Apply Selected Class To One <li> When Another <li> Is Clicked On

Sep 4, 2010

I currently have a script that dynamically adds a css class called "on" to a menu item once it is selected, turning that link red to show that it's active. Here is the web page: As you can see, if you click on "Dimmer" or "Pol Pot's Birthday", or one of the three Patriotville scene links (1, 2, or 3), those links stay red. Wrapping Tags Around Selected Text In A Text Area!!

Jun 16, 2006

I'm trying to 'wrap tags' around text in a text box.

<script language=javascript>
function insertFauxTags(fauxTag, e, endFauxTag)
{
var e = document.frmAddNewForum.txtTopicMessage.selected;
document.frmAddNewForum.txtTopicMessage.Value += fauxTag + e + endFauxTag;
}
</script>

And my form:

<form runat="server" id="frmAddNewForum">
<asp:textbox id="txtTopicMessage" runat="server" cssclass="formtext" rows="5" textmode="MultiLine" width="95%" style="width:95%"></asp:textbox>
</form>

And here's how I'm calling the function:

<a href="javascript:insertFauxTags('[p]' + e + '[/p]')"><img src="http://www.<%=strSiteName%>/images/parabutton.gif" border="0" alt="Paragraph" /></a>
When I run this in FF I get 'e' is not defined - any ideas?

JQuery :: Start Webpage In Certain Area?

Looking for a script that will start a website at a custom location tarts page at top: 800px, left: 400px) I am NOT looking for any sort of popup window positioning. When a visitor access the site using their browser I want that page to start at a location I specify like this website does: Please note, I realize this site uses anchor tags to accomplish this. I'm not good enough at Jquery to know how they did it, or modify it so that it also handles points left as well as top.The ideal script would position this point in the center of the browser window.

JQuery :: Dynamically Add Area To Map And Highlight On Hover

Jan 17, 2011

I am trying to dynamically add an area to a map and hilight it on hover. I can accomplish this in the html code like this...
<script>
$(function(){
$('.map'}.maphilight();
});
</script>
<map id="mapPoly">
<area id="poly" shape="polygon" coords="0,9,5,0,15,0,20,9,15,17,5,17" href="http://www..." class="{...}"/>
</map>

I can add the area successfully with javascript like this...
function AddArea(){
var element = document.createElement("area");
element.id="poly"; element.shape="polygon";
element.coords="0,9,5,0,15,0,20,9,15,17,5,17";
element.href="http://www...";
mapPoly.appendChild(element);
}

The only thing I cannot figure out is how to add the "class" to the element which sets the properties for the highlighting. It will not allow me to do this,
element.class="{fillColor:ff0000}".

Is there a way I could change it to so it doesn't automatically close one when another is open? Meaning I would like to have multiple content areas expanded at once. I would also still want to be able to manual close them if I want.
