1 when clicked" to image properties?

I have an HTML file that has a call to a Javascript function in it as
follows:
<!-- bunch of stuff -->
<script type="text/javascript">doXMLFromString()</script>
<!-- bunch of stuff -->
Now I make a copy of this HTML file by creating a new window and writing
var body = document.body.innerHTML;
printWin.document.write (body);
But this copies the script tag above as well, and then tries to call
that JS function (doXMLFromString). I don't want it to do that.
In other words I dont want that javascript statement to be executed. I
tried removing it from the document (using removechild) however it would
still get called.
How can I stop this?

Just wondering there is any other way to remove the toolbar from the browser
than using
" ...toolbar=no ..."
in the
window.open(...)
is there a way to do it after the browser opened? (say some Java script)
are there any parameters or style like stuff that can be embedded in the
HTML code and does it when the new page created?
or is the above method the ONLY way?

I am weak when it comes to regexp but hoped someone might know in this case.
I am trying to take a url like this :
something.lasso?blah=blah&blah2=blah2&sort=hello&blah3=blah3
And remove the &sort=XXX without hurting the rest of the url. The parameter
to be replaced would be a parameter passed to a function. Here is what I
have so far:
function refresh(item) {
current = document.location.href;
if(current.match(item.name+'='))
//pseudo code here
//current.replace(item.name regexp , '');
return (current + "&" + item.name + "=" + item.value);
This function would be fired like this :
All <input type="radio" name="show" value="all"
onclick="document.location=refresh(this);">
Mine <input type="radio" name="show" value="mine"
onclick="document.location=refresh(this);">

I've been given a large number of HTML pages. Each page has one or more
tags. When the pages were being built I asked that an ID attribute be
included with each element that will later be referenced. The first
ID'ed element on the page has the ID 'item0', the next 'item1' and so on.
Unfortunately they also included a NAME element which in many cases is
similar to the ID but out by one. That is the first element on the page
has the NAME 'item1', the next 'item2' and so on.
This stuffs up some things that depend on the ID (IE seems to make use
of the NAME instead of the ID when I ask getElementByID). Is there an
"easy" way to remove all the NAME attributes, or at least make them
invisible to IE, on page load?

My goal with a script I am writing is to remove signatures from a forum I am a part of. Some of the people abuse it with half a page of stuff and it's out of control. So here is what the HTML source code for it looks like
<table cellSpacing="1" width="100%" border="0" class="tback" cellPadding="2">
<tr>
<td width="100" class="headcell">Author</td>
<td class="headcell">Topic</td>
</tr>[CODE]...
The very bottom where it has the 'span' tag and it says "SEC Champions" is where the Signatures are located. I want to completely remove that using my script and this is what I have right now
function sigRemove() {
var sigs = document.getElementsByTagName('span');
for (var i = 0; i < sigs.length; i++) {
sigs[i].style.display = 'none';}}
I know it's incomplete but I only want to remove that bottom span tag and everything inside of it and not every span tag on the page.
